Anyone in?

Im doing dry jan which will help, better meal planning, and upping the water intake. No official "plan" in mind yet but will look to choosing one soon.

Im weighing in Jan1st, currently just shy of 14stone. I need to hit 9 1/2 to hit a healthy BMI.

Fridge well bloody done!!! That's all down to your hard work. You can do this.

Tulip some of it will be water weight though.

Did I mention that I've Aspied my wardrobe? (Before you kick me...I'm allowed. I'm a bona fide Aspie🤣). DH built a wardrobe which happens to have five shelves in it. So I've ordered my clothes by size. Stuff that fits me now is in a drawer in another unit. The top shelf of the wardrobe is my size 18s. Every two weeks, on the same day as I take my progress shots, I'll try on the size 18s. When everything on that shelf fits, I'll give the stuff in the drawer (that fits me now) to a charity shop. Then the next shelf down- the size 16s- will be my next target. For every item I get to move to the "Fits Me Now" drawer, I'll chuck something OUT of that drawer info the charity shop bag. And I'll move down the shelves that way. It's a way of celebrating, even when the scales don't move, and it soothes my Aspie mind, and stops it from trying to recite Pii to 89 numbers (65 atm, just in case anyone's interested 🤣🤣🤣)

TulipsInbloom1 · 06/01/2019 17:51

Sounds like a really good technique. Not having the clothes to "go back to" is likely to help too.

I'm SO close to one of the pairs of jeans in there! Aaaargh!

TulipsInbloom1 · 06/01/2019 18:00

I have a beautiful dress from Phase Eight from my pre kids days. The day I comfortably fit into that, I'll be happy to just maintain my weight from then on. It's the only pre-fat clothes I still have, apart from my wedding dress. They are both a size 10; but generous fits. I'm a 16 now so apparently 10lbs is a clothes size - in about 30lbs I may well be into them. Though I'm aiming by the end of the year to be 52lbs down.

Love the clothes plan @AFridgeTooFar -
My size 20's are now too big and some 18's fit others don't! When I've hit my weight goal we're going to try for a baby so don't know if any of the bigger sizes would save me from getting as many maternity things?! Or whether I should just ditch now while I'm ahead!

Pinkroseuk · 06/01/2019 18:05

Love that dress @TulipsInbloom1!

AwdBovril · 06/01/2019 18:05

I had pannettone with butter for brunch (a bit naughty, but it needed eating)
Dinner is to be oven baked sea bass & a big salad. Maybe some fruit & kefir after.

Weigh-in day is tomorrow. Don't expect I'll have lost much, if any, over Christmas. I did lose some, but calories found me... grr.

AFridgeTooFar · 06/01/2019 18:07

Pink ditch. Please don't think I'm a cunt for this- I'm not...I'm just blunt?- but it may be a few months before you conceive, and a few months after THAT that you have to wear maternity clothing. Meanwhile, you'll have the temptation of your "comfy" clothes to wear if you slide. ❤❤

TulipsInbloom1 · 06/01/2019 18:14

pink ditch. Especially trousers/skirts. Once pregnant the mat stuff with the elasticated bands are just priceless and way more comfy than sizing up.

So, I've just completed my first 7 days. Goals I have stuck to...

  • no scales.
  • no sugary crap.
  • eating a wide variety of vegetables Envy
AFridgeTooFar · 06/01/2019 18:18

YAY!!!!

Pinkroseuk · 06/01/2019 18:44

Thanks @TulipsInbloom1 and @AFridgeTooFar I will have a cull then!
There is one jumper I'm attached to as my grandma knitted it for me before she died so that will stay but the rest is going!
Also culling the size 8s that I have as there's no way I'm ever gonna get into them/ had most when at school during gcse years!!

TulipsInbloom1 · 06/01/2019 18:51

I have as some of my goals this year "buy a pair of size 14 jeans" and further down the list "buy a pair of size 12 jeans". I'd be ecstatic if I was a size 12 by Christmas. I'm only 5'2 so even a 12 is "too big" for my height technically but it's a realistic and sensible year end target.

TulipsInbloom1 · 06/01/2019 18:52

Pink what a lovely memento to have.

OP posts:
Pinkroseuk · 06/01/2019 18:54

@TulipsInbloom1 I'm 5'2' too- I'm aiming for a 12 too! Although it's technically still too much I was happy when a 12 before so aiming for that again.
The gynaecologist at hospital gave me 4 months to loose 30kg which I thought was too much and I'm never going to hit it by March :/

SusanWalker · 06/01/2019 18:55

Well done everyone. Love the wardrobe idea. Have had a middling day. If I stay the same this week I'll be happy. I am in the middle of ordering a healthy shop to come tomorrow. My cold is on the wane but still left with a very phlegmy chest which is very annoying.

NewFitMe · 06/01/2019 19:38

Well done fridge!! And I absolutely love that wardrobe idea.

I’m doing ok I guess. I’ve stuck to eating between 10-6 and taken at least 10000 steps everyday. I haven’t eaten any sweets or like that and the scale still doesn’t move!! It’s bloody frustrating! I’m not gonna give up, hell no! I just wish I’d see some results soon. I’m gonna start the C25K tomorrow. And hopefully start mealprepping at some point this week. Maybe even count calories or macros. Just don’t want to make too big chances too soon and give up.

Fiontar649 · 06/01/2019 19:42

I got rid of my 20s trousers. My 18s are "snug" at the moment, but the digging in waistband will keep me focused (under a long top to stop my poor work colleagues seeing my hoo-ha 🙈)

Back to work tomorrow after a fortnight of casual clothes, it might be a squeeze in the morning.

I keep a charity bag in my utility room. As clean too-big clothes come out of dryer, they go straight in the bag, instead of back into circulation.

AFridgeTooFar · 06/01/2019 21:09

I've also put all of my baggy men's tees into DH's drawers...never to be worn by me again! Except for the one I keep at the bottom of the bed in case I need to pee in the night (I sleep nakey, and I wouldn't want to scare any burglars!)

NakedAvenger · 06/01/2019 23:10

@FATEdestiny thank you so much for posting. A real life person showing it CAN be done is hugely inspirational.

Looking at what you dropped you had some weeks which were big drops of 4-7lbs but others where you had an 0.5 or a 1.5. They are all amazing losses but do you recall if this was down to doing anything differently or is it just that weight loss isn't linear?

I can start really well and make a bunch of great losses and get a good routine but after a couple of weeks I see low to no loss which I find massively demotivating. I think 'well this diet isn't working' and think why I am denying myself when I get no outcome and slip back to old habits.

LittleDoritt · 06/01/2019 23:29

Well done Fridge, that is awesome!! I'll be well pleased with a third of that. And your aspie wardrobe sounds amazing. I'm tempted to go through my clothes in the morning...

Sorry for all the poorly peeps. Dieting when ill is HARD.

"Eat for my body and not my emotions" - Spiky, I love that. I'm so guilty of emotional eating but it's much less tempting when there is only lean meat and veg on offer.

Pink, controversially I did keep my "fat" clothes for my second pregnancy and got lots of use out of them. They are long gone now and I could do with them shamefully.

Another good day here. I'm getting quite complacent. Grin Probably fall on my arse tomorrow. Children back to school on Tuesday so I'll need to get myself in a good routine with no one to stop me hit the snack cupboard.

AFridgeTooFar · 07/01/2019 06:46

It's Monday! The Day I start my di- oh...wait a minute...

😜😀

Embracethechaos · 07/01/2019 06:51

Hi, ok to join now? I have a 6 month old baby andIn November/December time was the first time I weghed myself and I was 10 kg heavier than my pre pregnancy weight which was ideal 55kg-65 kg. However I think my scales are not great as I was going up in weight every week, weighed at 73, yesterday... Held my baby to see her weight and I worked out she was about 5kg, which is lighter than a month ago and that's definitely wrong. So, scale recommendations?
