A stone by Christmas

Shalll · 29/10/2018 07:22

Is it possible and who will join me?

This stone has been with me for many years now since youngest was born... five years ago! I really want it gone especially as the weight is mainly around my middle.

So starting today:
Weight 11.8 stone or 75kg
Height 5.7 or 1.70

Using my fitness pal with target daily calories of 1,200. Aiming to reduce sugar / carbs and increase water intake. Exercise when possible but it's a juggling act with kids/work, maybe 3 workouts per week plus walk when I can.

Would love some company!

Arghhhh just got home from work my oven has broken so my hunters chicken with what should have been roast potatoes now is with chip shop chips 😤😤

slimchristmas · 06/11/2018 18:11

Can I join too? I need to be accountable and tend to nibble a lot of rubbish. I plan to weigh in on Mondays. I have plenty of weight to loose but a stone by Christmas would be a good start.

halfwitpicker · 06/11/2018 21:07

Glad it's not just me who finds it difficult.

I bloody love food but once I'm in the groove of not eating tons I'm fine. I reckon I'm averaging about 1400 cals per day, which seems miniscule but anyone more and I don't lose or even put weight on! But I'm 5'5 and work in a sedentary job, so hardly need 2000 cals per day.

It is very encouraging once5it starts coming off: skirts feel a bit looser and I look younger so it means I don't mind skipping cake or whatever.

Elloelloello123 · 06/11/2018 21:23

You're ready guy it is tough. Not been well today so eaten more than I should and not great stuff as I needed meds that require full meals. Breakfast was toast. Lunch pate on brioche which is not good but steak with new pots and veg for dinner. I like the Koko way of thinking!

Elloelloello123 · 06/11/2018 21:24

Oh and I'm also addicted to weighing myself. Really going to try and refrain from it until the weekend!

RhubarbCrumbled · 07/11/2018 06:10

Morning. Quick food diary update from yesterday:
B: porridge, 0%yogurt, fruit, milk (7)
L: lentil soup, prawn salad, apple, satsuma, popchips, kitkat (13)
D: Shepherds pie with veg (6)
Supper: options
15 mins yoga and 8k steps

Not the best day yesterday as I was so very tired and the lack of sugar and carbs! Must be doing me some good! Right. Shred. This just got serious 😆

SuzeD29 · 07/11/2018 06:56

Terrible day yesterday, had a stressful day and turned to good. Breakfast- Scotch pancake. Lunch- jumbo Sausage roll and Ham sandwich. Dinner- Sausage mash and veg. Evening binge on 2 Large slices of cake and a choc bar

Shalll · 07/11/2018 07:16

Ahh Suze it's so hard when you're having a stressful day! I turn to food too on those occasions.. today is another day

Rhubarb what is shred? Is it a type of exercise? I completely forgot to set my alarm for early morning workout, oh well, tomorrow!

We're off to the cinema later, must not eat my body weight in popcorn

RhubarbCrumbled · 07/11/2018 07:36

Suze today is another day.

Shalll 30 day shred is an exercise DVD from Jillian Michaels. I only do it when I’m feeling serious about getting fit!! Have a look on the exercise board and there are loads of threads on it.

helenb706 · 07/11/2018 09:00

BaconAndAvocado · 07/11/2018 13:11

HollyBen · 07/11/2018 13:52

Pretty good day here. Manages to take my measurements using a long shoe string and a metal retractable tape measure! Still twitching everytime I go to the bathroom...
Breakfast - 2 weetabix and banana
Lunch - Jacket potato, beans and salad
Dinner - Pasta with a tomato and veg sauce
Snacks - Boiled egg, grapes, pineaple, pear
Excercise - 15 mins HIIT, 12.5k steps

Shalll · 07/11/2018 17:05

BaconandAvocado that's hardly anything!

I definitely think my trousers are more comfortable!! Anyone else?

Unfortunately I do seem to lose weight around my legs before I lose it round my middle though..

Shalll

Evenings are worse for me!

And I've just eaten a huge M and S chocolate chip cookie ( God it was gorgeous)

Dinner is chilli con carne with wholemeal rice, then the plan is to just eat one Activia low fat yoghurt before bed.......

BaconAndAvocado · 07/11/2018 17:26

I must also add that I'm leading a very sedentary life currently. Apart from the school run I'm not getting any exercise. I need to get motivated!

RhubarbCrumbled · 08/11/2018 07:56

Morning! Avocado what sort of activity are you interested in? I know a lot of people start with walking as it's gentle and a good way to get used to fitting exercise into the day. I walk for 30 mins on a lunchtime and have now added in 30 mins other exercise on a morning or evening depending on the day. Start gently and build it up.

I'll be back to update properly once I know if I have Carfest tickets!!

RhubarbCrumbled · 08/11/2018 08:38

OK, I have tickets!

Onto the regular food and exercise update...
B: 2poached eggs on toast, fruit and yogurt, skim milk (7)
L: tuna and egg salad, popchips, fruit, nakd bar (9)
D: Chicken breast with sage and onion stuffing, yogurt (4)
Supper: Options (2) (I'm having this instead of tea to try and get my sleep back to something like normal!)
Exercise: 10k steps, 30mins shred (but I ache today)

KOKO everyone and keep us updated.

HollyBen · 08/11/2018 11:46

So I gave into to temptation and got on the scales. They showwd I had put weight on Confused I tried several times (as you do) and it kept getting worse!!! I am fairly certain I haven't put weight on but aaaarrrrggghhhhhh

BlueCookieMonster · 08/11/2018 12:16

Bacon I’m similar, it’s cheaper to loose weight than buy new clothes. Plus I hate the feeling of my dresses being slightly tight on my chest.

BlueCookieMonster · 08/11/2018 12:17

Is anyone on my fitness pal?

Shalll · 08/11/2018 12:36

Step away from the scales HollyBen!! There's no point, anything could be going on mid week in terms or water retention etc.. please don't get demotivated!

Bluecookiemonster I'm using MFP. It's a total eye opener in terms of how many calories I was consuming.

I'm about to head out and buy my lunchtime soup, with two boiled eggs. My life is so exciting...

OP posts:
HollyBen · 08/11/2018 14:50

Two boiled eggs is exciting to me shalll I lurves boiled eggs!!!!

I manged not to derail myself too much after my scales debacle
Breakfast- weetabix and banana
Lunch - Jacket potato with tuba mayo and salad
Dinner - steak, potatoes, carrot and gteen beans
Snacks - Boiled egg, grapes, apple, treat sized Crunchie, hob nob

helenb706 · 08/11/2018 15:36

I am on MFP too. I am a scales obsessive too... eventhoigh i have a Teasmade I won't use it as i weigh myself first thing in the morning. Decided to use Teasmade to break the ritual as there is no way i will weigh myself if a big mug of tea has been downed.

Luckily not hungry at all today so allowed myself my free supermarket latte whilst buying a bag of snack carrots. Litres of water, a dog walk and spin class... must not have wine tonight as reward!

BlueCookieMonster · 08/11/2018 16:04

I was in Costa trying to find something vaguely nice for lunch that didn’t have a million calories. Ended up just having toast with marmite, we’ll exciting.

Had quite a few grapes to make up for lack of fruit though.

We’re having pesto pasta for dinner. Won’t have the normal lashings of cheese I normally would have.

MFP has really opened my eyes to how many calories are in certain foods. It really adds up if you pick at something. Now if I pick I have to blinking add it to an app (which is depressing).

Although it’s nice to see when I do a run that I can use that towards a glass of wine 😂.

halfwitpicker · 08/11/2018 21:20

How's everyone doing?

Not too bad here, jeans are feeling looser, bought a LBD today that looks really good on, will wear it next week to work. Its really encouraging that I'm finally losing, keeps me focused!

Today's food:

2 eggs
Coffee
Greek yog and compote

Coffee once I got to work

An apple
A pot of natural yogurt

Got a chicken quesadillia as a treat, ate 2/3 of it, the rest I'll have tomorrow with some soup of something. Could have eaten the whole thing but didn't? Willpower eh, mind blowing

Another coffee

Dinner is beef stew or chicken something or other, if I can arsed to cook the chicken

There may be wine involved, just a small glass Wine
