We are determined to lose something in November - half a stone would be fab but realistically whatever you can. Come join us and be lighter by the start of December - what a great advent gift to yourself that would be!

We have as many different weight-loss approaches as we have posters, absolutely everyone welcome. Let's get started!

Hey all!

Today was a good day. Flying over to London tomorrow for a week so will need to be careful about the hotel breakfasts.

I've also booked afternoon tea for Saturday so that will be my treat day for the month.

Gym v.early tommorrw before I head off.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 22/11/2018 07:36

Have a good trip Judy.

It's so true about the weather making you crave comfort foods. I've had a successful couple of days of not snacking or binging loads of crap. I feel so much better for it. I'm just taking one day at a time and trying not to think of it as having to "start again" every time I have a lapse.

HairsprayBabe · 22/11/2018 09:02

Morning all, DPs shifts at work are a bit skew at the mo, so I had dinner at 2pm yesterday then just had vegsticks and hummus at tea time, don't think it will make too much of a difference long term, am in meetings all day and we are supposed to be going to Nandos for dinner
Koko all!

lastqueenofscotland · 23/11/2018 00:01

Had a goldenish day today.
At a wedding tomorrow so all bets might be off Confused

HairsprayBabe · 23/11/2018 10:02

Hello?! Is this thing on?

Where is everyone... have I scared you all off?

Yesterday by diet standards was ok ish 1300

On a personal level it was a bit of a disaster, DPs motorbike tyre blew out on a roundabout and he came off, he is fine just shaken really... it was only about a 5 min walk from home so he decided to push the bike home rather than get a call out. So now I am waiting in for the bike mechanic to come and get said bike to replace the tyre. Hoping it won't cost more than £100 - tyre should cost about £30, moving it to the garage will be £20 quid but I have no idea about labour. And poor old DP had to get up at 5am to get two busses to work Sad

So we didn't go out for dinner last night and instead had pie veg and mash, saved me some calories in the long run but I would rather he had not blown out the tyre....

QuimReaper · 23/11/2018 10:02

Hi everyone!

Well, weigh-in at the end of a golden week, and since last Thursday I've lost... 100g Grin

I'm happy with that because a) I said last week that with 4 eatanddrinkeverything days + 4 golden days I'd be happy with a STS, so this is a tiny bit of progress, and b) I'm FINALLY back in the right kg bracket. I'll be golden as golden can be again next week, but then I'm going to a conference Mon and Tue and the temptation to hoover hotel breakfasts, sandwiches and biscuits will be strong.

Queenie at weddings I tend to take Very Small Victories - as in, I (almost certainly) have no control over the meal; I know I'll drink a gallon of Champagne; it'd be rude not to partake in a slice of cake; but if I manage to only have one go at the cheese table I call that golden behaviour Grin Enjoy it!

judy your dedication to the gym on these ghastly winter mornings is very impressive!

TV I forgot it's your birthday this week - happy birthday! What lovely definitely-not-diet-friendly things have you got planned for yourself this weekend?

QuimReaper · 23/11/2018 10:12

Oh God Hairspray poor you, what a horrid stressful evening! Thank heavens he was OK though, it must have been so frightening for him. Has he come off before? I hope he's not traumatised. I haven't been on a bike (a push bike, not a motorbike Blush) since I had a spectacular spill a couple of summers ago, even though there was no serious damage. Keep meaning to but it took the fun out of it for me. I guess it's different when it's your daily mode of transport, but he must be a bit wobbly nonetheless. Hope you have a nice treat lined up for tonight to make up for your missed Nando's?

HairsprayBabe · 23/11/2018 10:46

Yes he came off badly in May last year, he is always fully suited up so no lasting damage but he was wobbly about it for a while.

He was so annoyed last night keeps going on about selling the bike, but then his commute is more like an hour and a half rather than 20 mins... so I think he will keep it. He would prefer a car but the bike is just so much cheaper to own and run over all...

We have home made curry on the menu for tonight, but we might get a takeaway tomorrow!

Autumnnymph · 23/11/2018 11:12

@Hairspraybabe - how scary!! glad your DP is okay!

I have been golden this week but mid week weigh in shows I have maintained with no loss. However i am PMSing and hormonal so I am happy with just maintaining this week.

No idea what I am going to cook today - I may be getting a bit overboard with buying DD Christmas gifts on the Black Friday sale.

ponygirlcurtis · 23/11/2018 15:53

Glad DP was OK, what a shock for him.

I am definitely creeping back up - only by a pound so far but that's how it starts! I will try and claw it back next week. Hope everyone has a good weekend

Oh no Hairspray Flowers how frightening. Glad he's ok.

Quim - just reading back and I'd missed your post to me a few days ago. Thanks for the kind words.

I'm feeling quite motivated this week. I was back at 11 2 yesterday. I forgot to weigh myself this morning before my porridge and 3 cups of tea but I'll make sure I do tomorrow.

What's everyone up to this weekend?

Sukiesue12 · 24/11/2018 11:18

Despite 3 meals out this week and no time for exercise I haven’t gained anything so am taking that as a positive. Another 2 meals out next week and then I am back on the drive to get down 3kg by Christmas.
Have a good weekend everyone!

lastqueenofscotland · 24/11/2018 14:36

Hairspray hope your DP is ok!

Avoided the cake at the wedding but that is all I have to take that’s positive Confused

Autumnnymph · 24/11/2018 19:16

Hello all, I have lost a tiny 100 gm in todays weigh in but then ended up with a lunch out at an Italian place so may have gained that back!

Autumnnymph · 26/11/2018 19:39

Hope everyone is doing well; its quiet here! Weigh in today was great. I am now at 57.5 so have 4 more days to lose another 500 gms to reach my November goal of 57 kgs. That will also take me out of the 9 stone plateau I have been on so here is to 4 more extra golden days and hoping I can knock the last half kilo off!

QuimReaper · 27/11/2018 12:56

Hi everyone! Plodding along here in Quimville - I plan to be golden this week and next, but then I have midweek plans for four weeks on the trot, (!!) so trying to make extra good progress before all the mania kicks in. Argh! I'll still manage three good days a week (except Christmas week, obviously) so hopefully I'll manage to keep some measure of control. At last count I was still 900g shy of my 'target weight', I've been treading water for absolutely months, it's pretty boring.

Autumn well done on the weigh-in, a great way to start the week, and I bet you can kick 500g in four days - we'll be cheering you on Grin

Sukie a STS with three meals out under your belt is a definite victory. 3kg in as many weeks(ish) sounds do-able in theory, but you're brave to attempt it in December, the month of cheese and pastry!

Hairspray how's MrHair doing now? Is the bike back up and running?

TVHubbyClaire · 27/11/2018 18:57

Had a very busy and enjoyable birthday weekend. Lots of diet busting meals and cake and alcohol. Scales did not make good reading yesterday but back to work today so better eating starts again.
Hopefully a wee bit lighter by Friday's end of month weigh in

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 27/11/2018 20:49

Happy birthday TV. Sounds like everyone is plodding along. Its much the same here.

A couple of good days where I hit 11 2, take my eye off the ball and hit 11 4, panic and get back to 11 2.

11 2 is the top end of my normal bmi so I sound the klaxon when I go much over.

I bought a really lovely desiguel top off eBay for £8.50 this week. I want to wear it to the Christmas do on the 18th. It just about fits but if I want to be able to breathe I think I need to lose about 3lb. (And move a couple of buttons Grin)

Would be good to start the Christmas season with a bit of leeway. When do everyone's events start? Mine is next Wednesday with an evening eating chocolate for charity. It would be rude not to Wink

I was just about to wish everyone a good weekend but it's only Tuesday Sad. It's going to be a looong week.

lastqueenofscotland · 28/11/2018 07:24

Kick I’m having a long old week too Angry
Been extra golden the last two days though... for me anyway

Kick chocolate eating for charity?! That sounds amazing! Grin

I've got people coming over for festive drinks on the 7th which will hopefully be our Christmas Kickoff - I'm going to hang a bunch of fairy lights on that afternoon so it should be the start of feeling all festive!

I'm smashing it on steps this week in spite of the vile weather, for which I'm fairly sure I deserve a medal. I got drenched yesterday and probably will again today. I think I'll knock up some slow cooker leek chicken soup to warm us up this evening - what's everyone else having?

QuimReaper · 28/11/2018 11:12

Koko there's a lot of clear blue sea between 1800 and 1300, let alone 800! Sounds like 1600 would be do-able?

QuimReaper · 29/11/2018 09:34

if I drop to 1600 I'll not really see much loss at all, poss less than 0.5 a week in theory?

And stay the same or gain....

This seems to be the cycle. You seem to want to go really extreme in order to see results, go for something you can't sustain, seize up, and repeat. I forget how long you've been on the threads, but about as long as I have I think - can I ask what kind of progress you've made? Far be it for me to criticise anyone's methods (my own are hardly orthodox!) but I get the feeling you've been stalling for a long time?
