Does anyone want to join me? I'm heavier than I've ever been and need to sort it. Not following a particular plan as I never stick to them. Am hoping chatting here will keep me on track.

Snacking is my biggest downfall!

Will weigh in shortly but am around the 13 stone mark.

I hope you get a more peaceful night tonight. It's horrible (and knackering) when they are ill.

Welcome stealth that weight is not far off my goal weight Grin

Princesspeach89 · 29/11/2018 23:00

Hope he’s starting to feel better soon, I’ve been baking cupcakes with my toddler today and I actually resisted eating them Grin just need to get her and the rest of the family to finish them off tomorrow

RubySlippers77 · 29/11/2018 23:36

Mine love baking Princess! Luckily the end creations are usually unappetising by the time I've watched them shovel cake mixture in and get it all over their faces Grin

I thought DTS2 was getting better today but he's been so horrible - desperate for attention and squabbling with his brother - not sure if that's a good sign or not! He's still having regular Calpol and I'm still living off carbs. Pizza is much easier to eat quickly than cooking a healthy meal and trying to enjoy it at leisure, seeing as I don't get any.....

StealthNinjaMum · 30/11/2018 17:52

Thank you howlongtillbedtime because I'm short you can really see every pound. I have a wardrobe of lovely size 8 clothes waiting for me so I really want to be 9 st.

Another busy day, running around as my mil is staying and getting dc to different activities. So far I have only managed another small portion of yesterdays curry and some of dcs carrot and cucumber sticks. Dinner is a Thai soup. I'm going to be seriously under my 1200 calories at this rate so might have an apple and cheese.

Howlongtillbedtime · 01/12/2018 08:51

Morning

I have weighed and am another 2 pounds down which I am happy about. Was getting a bit bored at just losing a pound.

I hope he is feeling better today ruby it is impossible to stick to eating healthier when you are knackered. And have a grumpy child attached to you.

My sister is visiting this weekend so it will be a boozy one. That's why I weighed today as I fear the rest of the week will be damage limitation .

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

StealthNinjaMum · 03/12/2018 10:47

I hope I haven't killed the thread. I am down to 159.4lbs so that's nearly 6lbs. It has been a really stressful few days and I hope that i'all lose the weight more gradually as I just haven't been eating. Today I intend to have soup for lunch and chicken for dinner.

RubySlippers77 · 03/12/2018 10:53

Well done howlong and Ninja!

Must admit I forgot to weigh in today, had two nights of DTS1 refusing to go to bed till v v late, so frustrating. I haven't eaten huge amounts but then have been nibbling on the mince pies Blush

I've got two Lindt advent calendars and rather than eating them will give them to the food bank, I've already done a big parcel of sweets/ biscuits etc and put in some teabags and other useful bits.

We took the DC to see Santa yesterday and even my size 16 top (bought last year with great sulkiness as I didn't want to admit I was a 16) still doesn't fit properly. I know that it's been a hard year for me this year, am determined that my next Christmas I will have a smaller belly than [santa]!

GroovieGazelloo · 04/12/2018 07:54

Hello All,
Great to find that more people have joined. I'm just back from my trip and am really pleased to say that I am 78.6kgs. Before I went away I had reached this weight from being 81.4kgs when I first started.
I'm so happy that I stayed calm around food and neither deprived myself, nor binged. That, for me, is really great.
My friends made no mention that I'd lost weight ( which I would have liked to have heard to be honest). Maybe 3kgs doesn't show that much at the moment. That said, I feel better without them- more comfortable physically. I'm pleased to be getting slimmer gently.

My next goal is for when I see my family at Christmas. We're having a sporting holiday together as our Christmas present. It's a big treat for us all and feels very special for me. I'd like to feel a bit lighter so that I'm comfortable moving around. And, maybe if I lose a bit more weight someone will notice. Smile

StealthNinjaMum · 04/12/2018 10:22

Waves to groovee. I'm glad you did well while away and have found a way to diet that suits your lifestyle. I am an 'all or nothing' type of person and am obsessed with weight loss at the moment tracking weight, calories, measurements, fat. I need to lose weight and think about my lifestyle and maintaining the weight loss without the obsession which isn't sustainable.

Don't worry if you feelno one noticed - they might have been being polite (or obviously might not have noticed!) I think 1/2 stone is about the time that it starts to show but it might be you need to wear a smaller clothes size or a different style. I have lots of shapeless dresses that probably don't flatter me but today I'm in a wrap dress and I think it looks really good. None of my friends have noticed either but I am going to splurge on some new outfits in the January sales so I hope it will be more obvious then.

HettyPain · 06/12/2018 16:51

So glad this is still going and people are doing so well! Sorry I abandoned you all. I've got a bit too much going on at the moment. Haven't weighed myself since my last weigh-in post. Mainly because I'm fearful of what the scales will reveal!

OP posts:
Howlongtillbedtime · 08/12/2018 07:37

Hi hetty Glad to see you back. When I feel scared about the scales I try and have a really good 3 or 4 days and then brave them.

My son has been nagging me for ages to let him join the gym and this week I have given in. My hope is it will make me go a lot more as he has limited time he is allowed to go on his own. So if he wants to go more then I will have to go with him.
We are going together this morning which will be a bit weird but I am looking forward to it.

Good luck to everyone still plodding away.

Thanks howlong! Sounds like a plan. Just have to wait a few days from today as have eaten more than my fair share of mince pies... Hope the gym went well. My son also wants to join one with me. Health-wise I can't go at the moment but as soon as I can I want to.

RubySlippers77 · 11/12/2018 09:52

howlong the gym with your DS sounds like a great plan! Having two toddler DC does keep me on my feet a lot (average 15K steps each day) but it's not cardio as such - I'm hoping that when they are older we can do more 'proper' exercise together - swimming, running, gym etc. DTS2 is a big eater so it will help him to burn it off.

Is everything ok with you Hetty? I'm full of flu and conjunctivitis (attractive!), perhaps my temperature being haywire will burn off a few extra calories?! although probably not enough to compensate for eating lots of panettone

DP weighed himself yesterday at the gym and he's actually gained half a stone in a few weeks. He was really disappointed as he thought he'd been eating moderately, going to the gym etc. I think what he doesn't see is that he's only been to the gym once a week and only does weights (no cardio), plus although he doesn't eat a lot weekdays, he doesn't do a lot of exercise and then eats tons at the weekend. He can easily eat 6 thick sausages with plenty of bread and butter, and that's just for breakfast.....!

StealthNinjaMum · 11/12/2018 10:14

hetty I hope you're ok. It's a tough time to diet - lots of sick people and tempting food.

I've had a bad couple of days. Having had about ten really good days we went to a party on Sunday and there were crisps and cakes and I may have eaten a lot.

(I'm expecting to find a thread in AIBU about a 'greedy mum' who ate all the party food!)

I avoided the scales for a couple of days and got back on this morning and I think I'm up to 158lb having been 157 on Sunday morning. I need to really focus now, I'm just doing an online food order trying to work out what I can eat of the next few days.

RubySlippers I probably used to be like your dp wondering why I wasn't losing weight when I had 'starved myself'. The only way for me to lose weight is to track exactly what I eat on my fitnesss pal, have you thought about trying to get him to download mfp?

HettyPain · 11/12/2018 20:12

Sounds like MFP may be the way to go!

I had major surgery a couple of months ago and it'll take time to recover. My normal intensive exercise regime is out of the window. I think I have to get used to my new normal. But I'm stubborn!

OP posts:
RubySlippers77 · 18/12/2018 15:00

Is anyone still going?!

Sorry to hear about your surgery Hetty, hope you're recovering well Smile

I'm just coming out the other side of another bout of flu - feeling much better although have loads to do for Christmas still, oh dear - currently in a park with the DC in the rain and all I can think about is a nice warm Brew and some Biscuit!

StealthNinjaMum · 19/12/2018 18:55

I'm still here. Down 10lbs in 3 weeks which has really surprised me. I hope everyone else is well and over all colds and bugs.

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 29/12/2018 10:59

Hi everyone, would you mind if I joined you? I started reading the thread about 2 weeks ago and it has taken me this long just to read 8 pages Blush. I hope you are all well and had enjoyable Christmases, without feeling guilty about food and drink (because we really shouldn't feel guilty for enjoying ourselves at special times Smile).

As a bit of background, I have 2 stone to lose in the next year or so. I had my second child back in February and had lost 3 stone, but have gained 7lbs back since starting back at work a few months ago Sad. Like others on this thread, I am really suffering from sleep deprivation which leads me to make bad choices (far far far too much sugar). I'd had the best of intentions of running/gymming most days over Christmas, as I was off work and had family for childcare...but then I got sick and have done the grand total of 20 minutes' exercise in a whole week Blush.

My current situation is that I'm 12 stone 6 and want to lose 6lbs in 6 weeks. I think I'm going to need all the help I can get to cut the sugar addiction!!!

FamilyOfAliens · 29/12/2018 11:03

I’m late to the party but just wanted to say I had never dieted before, but my BP was a bit high and the GP was muttering about medication unless I was able to bring it down with lifestyle changes.

So I started MFP at the end of April, weighing 13st 10lb. I’m now 10st 5lb and feel amazing. I am a total foodie but I also love boundaries and rules, so it was perfect for me. I’m now at my ideal weight and will be trying my best to maintain this throughout 2019.

GroovieGazelloo · 02/01/2019 14:20

Hello All,
Happy New Year.
I hope you're all well. I've just got back from a skiing holiday. It was our Christmas present to the family. Interestingly I didn't change weight which is a big plus for me. Unfortunately however I am still surrounded by lots of snackie food and sweets that have not been eaten up by the family. I'm finding it difficult to know what to do with it all.
Today has been my first day back at being sensible. Smile

And I want to say thanks for the supportive comments to my last post. I really appreciated it at the time and wanted to say so. I got caught up in the Christmas rush and never did. So thankyou.

GroovieGazelloo · 02/01/2019 14:27

Waves to Stealth.
Hi to newcomers.
Hope you're ok Hetty.

My next challenge is going to be to lose between 3-4 kgs before the 25th January. I'm meeting up with the people I saw at the end of November and I really do want to show them that I'm losing weight and taking good care of my body. This is important for me.

So, to get there I'm going to have to take good care of how I eat over the next 3 weeks and ( woe is me) up the exercise. Confused

I've become a pretty lazy toad so this is going to be difficult to get myself motivated.

Tomorrow, I'm planning to go for a walk with my neighbour. And I'm wondering about starting the 30 day shred ( wondering- that's all). Wink

HettyPain · 03/01/2019 10:22

Hi all

Groovie, so glad you're still doing well and hope you enjoyed the skiiing!

Familyofaliens, thanks for sharing your story. Brilliant to hear of a success, well done too!

I've gone in totally the wrong direction and have gained weight again. Now at 82.1kg. Was going to hide away and avoid this post but I'm so determined to sort myself out! Would love to smash out some spinning sessions and intense runs but my body won't let me. So I have to sort out my diet once and for all. It starts now!

I've heard good things about the 30 day shred. A lot of people do the 30 days of yoga too. Not sure how much the latter would burn off, but some people have told me it makes them feel a whole lot better.

I have a target of walking at least 3 miles a day for January. And cutting out most of the junk food. The odd treat will be allowed. Just not biscuits, more biscuits and yet more.
