A stone by Christmas

Shalll · 29/10/2018 07:22

Is it possible and who will join me?

This stone has been with me for many years now since youngest was born... five years ago! I really want it gone especially as the weight is mainly around my middle.

So starting today:
Weight 11.8 stone or 75kg
Height 5.7 or 1.70

Using my fitness pal with target daily calories of 1,200. Aiming to reduce sugar / carbs and increase water intake. Exercise when possible but it's a juggling act with kids/work, maybe 3 workouts per week plus walk when I can.

Would love some company!

Yeah, shalll, you're wasting away Grin

BlueCookieMonster · 05/11/2018 13:25

Managed to make my fitness pal happy with me yesterday by doing a 7k run which made me within target for calories.

I had cottage cheese on ryvitas for lunch, felt that was a nod to my poor Mother when she was dieting in my teens.

Otherwise we’re good here.

2anddone · 05/11/2018 14:06

Well done everyone on your losses. After a bad day yesterday I am polishing my halo today and eating really healthily 🤞 it can last the week!!

HollyBen · 05/11/2018 14:09

Todays food diary
Breakfast - 2weetabix with skimmed milk and sliced banana
Lunch - jacket potato with beans abd cheese, side salad
Dinner- pasta bolognese

BitOutOfPractice · 05/11/2018 14:11

Shall you need to avoid drains in case you fall down it!

SatsumaFan · 05/11/2018 15:59

Food diary. Feel like I haven't stopped eating today.

B: bran flakes with fresh raspberries
S: three thin oat cakes, a babybel and some apple slices
L: one slice toast with ham and two poached eggs on top. A few spoons of plain yoghurt with melon and strawberries.
S: banana and Special K cereal bar
D: tomato pasta and salad

HollyBen We seem to have similar food diaries sometimes. Have you done SW before? I've done it a few times so still meal plan and eat the SW way.

Shalll · 05/11/2018 16:29

Ha yes I'll make sure I don't disappear into thin air.

Those waist to height stats are interesting. My waist is definitely too big, yikes. It's a long road ahead!

So far today:

B: Skyr and blueberries
L: Pea soup, two boiled eggs, packet of crisps
S: NONE!

Will try not to eat everything in the fridge when I get home later.

Well I weighed myself this morning and my starting weight is 13 st 4 lb. more than I thought I would weigh so time to do something about it. I managed to resist the goodie tin at work and have got my slimming world books out to look through for inspiration.

Wow all of these losses are great. I'm on a mission now! I really am craving chocolate though already! Anyway today I have been good. Had a slice of toast, satsumas, and a grilled chicken with veg and potatoes. Will have some fruit for snack in a bit. Trying to drink more water as well as I'm rubbish at drinking alot. I'm determined to loose at least the stone by Christmas. Bring it on!

peachpearplum01 · 05/11/2018 20:14

Happy Monday everyone. Had a good first week with 3lb off - most of it post holiday bloat / water no doubt but still. And managed a 5k run yesterday.
Feeling pretty positive I can do it this time - weekends are my downfall but managed to keep using MFP over the weekend and stay just about within calorie target - apart from a sneaky mulled wine at the fireworks (sooo many calories in mulled wine)

Dontfeellikeaskeleton · 06/11/2018 01:23

Hope everyone had a skinny Monday.

Food today :
Bowl Greek yog, apple compote
2 eggs
Coffee

Coffee once I got to work

Rest of the cottage cheese
An apple

Another coffee Shock

Lunch was quiche and roasted veg

Dinner was burgers (homemade, no chips) , had a small bowl of veg soup too.
And a glass of wine.

Not too bad food wise. I used to eat almonds as a snack mid morning but have replaced them with yog /cottage cheese as they're just too high in cals. I'd rather have a glass of wine instead.

Tried on a dress tonight that is my 'I'm going to slim into this and look fab' dress and it is still a bit tight around the boobs/back. 3/4 pounds down and I reckon it'll fit.

Anyone else find weightloss hard? It's a hard battle, it really is. I swear it's taken me nearly 2 years to lose the baby weight.

I wish I'd have just gone on a LCHF diet last year to get it off quicker!

muddledmidget · 06/11/2018 04:50

11st7.5 for me yesterday, so down 2.5lb. I started off the week really well but fell off the wagon over the weekend and with a really stressy day at work on Monday. My mission this week is to be consistent through the week

MM x

Dontfeellikeaskeleton... i am finding it very hard. What is coming through on all our posts is that life gets in the way... if we were celebs with the ability to have personal trainers, personal chefs and people doing the endless monotonous chores combined with juggling jobs, eldery relatives etc. We could just focus on ourselves and do it. To go through all of the afore mentioned every day then not allow any sort of food/alcohol reward is hard... key thing is to moderate it and as the pounds drop off we will all feel better about ourselves and need the reward less. Group hug.

RhubarbCrumbled · 06/11/2018 10:09

Skeleton losing weight is so hard. I'm kicking myself as I lost so much weight in my second pregnancy and have let myself put it all back on. And a couple of years ago I completed a triathlon but can just about get through W2 of C25K. But that was because life happened and I dealt with all the other stuff and now I'm dealing with this.

But we're all here and we're all doing it and we're all doing amazingly well! I had a look at the the 100lbs to lose thread for inspiration yesterday (they are all amazing!!) and they all say KOKO. Keep on keeping on. One bad meal or one bad day or one bad week is not a problem so long as you KOKO.

Hauskat · 06/11/2018 10:14

.

RhubarbCrumbled · 06/11/2018 10:29

And on that note, I'm totally shattered! I've done 3 runs in 3 days plus walking and a bit of yoga. Friend walked into the office and asked if I was ok! Think it's time for a day off exercise.

Food for yesterday was:
B: porridge, pineapple, FFyogurt, milk (8)
L: lentil soup, tuna salad, apple, caramel wafer bar (6)
D: Shepherd's pie (6)
Supper: options hot chocolate with milk (3)
Exercise: 14k steps, 30mins wiifit, W2R1 C25K

HollyBen · 06/11/2018 10:59

My name is HollyBen and I am addicted to weighing myself! I 'hid' the scales yesterday and I now twitch each time I go into the bathroom with the desire to weigh myself. I need to take my measurements but cannot find the bloomin tape measure.

satsuma I did SW earlier in the year, and lost 15 lbs. Moved to SE Asia in the summer. Put about 7 lbs back on. I am basing my 'diet' on SW but it's tricky with the different brands and some things being unavailable

RhubarbCrumbled · 06/11/2018 12:20

Holly I know that twitch. I have 0.3lbs until I'm in the 9st bracket and keep weighing hoping that it's come off. As for measuring, do you have a piece of string and a ruler?

2anddone · 06/11/2018 13:26

Ok day so far
Rice crispiest for breakfast
Vegetable soup for lunch
So much water I don't seem to be off the toilet 😳
Hunters chicken minus the cheese for dinner with mini roast potatoes and sweet corn which will take me up to 1200.
I agree with pp life gets in the way. I am single mum to 2dc and can't get out and exercise as much as I would like (get bad backs so walking is all I can really manage!)

Shalll · 06/11/2018 13:37

I'm being sooo good today.

B: Skyr and berries
L: Kale couscous, salmon
D: Planning beef and veggie stir fry

I've also just had a very intensive PT session. Apparently 'fasted workouts' are the way to go, my PT says if I were to just get up 15 minutes earlier and have a short but high intensity workout before breakfast that'll make a massive difference..

I'll leave that thought with you while I continue to snooze my alarm clock..

Good plan Rhubarb I have found a metal measure tape so will dig out some wool or something tomorrow.

It is a national holiday here today so no work/school/nursery. We have been out all day. Did not too bad considering. Food today.
Breakfast- 2 weetabix with skimmed milk and sliced banana
Lunch - Mexican salad which came with 2 small cheese enchiladas
Dinner - chicken skewers with rice
Snacks - Grapes, hob nob
Excercise - 11k steps

SatsumaFan · 06/11/2018 16:05

@Dontfeellikeaskeleton keeping my weight down is one of the hardest things for me. I'm good obsessed and very sociable so always out eating and drinking. I never seem full Sad And just love food, cooking and eating! So am trying to focus on health as much as weight in a way.

Love KOKO! Am going to keep that in mind. Fell off the wagon last night as was so hungry, but went to two exercise classes back-to-back this morning! Am worried I'll be as stiff as a board tomorrow.

@2anddone I've suffered with a dodgy lower back for years. Tried doing the C25K in the spring and it really hurt. Spent a fortune on Osteo appts which helped a bit, but have found doing yoga or Pilates 2-3 times per week amazing for it. Hoping to try some cardio soon and not be in pain. I saw an NHS Physio last month and she recommends Pilates to strengthen your core and glutes etc which in turn will support your spine a lot better. Might be worth a try if you can get to a class? (Tho realise you said you're a single parent so might be tricky).

Food for today not too bad, but out with friends for a show and some drinks tonight...

B: Special K with fresh raspberries
S: banana and small handful of cashews
L: two poached eggs on one slice toast, with ham and cherry tomatoes. Followed by Greek yoghurt, apple and a tablespoon of granola (was stuffed after!).
D: slow cooked chicken provencal thing with veg.

Bathsheba3 · 06/11/2018 17:00

I'm a week and a day late, but please can I join? I have been in denial about my weight for a long time. Can't face the scales but am a chunky size 14 and want to be a slim comfortable 12 by Christmas.

I need to be accountable - so will start logging into mfp, and join you lot. Well done on the losses so far! I'm rumbling so about must distract with water.

BaconAndAvocado · 06/11/2018 17:52

Can I join too? Been creeping up and up this year, just through overeating and lack of exercise.

Have always been size 12 but am edging towards 14......
Really don't want to buy clothes in size 14 as I know I'll get comfortable in them!

Will start from tomorrow, today has not been a healthy day. Scoffed 2 cookies and got bangers and mash for dinner.
