Lose a stone in the new year - who’s in?

I am determined to lose my last stone of baby weight in the new year. It will be the same year that my ‘baby’ turns 9 so it’s probably about time. I usually make the mistake of getting to about April, having a panic that it’s nearly summer and then half-arsedly losing a few pounds before it all goes tits up again in the summer holidays.

So! My plan is:

  1. blood sugar diet for jan/Feb. Which obviously means no/very little booze.

  2. couch to 5k (I have a friend who is similarly keen to do this so that will motivate me).

  3. 30 day shred - never made it past the second stage before.

Who’s with me?

A pound is a pound! I’ve been really shit this week, have been drinking a lot since I had the bad news. Need to get back on it though as going to see a pony next week for me and dd to share, and he’s quite small so could do with being nearer 9 stone than 10. Will be a good motivator.

I meant to say,I've achieved my 1 stone goal so am now into the second stone but i wont be very fast. I had a day off work today and went to a friend's for lunch. She made a delicious soup and produced homemade bread which i can' t resist so I scoffed that, plus delicious cheese. I think I am WAY over my 800 calories already. I skipped breakfast and will need to eat something this evening but might limit it to a hard boiled egg and salad.

I also gave in to alcohol last night and shared a bottle of wine with dh. It went straight to my head after dry January, and i then started scoffing peanuts which I found in the cupboard as wine = loss of willpower. Not proud of myself.

I will get back on the wagon properly tomorrow.

Weigh in day today. I've just 2lbs since last week. So losing slowly but at least still losing!

How are you doing Islands ? I think we're the only ones left on this thread!

Hi @EmmaGrundy. You’re doing so well, 2lbs is good. I haven’t lost any weight this week, although I haven’t put any on either. Seems to be a very slow process for me this time! This week is my birthday so I’m eating out a few times and no doubt there will be cake...

Woo hoo lost another couple of pounds, not entirely sure how as I’ve been eating out (including puddings/cake) and drinking quite a lot over the last few days because of my birthday but I’m not going to knock it! Down to 9 st 9 lbs now, so that’s 9 lbs loss in total. Getting there slowly! I’d like to lose another 6lbs and then I’m back to pre dd2 weight.
