A stone by Christmas

Shalll · 29/10/2018 07:22

Is it possible and who will join me?

This stone has been with me for many years now since youngest was born... five years ago! I really want it gone especially as the weight is mainly around my middle.

So starting today:
Weight 11.8 stone or 75kg
Height 5.7 or 1.70

Using my fitness pal with target daily calories of 1,200. Aiming to reduce sugar / carbs and increase water intake. Exercise when possible but it's a juggling act with kids/work, maybe 3 workouts per week plus walk when I can.

Would love some company!

@helenb706 I'd struggle to lose 6lbs in 19 days, but have always lost slowly. I'm sure if you're super good you can do it?? I too have a meal out/do on the 23rd and would love to feel more confident (why do all my friends have to be so slim?!).

Happytot · 04/11/2018 11:10

Morning!!

Had the worst day yesterday food wise. I had one slice of white bread which then turned into 2 more, then crisps then Halloween brack....ah well today is another day! 😀

Today breakfast porridge with peanut butter and banana. Hope to get my run in before dinner. I have decided to try and give each of my meals equal calorie allowance it's meant to be good for weight control......no harm in trying I suppose.

Have a fantastic Sunday

FireflyGirl · 04/11/2018 12:59

Yesterday was a so/so day. Went to the gym for the first time in months (health issues), and I'm feeling it today, but also feel better for having gone.

B: shreddies with almond milk
L: leftover chorizo pasta
D: curry out, glass of wine, mojito

I didn't go overboard, and resisted pudding.

@helenb706 6lbs is 2lb in 3 weeks. Not unachievable at all, but it depends on you - like satsuma, I'd struggle because I lose slowly.

HollyBen · 04/11/2018 14:21

Weigh in day tomorrow. I think I have had an ok week food wise (but room for improvement). Did 4 HIIT sessions and over 10k steps each day (except today only 9.5k). I have been obsessively weighing myself and not feeling overlly confident of a loss. I am going to take my measurements tomorrow and hide the scales away after weigh in.
Breakfast: 2 weetabix with skimmed milk and sliced banana Lunch
Lunch: Scrambled egg, 2 rashers bacon, 2 slices wholemeal buttered toast
Dinner: Boiled egg and ham salad, 1 slice baguette and butter, fruit salad
Snacks: Grape, crisps, low fat yoghurt, 1 hob nob
Excercise: 9.5k steps

flubbadubble · 04/11/2018 14:26

Hello can I join in too?
I need to lose 1/2 stone.
So today's weigh in is 11st and height 5ft7.
I just use mfp and lots of steps which seems to be doing the job. But the Halloween sweets are not helping Blush

Shalll · 04/11/2018 15:40

Well considering everything that been on offer this weekend I've done remarkably well, having turned down Haagen Daz, crisps, chips etc.

Today
B: Small helping of scrambled eggs, mushrooms
L: Half a steak (leftovers), cherry tomatoes
D: To be determined, will be serving pasta and meatballs to guests, might just have a small portion..

Must admit I do have my hopes up about tomorrow's weigh in, although the weekend has not been perfect.

My boot camp will be weekly if I like it (hmm..). Also thinking of stepping up to two PT sessions a week temporarily, will be expensive but I really need a big push at this stage!!

Today has been a total and utter fail!!
Had dd on my own for a girlie day which hardly ever happens and stupidly told her she could choose where we eat!!
Breakfast was ok my usual cereal and then all down hill!!
Lunch...Costa...tuna panini and hot chocolate
Cinema....sweets
Dinner....fish and chips
Now feeling really full, quite sick and totally pissed off with myself!! Tomorrow's another day right??

BlueCookieMonster · 04/11/2018 19:07

Can I join, 11 and a half stone (the heaviest I’ve ever been), would like to get under 11 to get back into my comfort zone. Ideally 10 and a half.

I’ve started using my fitness pal, and doing a pound a week (although hope it will be more). We had a big anniversery meal today and I’ve done a big run to justify what I ate, but still (just) within my target calorie amount.

SatsumaFan · 04/11/2018 19:17

@2anddone absolutely tomorrow is another day!! I haven't been great today either - tho amazingly had a pot of green tea at Costa whilst dc had choc babycino and a frostino with cream. But then tiger bread fell into the shopping trolley, and then my mouth (along with leftover choc birthday cake with double cream!!). Weekends are so hard. I enjoyed every mouthful and have no regrets.

Good luck in the morning everyone!

BurntOrange · 04/11/2018 20:19

I'd like to join too. I'm 5ft 9, 11st 10 and would like to be around 11st by Christmas and be able to fit into my favourite jeans. Then happy to put those 10 pounds on again over Christmas!

Struggling with lots of family events at the moment which is hard.

Slowpokeslimmer · 04/11/2018 20:47

I’d love to join in. I will weigh myself in the morning. I know I won’t lose a stone before Christmas but am hoping for 7lbs. I lost over a stone last year doing slimming world but fear I have put it all back on and more as all my trousers are too tight.

Dontfeellikeaskeleton · 05/11/2018 01:47

So I did my usual batch cooking this weekend for the week ahead :

Veggie and bean soup (loads of it)
A veggie quiche (1/4 for lunchces, with Roasted veg)
A beef and vegetable casserole (its very rich, made with red wine, so we'll have it with steamed veg, there's cubed potato in it already)
Roasted cauliflower and butternut squash

I find cooking at the weekends really keeps me on track. Also got some little pots of natural yog and loads of apples to take to work for snacks.

How's everyone else doing? Haven't done much official exercise but been running round lots this weekend.

RhubarbCrumbled · 05/11/2018 05:58

It’s not been a bad weekend and possibly better than during the week! I’ve managed 3 runs and 10k steps everyday so I’m happy with exercise too.
skeleton I did a huge batch cook too yesterday. It really does keep me in track when there’s something quick to grab. I did shepherds pie and a huge pot of lentil and veg soup.

Food yesterday was:
B: porridge, fruit yogurt milk (7)
L: cheesy mushrooms on toast, nakd bar (9)
D: salmon and cream cheese bagel, fruit (6)
Treat: 3 Cadbury hero’s (they tasted so good!)

Getting up to weigh in and possibly start a shred 😲

JustNeedSomePeace · 05/11/2018 06:32

I'm a bit late to the party but can I join too please?
Currently 11st 4lbs. 5'1 So that makes me quite overweight. I'm doing Slimming World at the moment and want to start running on the treadmill that sits in my bedroom at least 4-5 times a week.
I actually want to lose 1st 4lb by the end of 2018 but will settle for a stone.

RhubarbCrumbled · 05/11/2018 06:49

4lbs down! Woo hoo! Thanks for keeping me on track everyone!!

Elloelloello123 · 05/11/2018 07:02

Can I join? I'm 5ft and 10st 2
Have gained 2 stone in a year and would love to loose a stone before Christmas and then continue in to the new year. To be honest getting back to 8st anything will make me happy! I need motivation!

SatsumaFan · 05/11/2018 08:11

Wow @RhubarbCrumbled that's amazing!! Well done! Star

I've only lost 3/4 of a single pound. Not in the least surprised as I have not been trying at all over past few days. Back on track this morning tho, and four exercise classes booked for next few days.

Shalll · 05/11/2018 08:19

Go Rhubarb and a loss is a loss Satsuma. Exercise classes sound amazing.

2kg (about 3lbs I believe) off here which seems improbable but I'm delighted! Fingers crossed the next 2kg will be as easy!

There'll be nothing left of me by Christmas ha ha

SuzeD29 · 05/11/2018 08:58

Weighed in at 11st 8.6lb this morning so a loss this week of 1.6lb which I'm happy about

SatsumaFan · 05/11/2018 09:17

Well done Shalll and SuzeD29 !

Erm, realised I'd typed it wrong. I'm now 12st 7 3/4lbs, so a loss of quarter of a pound Grin I'm pre-menstrual and not been great, so no surprise. I'm away next weekend for a girly shopping trip with lots of eating and drinking, so gonna have to be saintly this week.

BitOutOfPractice · 05/11/2018 09:54

Morning! Happy Monday day. Fell off the wagon (but only slightly!) this weekend but I'm back in full effect now.

There's been some great losses I see! Well done!

@Shalll 2lg is 4.4lbs!!

RhubarbCrumbled · 05/11/2018 09:57

Well done Shalll, Suze and Satsuma!

Satsuma - it's a loss and not a gain so a win!

I didn't manage the shred this morning as my knee has gone twingy so did a bit of wii fit with DS instead. He loved it!

RhubarbCrumbled · 05/11/2018 10:24

I've had a little look at the measurement ratios too and they've scared me now. My waist is now above the recommended maximum and all my waist ratios are above too putting me at increased risk of diabetes and heart disease both of which are rife in my family. I really HAVE to get this weight off!!

Here are my stats:
W: 34" (should be under 30")
W to height ratio: 0.56 (should be under 0.5)
W to hip ration: 0.83 (should be under 0.85. It's ok, but only just and still means my arse an hips are huge)
BMI: 26.4

Boredofdieting · 05/11/2018 11:54

Down 3lbs last week, so 9st now, so only a stone to go! Very pleased with the week - here's hoping I can keep it up for 7 more!

Congratulations on all the other losses!

Shalll · 05/11/2018 12:16

That's fantastic Boredofdieting.

I FEEL so much thinner already!! I'm strutting around the office like a fashion model...
