New Year, New Motivation - The Notso’s are back on track!

I can’t remember how many threads we’ve had now, but here’s the new one.

My plan is to go get back to 1250 calories per day using MFP and my shiny new fitness tracker. I had lost 10lbs from Nov-Dec this way and found it manageable. However, I won’t be starting until Jan 1st as I’ve a few parties and stuff on (and it wouldn’t be a well thought out plan if I didn’t procrastinate about starting).

My goal is a holiday we’re going on at the end of March, I will need to be in a swimsuit for some of it so need to get my shit together.

I think everyone on this thread has tried every diet going so newcomers feel free to join, there’s lots of support and understanding.

Rachey my friend is going to Disney next month and she got a deal where all her meals were free. They do flash deals for the basic plans and then you can top up for the fancier restaurants, but her kids are happy with burger and chips so she didn’t bother.

Exante is a killer. I don’t know how you manage it. I’m sticking to 800-1000 cals most days and getting a walk when it’s not lashing rain. I’m finding it easier to fast and go for much longer times and I feel good.

Green that sounds so frustrating about your cupboards. I don’t know about you, but I really need to do things while I’m motivated or al my plans fall apart.

We haven’t found our forever home either. I thought we had and we were going to put in an offer but it was going to take so much work we had to let it go. We didn’t have the money to fix the structural problems, I was gutted for months.

Thanks for the tip sol I'm not even sure the prize is ligit. I never "win" anything so I'm a bi weary.

Walking is great for the mind, I love just walking and not really thinking about anything. It sounds like this is really working for you. With 800/1000 cals your still eating just need to be controlled.

I just look at my house and it brings tears, I'm grateful I have a house in London zone 4 but it's the area......I hate it. But the boys are in a good strict school and we still rely on my mother in law and she lives 15 mins away (in a nice part of east London)

I've started a free trail at a new gym, went last night and I think I'm going to join, the weights they have are amazing and the spin class was good, although bikes are a little shoddy.

Day 3 of exante - I'm doing ok. Have this constant niggly headache but otherwise I'm managing. I will eat at weekends but just healthy the start back up on Monday. I'll probably be out of ketosis but I have plans on Sunday and I can't avoid food. 😢

Hope everyone has a good day xx

Racheyg · 18/09/2019 19:21

I've just ordered more exante 😬

Racheyg · 19/09/2019 21:33

Phew, just did the most crazy class ever. It's like a circuit class on speed.

Just weighed myself and I'm 11 2lbs not sure what I was first thing on Monday but I reckon I must have been about 11st 11 - 11st 13lbs

I'm pretty happy with how this week has gone, I hope I don't go off the rails too much at the weekend.

How is everyone getting on

Greenrabbit · 20/09/2019 10:18

That’s really good Rachey. I don’t know how you manage classes on so little food! Glad the Exante is working for you.

I’ve had an okay week so far. I’ve managed to really increase my steps and I’ve been trying to eat sensibly.
I’m feeling more positive and on Monday I’m going to start tracking calories and macros.

How are you getting on Sol?
You’re right about getting things done straight away. I’m trying to get motivated now to do some more tidying.

Are you okay Pom?

Racheyg · 20/09/2019 17:30

Argh I've just eaten a tonne of popcorn 😬

Pomegranatepompom · 21/09/2019 10:57

Sorry not been around - life v busy, will try and catch to this weekend. Hope everyone well x

Pomegranatepompom · 21/09/2019 11:27

Rachey I'll post about Florida later but I'd be wary of a free week too, therefore often strings and hidden fees attached? Imo the accommodation is the cheapest bit. Also a week is not long enough. Maybe something better saved for in the future when DS behaviour has improved?

SolitudeSometimesIs · 21/09/2019 15:38

I’ve been went on and off plan all week. Still under usual calories but with too many carbs. Trying to walk a bit and stay busy.

Rachey you are doing so well. Working out and Exante must leave you wrecked. I hope the new gym is good.

Green do you use a fitness tracker? I lost the charger cable for my Mi Band so was thinking of upgrading.

OP posts:
Racheyg · 21/09/2019 19:31

Gone way way way off track 😬

Pomegranatepompom · 21/09/2019 19:41

rachey where did you win the villa?
I think flights are normally between £500-800 ish. I personally think if paying that much to fly, I’d stay longer than a week. There’s so much to do that even 2 weeks is very busy. If you stay on site at Disney you can get free dining apart from at Easter and Christmas. The snacks do add up, ie 2 ice creams, 2 popcorns would be pretty much $20! I take snacks with us and drinks to keep the cost down. We always share meals as the portions are massive.
We always have breakfast before going to parks which is much cheaper than eating out. I don’t want to eat out 3 x a day anyway - just my opinion !
When would you go?
If you stay off site you can get a villa for 1.2k for 2 weeks, Disney tickets are around 1.6k. I guy can get flights for 2k, minimum spending would be 1k including meals I think. So around around 6k for 2 weeks?
Of course around 4.5k with your free villa but that’s for a week ???
Have said all that, it can cost 4k for a family of 4 to go to Europe for week !!!’

Pomegranatepompom · 21/09/2019 19:43

Sorry not been around. Dieting not going well. Going to try to fast Sun/Mon and weigh in on Tuesday.

Just having a rum though ! Blush

We moved recently, don’t think it’s our forever home, maybe will feel more like it when we’ve completed the work.
How’s the new storage Green?
Hope all well Sol?

Racheyg · 23/09/2019 19:56

Thanks for the info green and pom tbh we were a bit dubious about the hotel. Turns out it's like a time share. I think we are going to wait a few years as ds2 not yet 100cm so might not be able to enjoy all the rides.

And we are going to save 😂

Pomegranatepompom · 23/09/2019 21:28

Which hotel Rachey? Loads are time shares but that doesn't mean it isn't good. We've stayed in a time share before.

Racheyg · 26/09/2019 15:10

pom its a company called clc world. I think we a definitely going to save up and do it all properly.

How is everyone getting on?

SolitudeSometimesIs · 27/09/2019 05:01

Doing really rubbish here. DS2 is back to not sleeping so I find I’ve started reaching for carbs again. I’ve put on 3.5lbs. DH is away so might try and restart F800 when he gets back and I can make him get up with DS.

I never knew it was so expensive to go to Disneyland! I mean it makes sense because it’s so far away, but I thought it would be 4000 max. My brother and his wife have been a few times with their kids and absolutely love it.

Congratulations on the new house Pom, I hope you settle in soon. Why don’t you think it’s your forever home?

OP posts:
Racheyg · 27/09/2019 14:59

pom do you need to do much work to the house? We moved 5 years ago and could do with spending 50-60k in making it a long term home.

We have resigned to the fact we are staying put until the kids do Alevels.

sol sorry to hear ds2 hasn't been sleeping well again. It must be so tough being sleep deprived. You did so well, I'm sure once your dh gets back you'll be able to get back into it.

green how are you getting on?

Ds2 has really struggled with school, his behaviour has been shocking and this week he has had three accidents 😢

My new gym is going well, makes such a difference not jumping in the car to drive there. I weighed myself today and I'm 11st 1lb i weighed wrong last week not realising the scales went up by 2 so I was about 11st 6. Not 11st 2lbs 😂 I had lots of foot at the weekend so I'm glad I've lost a little weight.

I'm only doing exante mon-Thursday then I'll try and eat sensible the rest of the time.

Pomegranatepompom · 27/09/2019 17:07

Sorry hear DS not sleeping Sol it's so hard to function on little sleep, let alone diet. F800 good idea, I am going to try it again. I was meant to this week but only managed 2 days due to social things. I have a clear week next week though. Hope you get some sleep tonight.

Disney can be cheaper. The 1st time we went it cost under £3000 for car hire, hotel and flights. I think if you do lots of research you could do much cheaper. You can get decent hotels for £40 night, I know people who have stayed at the Rosen which is cheap but functional and clean. Also indirect flights are much cheaper.
We really like Disney holidays and I try to budget for them (don't have much of a social life due to lack of childcare!).

Could you do gradual home improvements Rachey ? I think you said the schools are good near you?? We are pretty diy clueless and get people in to do everything which makes things more expensive but it does reduce stress. House needed new floors, decorating throughout, storage, new shower room etc. We had budgeted 10k but it will be 20k. It will then hopefully need minimum spend for next 5 years...
Forever home? Not sure, it was such a mess when we moved in, I hated it. Also kitchen is quite small and I do prefer a kitchen diner. We will see. The most important thing is we moved for schools.
Good plan with gym rachey Sorry to hear DS2 is struggling. Parenting is so challenging.... hope things calm soon. Your weight is excellent ! When we got back from holiday I was 12st !!! I've put on loads of weight this year. I am weighing in on Tuesday, and will be sticking too 800 cals from Monday.

How are you Green ? I hopeful is well and you are still as motivated ! Hope you've made progress with you lovely new storage. It needs to stop raining.
What shall we do to renew our motivation towards Christmas.
Maybe a walking /exercise challenge ????

Well this weekend went to pot food wise, stuffed my face and drank on Saturday and yesterday me and the kids has a movie day with popcorn, chocolate, marshmallows and chocolate covered pretzels 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈

I'm back up to 11st 4 😬 oops!!!

How was everyone's weekend?

pom was that the main focus on moving? Good schools? Yes the schools are good in my area, all high achiever schools and get very good grades ect.

sol I hope ds2 has a good weekend and having dh back has relived your tiredness?

green how are you doing? Still decluttering?
I need to get rid of some kids clothes ds2 has pjs and pants from age 18-2 years 🙈🙈 although he still fits in them 😂

SolitudeSometimesIs · 30/09/2019 17:18

Very bad weekend food wise here. I was so tired last night I ordered the kids a takeaway pizza and I had an Indian. We had a movie day yesterday too Rachey I made pretzels for the kids that they had with hot chocolate. DH comes home late tonight and he is on night duty for the rest of the week.

I am nearly finished the declutter here. I’ve been doing it for months. I just need to stop buying new crap.

I’m going to stick to F800 for the whole month of October. I want 14 lbs gone by Halloween. I need a goal, I also need to knuckle down and do it. And then lose another stone by Christmas. Who is with me???

OP posts:
Pomegranatepompom · 30/09/2019 17:47

I really want to lose 14lbs quickly too Sol.
I just can’t seem to get motivated. Had 600 calls today though.
Back later

Racheyg · 30/09/2019 18:11

I stupidly brought a bikini it's costs £££ the top looks amazing, not sure in the bottoms. Im trying to work out if I'm brave enough to post a picture on here of me wearing for your advice as I know you guys will be honest with me.

Off to the gym. I need to get rid of this bloat 😢 post me later xx

SolitudeSometimesIs · 01/10/2019 07:33

I lost .6lbs since Friday. I clearly didn’t screw up that badly over the weekend. I’m determined now though, I’ll stick to it until Halloween.

That bikini is lovely Rachey, the frills on the side should be flattering and I love the higher waist.

600 cals is great Pom, just build on that success again today.

I’ve been looking at ice sculpting for next year when I’ve lost some weight, it sounds amazing. I have a permanent double chin that will be the first to get zapped.

OP posts:
Racheyg · 02/10/2019 08:47

sol that's amazing that you still lost and had a Indian. Ohh I've never heard of ice sculpting do they just freeze the fat?

I'm so impressed with your motivation. Keep doing what you are doing and you'll be there in no time. Little goals at a time like your doing are working.

I'm desperate for a tummy tuck.....but so scared of the GA, the surgery doesn't bother me or recovery/pain I'm scared I won't wake up.

pom well done on your 600 cal a day. I'm averaging at 800-1000 cals but I'm exercising everyday except Wednesday. I'm loving the new gym. I'm not doing as many spins or burning as many calories but I'm mixing it up, strength and fitness.

green how are you getting on?

I'm off out on Saturday night for my sister in laws 40th. I'm looking forward to getting dressed up. I have two options of outfits. Similar dresses but different colours and one is long. I'll post pics and you can let me know what looks best?

I'm also getting a fake tan as I love the healthy glow
