A stone by Christmas

Is it possible and who will join me?

This stone has been with me for many years now since youngest was born... five years ago! I really want it gone especially as the weight is mainly around my middle.

So starting today:
Weight 11.8 stone or 75kg
Height 5.7 or 1.70

Using my fitness pal with target daily calories of 1,200. Aiming to reduce sugar / carbs and increase water intake. Exercise when possible but it's a juggling act with kids/work, maybe 3 workouts per week plus walk when I can.

Would love some company!

Made beef stir fry with rice noodles and crispy veg tonight and was surprised at how big a portion I could have for limited calories, if that makes sense.

Definitely one to repeat!

rhubarb I do quite like walking and should definitely do more!

Not had a great day today......

Took my parents out to lunch and had a baked potato with cheese and coleslaw

Tomorrow is another day Smile

RhubarbCrumbled · 09/11/2018 05:56

Shalll Beef stir fry sounds lovely. I think that’s going to be added to the menu.

My chronic illnesses have ramped up this week and I've been bedbound so not a good week at all. Was hoping I may feel up for a small walk today but it seems I'm probably not. So frustrating. Ah well. Will still weigh in on Sunday and hope to have not gained! Not a good first week. Well done to all of you for doing so well. I always thought weight loss was easy. Oh how wrong I was!

OldTownNew · 09/11/2018 08:39

Bit late to the party but can I join?

I'm 5ft8 and 12st, I've lost 4lbs in the past few weeks but caved at the beginning of this week and ate two 200g bars of dairy milk and a share bag of maltesers

Sticking to 1000kcals a day for the next few days to try and counteract the huge amounts of chocolate! Then will be trying to stick to 1500kcals a day!

Breakfast today:
Sweet potato toast, mushrooms and two eggs. Normally have avocado with it but I've run out!

BaconAndAvocado · 09/11/2018 09:54

oldtown what the bejeebers is sweet potato toast? Sounds glorious!

RhubarbCrumbled · 09/11/2018 10:04

Yes oldtown, what's sweet potato toast?!

Here's my update from yesterday:
B: Porridge, 0% yogurt, raspberries, milk (7)
L: Lentil soup with goats cheese, apple, pear, popchips, chicken bits, kitkat (11)
D: smoked salmon and cream cheese on toast (I was so sick of veg!) (7)
Supper: options (2)
Exercise: W2D2 c25k, 14k steps

And I need new scales. Mine seem to only want to show certain weights - it can't be a coincidence that I ALWAYS at 10st 02lbs when I go up and down?! And they haven't shifted this week so therefore they're broken.

OldTownNew · 09/11/2018 10:06

Bacon you just get a fat sweet potato, slice in lengthways into 1/4 inch slices and bake it. But once it's cooked you can keep in the fridge and when you need to heat it up just stick in the toaster. It's amazing! You can cook it in the toaster as well if you like but it takes a few goes to get it cooked.

Super low calories though, two slices are around 60-80kcals and it is glorious with eggs!!

Shalll · 09/11/2018 11:29

OldTown right that's it I'm making sweet potato toast next week. Sounds glorious!!

Rhubarb I actually changed to analogue scales for similar reasons. My digital ones were showing either the same weight for ages or massive inexplicable variations within a five minute period.

RhubarbCrumbled · 09/11/2018 11:38

Shall, which scales do you have?

Really bad week here!! All of my meal planning has gone out the window due to broken cooker plus dd had a school performance 2 evenings which resulted in 'quick teas' so I was hungry after and snacked once they were in bed!
I have been logging all food on mfp though and coming out about 300 calories a day over my allotted 1200!! Which is still probably 600 less than I used to eat daily so I am hoping for a miracle and a bit of movement tomorrow when I weigh in!!

RhubarbCrumbled · 09/11/2018 12:12

2anddone for a bad week, that's not too bad at all! Apart from the broken oven and school performances that is...

halfwitpicker · 09/11/2018 12:45

That toast sounds fab

BlueCookieMonster · 09/11/2018 18:02

I weighed myself at the swimming pool and I haven’t lost a thing, I’m so disappointed. I’ve logged everything and have been eating so much better than I normally would.

2anddone · 09/11/2018 18:13

BlueCookieMonster don't be disheartened you need to weigh yourself at around the same time wearing roughly the same each week to have a true weight reading! I can go up or down by 2lb depending on what time of day I weigh so now always do it first thing on a Saturday morning. I get up use the bathroom then weigh myself in my pjs before I have a cup of tea or any breakfast. 💐

BlueCookieMonster · 09/11/2018 18:36

Yeah that’s true, I weighed myself there last week so figured it would help. Might just buy a set of scales.

2anddone · 10/11/2018 07:17

Good morning I have just weighed myself and have stayed the same this week (11st 1lb) slightly disappointed but considering I had a broken oven so meal planning went out the window a bit I am just pleased I didn't gain!
I always get to this point though where my clothes feel looser (my jeans come down without having to undo them!) and then I realise I don't have any money to buy new clothes so it's cheaper to put the weight back on!! Determined not to do it this time. I also really struggle to get below 11st maybe my scales are broken and won't go lower than that 😉

Boo2you · 10/11/2018 10:16

I really want to lose a stone by Xmas I've lost 1/2 a stone by joining a gym, cutting out snacks, reducing portion sizes and switching from white rice and pasta to brown! I don't want to cut carbs entirely but I'm now 10st 3ibs I need to be 10st2lbs to be normal BMI but I want to lose another stone so I can fit into my favourite clothes!! Any suggestions or just more of the same?

Shalll · 10/11/2018 16:49

2anddone I am the same - I've been close to the 70kg mark but since DC1 arrived the scales never seem to go below. This time though!!!

Had NO pizza last night is an achievement as it's our Friday treat. Boot camp and pt sessions in the last few days. I'm feeling positively athletic!

Evening all! How are we all?

Managed to stay in target on MFP, and did 15000 steps and park run today (so may have eaten one or two biscuits with my tea 🤪).

Breakfast was toast, lunch was soup, crackers and an Apple, dinner was veggie mince spag Bol. Snacks were an Apple, marmite rice cake, two biscuits and a random poppadom. Also had cheese on my dinner.

Whilst it’s a bit of a pain logging everything, it does make me think about my food.

RhubarbCrumbled · 11/11/2018 06:18

Morning. I’ve actually stuck with the diet and exercise for two weeks and looking good for a third! It’s the first time in a long time I’ve managed to stick!!
Yesterday was a totally relaxed day with hair and a massage but got a run in first thing.
B: porridge, apple, yogurt, milk (7)
L: mushrooms on toast (5)
D: chicken stuffed with goats cheese, sundried tomatoes and olives, baked chips and salad, apple pie, red wine (16)
S: options (2)

BlueCookieMonster · 11/11/2018 12:04

Two pounds down!! Wooo wooo!

Shalll · 11/11/2018 16:15

Wooohoo Blue well done!!

Just realised all my Christmas events (that I need to let ok fabulous for) are now not far away. Must step up the pace!!!

Trying to not get my hopes up for weighing tomorrow..

Just got off the exercise bike, fourth workout of the week

OP posts:
Shalll · 12/11/2018 07:20

Another 2kg down, now at 71kg!! Very very pleased. Will I break the magical 70kg barrier soon....??
