We are determined to lose something in November - half a stone would be fab but realistically whatever you can. Come join us and be lighter by the start of December - what a great advent gift to yourself that would be!

We have as many different weight-loss approaches as we have posters, absolutely everyone welcome. Let's get started!

I’ve been good as fucking gold this week and put on 3lbs Angry wtf?!?!?!?

Gilbert82 · 09/11/2018 11:07

Thanks Grin Well done to you too
Arghhh how annoying, probably just water weight x

Therealjudgejudy · 09/11/2018 14:00

Hi all. Not been to the gym the past 2 days as the weather here is awful and my motivation has been zapped.

Work is crazy busy too but on a plus side...I've no appetite anyway...always the same when I'm stressed. Hope everyone else is doing ok.

goingonabearhunt1 · 09/11/2018 14:26

Still too scared to weigh but have done 2 exercise classes this week and stayed on track with MFP. Just need to not come undone over the weekend! Going for lunch tomorrow but healthy-ish and will have small tea to compensate. Mian problem is wine with a friend tonight. I definitely want some but I wish they sold wine in smaller bottles for when you only want like one big glass (they do in big Tescos but I don't have time to go there, just wish they had it everywhere).

Sukiesue12 · 10/11/2018 11:02

Can I join? I have lost 15kg in the past couple of years but would love to lose another 7-10kg to get me firmly into the middle of a healthy BMI. However I seem to gain and lose the same kilo over and over again. I want to push and start the new year in the healthy BMI range.

Autumnnymph · 10/11/2018 11:19

Weighed in again today and holding steady at 58.2 - while i would have loved to see slightly more drop off - i am still pleased. Now just need to stay sane over the weekend.

Welcome @SukieSue12 ! I am in a similar situation where I am struggling to lose the last 5 kgs to put me in the middle of the healthy BMI rather than the top end but seem to be losing and gained the same kilo over and over again for a while now!

Went to the Drs over bad knee yesterday and he weighed me as 61kg which is 9st8.5

But then I went home and weighed at 9.10 so I don't know what I can trust!

Have scan at the hospital in a few weeks to determine cause of bad knee that I have been ignoring since I was 18

outreach29 · 13/11/2018 09:58

Hi Kokoloco and Hairspraybabe welcome to the thread!!

I'm doing low carb and basically no sugar or white flour at all plus no alcohol (hard core for me) and for my first week have lost around 1.5 kgs. Like Kokoloco I'm absolutely determined this time, and will not be finishing my hardcore healthy eating plan until March 2019 - and hopefully will have instilled some better habits in by then. My mum had developed type 2 diabetes by my age next year,, and I don't want to be following in her footsteps on that score.

Not hungry at all now, but not sure that's such a great thing as super constipated (sorry for the TMI) despite eating loads of fruit/veg/high fibre foods. Also drinking plenty of water +++ Despite being low carb, have had porridge some mornings etc...If anyone has a great solution to my 'problem' I'm all ears Grin

How is everyone else doing as we are nearly half way through November?

outreach29 · 13/11/2018 10:00

sorry hairspraybabe - just seen your previous post. I would go with the doctors office weight - definitely !! Grin

HairsprayBabe · 13/11/2018 10:34

Oh god this is how piss poor I have be come at posting that people think I am a newbie!!!

Hi @outreach29 ! I have been a slenderista for coming up 3 years I lost about 6st total with the support of these lovely people (gained 5lbs back in the last year though) also a low carber and a BIG fan of the Quim method! Life went a bit wonky in Feb of this year so have only been posting once or twice a month but I am getting married in less than a year so now I have to knuckle down and get the last half a stone off!

As for your ahem problem try this super glamorous product.www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/holland-barrett-colon-care-plus-powder-60004741
Works a treat - I put a tsp in a smoothie

Therealjudgejudy · 13/11/2018 13:58

Hi all...popping in on my lunch break. Gym this morning. Was crazy busy...seems to always be on a Tuesday!

Courgette salad, a satsuma and a kiwi was just inhaled for lunch. Pesto pasta with red and yellow peppers is the plan for dinner this evening.

Back to work now. Keep at it everyone.

QuimReaper · 13/11/2018 16:50

Hello all! Sorry I've been rubbish at posting too - when I weighed in on Friday I was 800g down so that was a good start. I'd been AMAZING step- and food-wise so I was secretly hoping for more Blush but I think that's mainly because I hoped my weigh-in the week before was a blip! I guess it was not... I've got theatre tickets on Thursday night so this week won't be golden, but I'll weigh in on Thursday morning and hope for a STS. Then I'll have three weeks clear to try and kick a kilo and a bit. (How many times have I said that in the last six months?!)

Also I have a bit of a dilemma. MIL has given us a load of winter squash, so tonight I'm showing willing and doing a chicken and squash traybake thing. However, I generally keep my midweek meals carb-free - it only just occurred to me that eating a big pile of squash is basically the same as having a big pile of potatoes, am I right? I've been trying to work out the carb content but not having much luck!

queenie have you been doing some kind of mad runs / gym sessions? That seems like a very disproportionate gain, might be time for new batteries for the scale?

Well done on the losses Spurious (did you just sneak into a new stone bracket?!) and Gilbert, for the golden behaviour judy and bearhunt, and for holding firm Hairspray and Autumn! Hair you must ALWAYS take the lower weight - scales can overreact and tell you a higher number than is true, but you can't stand on them and not have all of your weight represented, and that is 100% verifiably true scientific fact based on the laws of physics and stuff. (Wink)

Also welcome Sukie! Gosh you've done stupendously to lose so much already, it's so annoying when you start to plateau - what's been your strategy so far?

QuimReaper · 13/11/2018 17:01

Koko so sorry to hear about that dream - it does sound like all this is really getting in your head, you poor thing.

How many calories are you averaging these days? 1100 sound awfully low, and correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't going too low driven you round the twist in the past?

hello all! Sorry i have been so rubbish at posting this month - days seem to be flying past me this month!

MId week weigh in - still holding firm but i have lost an inch off my waist!

As i am cooking all my meals now, i am definitely eating way healthier.

Todays breakfast was savoury oats porridge with mixed vegetables. Lunch is going to be a quinoa and corn soup and for dinner I am thinking of making a vegetable biryani but using lapsi rather than rice with a side of raita.

I am also baking for a bake sale at DDs school so will spend the afternoon trying not fall face first into the cookies and cake.

Autumnnymph · 14/11/2018 08:44

@kokoloco a bit late - i use MFP and just ignore the 1200 recommendation . For me to lose I need to stick to 1000 - As a shortie with a small frame - I simply don't need as many calories as someone taller than me. If i eat anything more than 1200 I gain unless I have upped my activity to compensate.

What is WLR?

HairsprayBabe · 14/11/2018 09:07

Came in at 1300 yesterday, so not too bad...

We have pie and veg for dinner have skipped breakfast no idea what I am having for lunch, yesterday I had ryvita and hummus... but I want something hot today. Working from home which is dangerous as I have full access to the kitchen all day!

I was low carb for a long time, nowadays I am just trying to keep within calorie limits, it is nice not having any foods "banned"

and even though I have only been MFPing for a week or so it is amazing and so much easier than my natty little note book that I used to drag around with me!

QuimReaper · 14/11/2018 09:49

Hairspray wooo! Welcome to eight years ago the future! Grin

TVHubbyClaire · 14/11/2018 09:55

Apologies for not posting much this month

To be honest, not much to post about, have been up and down in life and weight.

Didnt eat much on Saturday but blew out with a big steak dinner for DS and I as it his weekend with me, drank a bottle of red and had a gin first and finished off with cheese and chocolates...

Back at 11st 11 today so no lasting damage but again just floating between 11st 10 and 11st 12.

It is a good place to be and in the year and a half i have been here I have moved the belt I wear with work trousers out 2 notches..a belt hole that had never been used before so really quite pleased with that.

Would just like to be around 11 1/2 and would be delighted with that but I wonder if physically I just can't get there. An extra couple of Lindas off before Christmas madness strikes would be very welcome.

Its my birthday next week and I have a big dinner for that but also a couple of other nights out with friends from my old local celebrating the same birthday for one of the girls there so booze is going to be an issue...Hmm

HairsprayBabe · 15/11/2018 10:12

Weighed on the home scales at 9st9 after a bit of flickering about

Lovely to be back in single figures all round

QuimReaper · 15/11/2018 11:46

TV happy birthday for next week - birthdays are carte blanche to eat whatever you like and hang the bloody diet - plenty of boring Unbirthday weeks to make up for it! Grin

Well done Hairspray, I know what you mean about single figures - there are some milestones which seem arbitrary but just make you happy.

I weighed in at 200g less than last Friday which is rather nice as I was hoping for a STS! Out at the theatre tonight which will involve wine, so next Friday I'll hope for a STS again. I might find the incentive to go Mega Golden to try and get into the right kg category before the Festive Business starts...

HairsprayBabe · 15/11/2018 11:58

I feel like I am finally back in the ZONE Quimmy

I am amazed that I have been fully off wagon for 8-9months and I really only gained 6lbs I think I will always have to keep an eye on my weight but I think I am working towards lifestyle not diet! So hopefully once I am back down to about 9st - for the wedding Wink I will be able to maintain.

Ideally would like to get down to 9st by summer, that way I can focus on maintaining up to the wedding and beyond, rather than being lowest low on the morning of the wedding and then falling off the wagon spectacularly on honeymoon! - Paris btw, tres cliché I know!

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 16/11/2018 07:55

Well done Hairspray Star

You'll definitely do it with such a major incentive. Sorry if I've missed it but have you picked a dress yet?

I'm definitely NOT in the zone. Blush I'm trying not to worry about it too much. I have been struggling a bit with work stress, low mood and generally feeling a bit meh. I realised a couple of weeks ago that I had fallen into the trap of dieting all day, comfort eating in the evening and beating myself up about it.

I've decided to relax a bit and eat normally but not excessively and focus on getting my fitness back after my Achilles problems.

I've been out walking and cycling a lot (and running a little) and trying to build up my social life a bit.

The good news is the scales haven't really moved, and I feel more toned. I also feel a bit more positive. Also I'm still only 1lb above a normal BMI. I would like to get back safely into the normal zone in the new year but I'll get there.
