2019 is my year...

AFridgeTooFar · 27/12/2018 09:38

Or, should I say, my last year as an overweight blimp?

To be at the lower end of my ideal BMI weight, I have to lose HALF OF MY BODY WEIGHT!

This does not upset me.

It does not daunt me.

Eight stone is less than a stone a month for a year! Or 2.1lb a week.

I'm aiming for 1-2lb a week. I've made an excel spreadsheet, working out my TDEE, and aiming for 500-700 calories below it, per day. I've entered formulae in it, so it will change depending on my weight on that day.

I'll be utilizing MFP, but fucking off the "1200 calories" bollocks...I've actually set it up to "maintain my current weight" so it doesn't tell me off every day! 🤣

I'm also going to burn at least 200 calories a day doing things like walking, energetic house cleaning, etc. This will increase as my weight goes down, and my energy increases. Where I live, walking to the bus stop is more like a mile hike, as it's all uneven terrain and country lanes!

When I've lost the equivalent of two ankle-weights, I'm going to buy some- and wear them- so I'm still burning as many calories.

I've made a Pinterest board of clothes in my style, in a size 12. Also a list of "treats" for every time I hit 10lb loss.

And I'm going to order a full length mirror for the first time in a decade.

Truth
Transparancy
Total Overhaul.

I got this!

I LOVE your username! Your plan sounds very determined. I am no expert but I would factor in some weeks when despite all good efforts the scales are just little feckers and don't behave as expected, otherwise it's very easy to get downhearted. There is a lovely ongoing series of threads on here for like-minded people working on losing 100lbs (just over 7 stones) so you might find that's a friendly place for support too.

Your comment about the ankle weights reminded me of the day this year I realised I had lost more weight than my 7 year old weighs, and I definitely can't carry her around all day Grin Real change is definitely possible. I have been out for a run this morning and in the middle of it was grinning like a loon at the thought of me 12 months ago wanting to run anywhere or being able to. I am a very different person these days and much happier with loads more energy. Not at my goal yet, but I will get there in 2019 I hope.

Wishing you luck, motivation and a sense of humour!

AFridgeTooFar · 27/12/2018 11:58

A sense of humor is a must...I have that in buckets!

Aaaaand we're off!

I was going to wait until NYD to take these photos...but everyone has gone shopping, and I thought I'd do it now while I had the balls opportunity.

And the weird thing?

You can't see, because of how I'm holding my phone...but I'm actually smiling in them!!!

Something has changed this time. I'm so excited...and so damn positive!!!

OP posts:
AFridgeTooFar · 30/12/2018 11:29

Damnit! How do I add pics?

OP posts:
KeepCalm · 30/12/2018 11:41

Well done @AFridgeTooFar well done. If I only had half your energy!

halfwitpicker · 30/12/2018 11:44

Best of British op, you can do this! You got it 👍

AFridgeTooFar · 30/12/2018 11:45

Ironic that I have so much energy NOW isn't it? If I'd had it last year, my butt wouldn't need it's own postcode right now!

Seriously...can I please send my photos to someone to upload for me?
I have Hardly Any Eyes (registered blind) and I struggle with some shit 🤣

If you pm them to me @AFridgeTooFar, I'll try and post them for you x

AFridgeTooFar · 30/12/2018 11:58

I think I did it!!! Can you see pictures?

Sorry about the pigsty behind me. I could have tidied up...but...I didn't want to! 🤣

Good luck fridge.

Looking forward to folliwing your progress 💪🏻

Strongbeatsskinny · 30/12/2018 12:13

You’ve got this op sounds like you mindset is in exactly the right place

AFridgeTooFar · 30/12/2018 12:23

Thank you!

I'll be writing about it in my blog.

Oh- I'm a reg btw...I name changed. I wish I hadn't now, as, in the days since I posted the OP, I've become completely transparent, gotten on the scales IN FRONT OF MY HUSBAND!- and I have nothing to hide!

I'm usually AllRoadsLeadBackToRadley.

RedPandaMama · 30/12/2018 13:10

Yes OP you go!!!

I have about the same to lose as you but don't want to go too low into healthy BMI. Could lose 8 stone and still be healthy BMI but I'd be super happy at 10/11ish. I was 12 stone a few years ago but quite muscular with a low body fat ratio and looked bloody brilliant. I've let it all go now and am feeling super motivated for the new year! Can I weigh in with you? Gonna weigh and take 'before' pics on NYD.

Myusername2015 · 30/12/2018 13:16

Love your positivity! I’ve got a good 6-7 stone to lose and I’m also determined this is the year; no more fads for me! Look forward to seeing your progress

AFridgeTooFar · 30/12/2018 13:19

Of course! I'll be weighing in on Tuesdays, because I'm sick of the whole 'Starting Monday' bollocks!

And I'll be posting progress pics every two weeks.

I was 224lb (16 stone) when I weighed the other day. I doubt that will change in two days...but I'll be weighing anyway.

Are you on MFP? If you are, and you'd like to add me, my name is DeathlyHallows2

Good woman Fridge - will be following your thread and cheering you on

thingersandfumbs · 30/12/2018 15:44

Me too! I'm feeling excited too. I'm going to use RH fitness as I quite like the discipline of a plan to follow. I'm within 4lbs of your start weight, too. Will be watching with interest!

AFridgeTooFar · 30/12/2018 16:24

So I'd like to post this link to my blog...MNHQ I hope it's allowed? It's positive, and honest, and All Things Me?

This is not a fish for "likes" or any of that bollocks. It's apparantly quite funny!

I'd just like you guys to get a feel of "what

FancyDrew · 31/12/2018 19:08

Ooh I like your approach to this, and your positivity. Your thread 'speaks' to me!! SmileI have a very similar amount to lose. About 6-7 stone. And I too feel positive about 2019 being the year I crack it. 2018 was a really challenging year for me- a lot of uncertainty and uphill battles, but I feel I can focus on my health and weight more in 2019. I love a spreadsheet too, although I've never really got on with MFP even though I really want to (I feel I should like it but I find it fiddly). I love your blog and will be following with interest and also I hope losing weight alongside you!

AFridgeTooFar · 31/12/2018 19:19

Thank you!

You can do this!!!

OP posts:
fezzesarecool · 31/12/2018 19:24

You’ve definitely got this!

AFridgeTooFar · 31/12/2018 19:27

Isn't it weird that, at a time when I'm the most unfit, and unhealthy, that I've ever been, I'm feeling so damn strong?.?

OP posts:
Chrissmasjammies · 31/12/2018 19:32

Good for you! I am the same I just feel it that this year 2019 is going to be my year to get back to my best self. I have 2.5 to 3 stone of mostly baby weight to lose and would love some buddies on the journey.

AFridgeTooFar · 31/12/2018 19:41

Chris consider yourself buddied up! 🤣

My TDEE IS 1677 according to online calculator. I'm not very tall and have sedentary job. Am 39 turning 40 in May and would love to be fit and trim. Suppose I will aim for around 1200 a day. I prefer nutrachek to mfp
