I can’t remember how many threads we’ve had now, but here’s the new one.

My plan is to go get back to 1250 calories per day using MFP and my shiny new fitness tracker. I had lost 10lbs from Nov-Dec this way and found it manageable. However, I won’t be starting until Jan 1st as I’ve a few parties and stuff on (and it wouldn’t be a well thought out plan if I didn’t procrastinate about starting).

My goal is a holiday we’re going on at the end of March, I will need to be in a swimsuit for some of it so need to get my shit together.

I think everyone on this thread has tried every diet going so newcomers feel free to join, there’s lots of support and understanding.

Don't be hard on yourself, hopefully won't do much harm. I might start with you on Monday?

Yes we are going to do it, I looked up the spray and it seems fine. Widely used, researched etc.
I'm looking forward to not being on constant S alert !

SolitudeSometimesIs · 01/08/2019 13:38

I only lost .3 lb today. I’m so annoyed at myself. But it has spurred me on to stop being such a a twit and focus. I also had a glass of wine last night as DH was cooking with it and I drank it before I copped it wasn’t a good idea.

Breakfast: Tofu scramble and 2 quorn rashers.
Lunch: Quorn pieces with chickpeas, mushrooms, spinach and broccoli rice in a creamy Cajun sauce.
Dinner: Stirfry veg with tofu and zoodles in garlic and ginger.

Please try it with me Pom, it would be great to have a buddy. It takes a bit of planning but the results are brilliant. My stomach is no longer a big round football, it is so much flatter, and I have lost one of my chins, I look so much better. And the quick losses spur me on, I’m determined to lose 10lbs in the first 2 weeks, that would take me months on SW or WW.

Monday Sol xx
I’ve got the book !

SolitudeSometimesIs · 01/08/2019 22:07

Oh yay Pom!!!

I definitely struggle at some points during the day, more out of bad habits than hunger, but a cup of coffee or bottle of water sorts me out.

There’s a great thread in the 5:2 Fasting section here that I read for inspiration, I haven’t cheated on this thread I promise Grin

Feel good this evening and I wasn’t even hungry enough for dinner this evening, I had to make myself eat it. DH and I are off to a very low-key wedding reception tomorrow so I’m not sure how the day will go, it’s basically a garden party with all the kids but I refuse to bring a lunchbox with me. And I’ll definitely be having a few glasses of bubbly. Hoping not to feck it up too much.

You sound really positive Sol. Well done on your losses too.
You should definitely enjoy some food and drinks at the wedding though.

Hope you get rid of those spiders soon Pom.

How are you Rachey? Have a great Birthday weekend.

I’m starting again in Monday ( not quite sure what I’m doing yet).
Trying to remind myself that if I start then I’ll feel so much better in a months time.

Racheyg · 02/08/2019 23:07

I'll join you sol what do I have to do??

SolitudeSometimesIs · 03/08/2019 08:16

Thanks Green, we had a lovely day. Lots of gorgeous food and wine so I’m trying to avoid the scales. It was a great day, they hired bouncy castles for the kids and some food was catered and then the Brides Dad and brother did a BBQ. Possibly the best wedding reception I’ve ever been to, so relaxed and only about 40 guests including all the kids so not too crazy.

Back on my diet today and hoping to reset the scale by Monday.

Do you fancy doing Fast 800 too Green?

Rachey the basics are that you can only have 800 calories every day for the first 2 weeks (up to 12 weeks) and then it’s a 5:2 principle.
It’s a low carb diet so no breads, rices etc and only the occasional red wine.
Avoid sugar like the plague.
Try and build in a good 12 hour fast time or longer over night. So I finish eating at 8pm and try not to eat until 12pm the following day, this doesn’t always work though.
I use MFP to track my calories as I find it easier and I like the graph that shows my weight is going down.
Try and eat only veg that grow over ground as there are fewer carbs in them.
I’ve found the diet really family friendly as I just have the meals without the carb element, so the kids have veggie spaghetti bolognaise (I can never spell it) so I had the Bol over some field mushrooms with Parmesan cheese or have zoodles with it.

There is a recipe thread in the 5:2 Fasting section but a lot of it is meat based but could be useful to you.

Give it a week and see how’s you get on, I struggled initially but a little fall of the wagon steeled my resolve. Oh and take measurements as lots of people have noticed that even when the scales is barely moving they are losing inches and inches.

Non-scale victory here, I went underwear shopping and I have gone from a 40 to a 38 in size across my back in a week. I was so happy. I also bought a coat that is a size 16, I haven’t had a size 16 coat in over 2 years, it closes and everything!

On the way home I was thinking that I’m not going to go wild with weighing myself and despairing if it takes a long time for the numbers to drop on the scale. My body has shed a massive amount of visceral fat in the last week and I’m probably going to stay on 800 for as long as possible. I’m bloody delighted.

Racheyg · 03/08/2019 18:33

sol you sou d so positive and motivate I'm definitely joining you.

I feel fat and disgusting my body hurts I've eaten so badly. Monday I'm drawing a line under it and moving on.

Will post more after I've finished dinner

SolitudeSometimesIs · 04/08/2019 09:05

Oh Rachey don’t be too hard on yourself. I think we all have that straw that breaks the camels back with regard to our eating habits. I know I did. We can do this on Monday, I’ll be right beside you struggling through. But enjoy the rest of your weekend, have all the carbs and wine because on monday you’ll be waving goodbye to it all.

I’m out for dinner tonight at my in laws so I’ve no idea what food I’ll get, but if it’s not diet suitable I’ll have to have it anyway. I’m thinking of this as a way of life rather than a quick fix and I need to be flexible.

So my plan is to have an 800 cal day even if the 800 cals involves carbs I won’t mind, I’ll just try to stick to the limit. I won’t be drinking either, I’m sick of feeling crap the morning after a few glasses of wine.

Afternoon all.

Sounds like a great wedding sol how did your dinner go with in-laws?

I started today. I've had 10 almonds and vegetable crudités and aubergine dip which equals at 300 cals.

Got salmon with cauliflower rice tonight which will take me to 800cals

I'm hungry but not starving I even resisted Colin the caterpillar cake today 🙌🏻

Hoping to make it to spin tonight. But it's such a rush with picking ds up from holiday club

Pomegranatepompom · 06/08/2019 21:33

Racheyg · 06/08/2019 22:22

pom sorry work so busy. Your missing me failing at dieting 😂 I just can't stick to anything. I will get my focus on soon.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 07/08/2019 15:04

Hi. Sorry I missed the start of the diet. I ended up spending a few days in hospital with my Dad as he had a heart attack. My siblings were all on holiday so I was the only one here to help him, thankfully they made their way home so Im under less pressure. Needless to say my diet has been crap, mostly made up of the Tesco meal deal from the shop across from the hospital.

Anyway, Dad is on the mend, he needs to get stents fitted but he’s recovering well in hospital. I’m not stepping on a scales but I will be back on it tomorrow. I feel like a whale.

How are you all getting on?

Pomegranatepompom · 08/08/2019 06:50

Sol you poor thing. So stressful and frightening for you. Very pleased to hear your dad is improving. Take care x

SolitudeSometimesIs · 08/08/2019 10:39

Thanks Pom, it was a bit of a shock but he’s recovering so well. It wasn’t a massive heart attack, but hopefully enough to make him see he has to change his lifestyle a bit, he smokes and eats crap. It’s also made me a bit more determined to get my shit together.

Menu today:
Lunch: Aubergine dip (inspired by Rachey) with carrots and celery. Veg soup.

Dinner: Stuffed beef tomatoes (cauliflower rice, mushrooms, onion, spinach with cream cheese) topped with Parmesan, salad and quorn rashers.

Loads of water, loads of coffee and loads of mooching around the kitchen hungrily in my future.

How’s everyone doing?

Racheyg · 08/08/2019 11:12

sol wow I'm so sorry to hear about your father. So glad he is making a quick and full recovery. It must be very scary when a parent falls ill.

Loving the sound of your food menu. I'm really going to try and get my mojo back

Greenrabbit · 08/08/2019 18:38

What a shock Sol. I’m pleased that he’s recovering.
Your food sounds lovely. You take care x

SolitudeSometimesIs · 09/08/2019 16:13

Thanks all. I was just in with him this morning and he got moved to a new ward and has a few people to chat to so he’s happy.

Trying to make this the weekend that I don’t screw up my diet and eat crap. Fingers crossed. I found some pics of me from when me and DH were on holiday pre-kids. I was so thin, why did I not appreciate my lovely figure? I’ve kept the pics for inspiration when I need it and hopefully they will spur me on.
