Starting today (not tomorrow) - three stone to go!

Does anyone want to join me? I'm heavier than I've ever been and need to sort it. Not following a particular plan as I never stick to them. Am hoping chatting here will keep me on track.

Snacking is my biggest downfall!

Will weigh in shortly but am around the 13 stone mark.

Well done Groovie!

Interesting what you mention about bingeing - that's such a big issue for me, I feel like I 'need' a biscuit or whatever, when in fact of course I'd live without it. Been having a look for low point recipes that I can use - biscuits, cake etc - it'd be useful to have some portable snacks rather than yogurt etc for home. A lot of WW stuff is dependent on artificial sweeteners though which for me is defeating the object Sad

I've ordered the Dr Chatterjee book from the library to try to sort myself out a bit more; stop rushing around so much to achieve very little! Perhaps that will help me with my food issues?

I’ve also maintained this week which I’m ok about! No plans for the rest of this week so hoping I will stick to my calorie goal and get my 10k steps in daily as busy week with work and activities planned for the little one.

Hello to the people who have joined recently. It’s good to read you.

Sounds like reading might be a less strenuous activity than the house cleaning Ruby - I do hope your back’s better now. I'm also curious to know what «  the » Dr Chatterjee book is about and who he is too. If and when you fancy giving us the low down on him and/or his book, please do feel free Ruby. 😊

Hallo everyone
I had stayed the same yesterday , but today weighed in at 11 st 4.5lb so a loss of 1.5 lb. I'm happy with that as haven't been very strict.
I am on WW and like it, but my weakness is biscuits and I use up too many points on them!!
Good luck this week everyone xx

Genuinely enjoying eating better so far... I know it won't last so best enjoy it before a cake craving kicks in!

I have done a whole day eating sensibly, counting my WW points, not snacking on crap. It was, er, ok! Now I only have to do another 300 or so and I should be back to a reasonable weight Confused

It’s good to read everyone’s experiences here- very encouraging. I’m generally enjoying eater better too but can’t go without treats either! I end up ‘saving’ some calories for a treat otherwise I’d be throughly miserable!

This is my latest (I’ve tried the caramel one. It’s delicious 😋) Just wanted to share for fellow ice cream lovers who might not have seen it..

That looks amazing Fatty!! I did like the low fat ice creams I tried in the summer, nice to have a treat. Oh course Phish Food is yummy too but sadly about a million WW Points Sad

Two days in a row of counting Points for me now. Not astonishing but very good for me considering what a write off this year has been! Realised that I am currently 4lb heavier than when I started the year absolutely despairing about my weight and determined to do something; I know it's only 5 weeks till Christmas but I could lose maybe half a stone in that time and get under the 13 stone mark, which will hopefully give me the confidence to keep going.

Missed my WW meeting again today as I can't face turning up and being told I've put on a stone since my last weigh in. A stone!! I know I've felt like crap for weeks and not felt like cooking but seriously, if ever I needed evidence that take aways aren't good for me.....!

Can I join? I had twins earlier this year and actually got back into shape quickly. Still on maternity leave and boredom and stress of looking after two has resulted in a weight gain of 1stone.. since I’ve had the babies Hmm

So I’m 5ft 3 and weigh 11st 4lb. Snacking and bad choices are my issue. In the last day I’ve polished off a whole toblerone (not a small one either).

I want to be 10st before I go back to work in March. Doable? I’ve tried all sorts of diets but this time I want to just be healthy, so exercise. I’m going to be quite strict with keeping a food diary so I can be more mindful about snacking and you know, not eat a whole bloody toblerone in a day.

Well done Ruby!
2 days in a row is fab- it's all about getting into a habit of being aware and more in control of what you eat isn't it. So I'd say you should be pleased with yourself Smile

Hello Unhappy 👋
I think you should have a medal for looking after twins for a start! I really fancy toblerone now! I think that sounds doable. I'm finding MyFitnessPal really useful as a food diary. A bit of a faff to start with but once you've logged some food/meals you have regulary it's easier. It's taught me a lot about portion size. Even when I thought I was eating healthy before I think I was eating way too much Cake Cake

It's all so relative how we feel about our weight isn't it. I'm currently delighted to be under 14st because I started at just under 15. Feeling positively slim! Grin

Thank you Fatty - three days now!! I've been over my points every day and using my weeklies but hey, I would say that I'm genuinely hungry and haven't used my FitPoints yet, which is good.

I lost all my baby weight and a bit more within a year of having my twins Unhappy and then have put it all back on and a bit more for good measure Blush think it started to go downhill when I didn't go back to work after maternity leave (was made redundant) - I just find life with them so ruddy hard that cake is/ was my consolation. Ironically it was much easier when they were tiny as I could stick them in the bouncer/ jumperoo whilst I did an exercise DVD. At three they are attention-seeking horrors who could squabble for England and I get far less free time.....

Congrats on your hat trick Ruby! 🎉🎊

I think the hunger thing subsides. I was ravenous to start with!

I’m waiting for a batch of these to cook. I told you I have to have treats!

I’d recommend them- quick, easy and feels like having pudding 👍

Definitely need the custard though, they’re a bit dry without

Morning all
Hope everyoné's having a good weekend and welcome to newcomers. I like the way we’re all approaching these weight - eating issues from our own starting points, in our own different contexts and in our own different ways.

Here, I'm going away for the first time since I started to lose weight. I'm more comfortable physically than the last time I saw everyone I'm spending time with. I won't be doing any cooking and there's going to be a mixture of healthy and unhealthy choices.

I've been ok around food for a few weeks recently and I'm going to be with people who eat differently to me - some more, some less. And really I want to be ok with that and to be ok with myself .

My aim will to not be knocked off balance and to stay calm around food and drink. ( Takes several deep breaths ) . I don't know if I want to aim to keep losing weight whilst I'm away, whether I want to maintain or whether I'm going to accept putting a bit on. In truth, I'd like to keep losing. But, I'm not going to commit myself to that. Smile

Good morning everyone.

Another 1 pound lost here. I wish it was more but truthfully I don't deserve any more. Must try harder was on most of my school reports and I guess things haven't changed Grin

Good luck to all .

I will make the gym today is my goal.

@Howlongtillbedtime well done. I have gone UP 2lb. So that's depressing. I Am trying v hard not to give up and being more careful about tracking every single thing I eat....

I can't exercise as I've had a cough for 4 weeks so that doesn't help. I think I need to do some exercise to boost my metabolism.

Report
RubySlippers77 · 26/11/2018 23:02

Ahhhh kitty I do empathise, one week I put on 4lb!! I was so depressed as I thought I'd been relatively 'good' and was expecting to lose a pound or two.....!

Stayed the same for me this week, my weight loss journey is not going well, although on the other hand I did have a big Pizza Express meal yesterday Blush still, that was my Christmas celebration with a friend, I don't have any more dinners/ parties planned (how sad is that?!)

DTS2 has come down with a bug as well and has a sky high temperature if not Calpol'd regularly. I've eaten quite sensibly today despite the temptation to snack on biscuits whilst listening to him grizzle! On 18K steps so hopefully my 'treat' of a slice of toast and marmalade (no butter!) will be ok.

Did you make it to the gym howlong? And 1lb off is still great!

Forgot to say, the friend I met yesterday is one I only see about twice a year. Our next get together will probably be in May, which gives me a while to lose a few lb's! I'm 13st 6lb now, my aim is to be 12st by the time I next see her, gives me 26 weeks to lose 20lb Smile

Maintained again this week, but it is that time of the month so could be water retention (I hope anyway). I’m pretty happy with my steps today though, just over 15k if I keep that up should hopefully get a good loss next week

Well done on the steps Princess 👏

Crap day for me diet-wise as I've spent most of it consoling a sad, poorly, wailing toddler. He's currently trying to go to sleep on me - hope he does as he didn't go to sleep till midnight last night Sad

I have eaten chocolate and mince pies with one hand whilst giving Calpol with the other...!

Good morning all.

ruby I hope the sickly toddler had a good night (and you)

26 weeks and 20 pounds is a good goal. If I can keep up the pound a week then I know I will be happy in the long run. It s just so boring!

Sadly not howlong, he slept curled up on me and had to be Calpol'd again at 1am. Seems a bit brighter today but my goodness, how much snot can one child produce?!

Just surviving here at the moment, eating what I can when I can when no grumpy DC is shouting at me. Hooray for preschool or I'd have them both caterwauling, at least one is well enough to go Smile

I thought 20lb was a reasonable goal for 6 months but given that I'm currently living off toast and marmalade it doesn't seem so easy!!

Hello. Can I join please? I lost about five stone on mumsnet threads once before and I think I need some help again. My weight has crept up. I would guess I am 2 or 3 stone heavier than my lightest but I am too scared to weigh myself. Maybe I'll do that in a minute.

Report
StealthNinjaMum · 29/11/2018 18:04

I just weighed myself for the first time in a year and half.

11 st 11. At my thinnest I was less than 9 st and my fattest 13 st 9.

I would like to go down to 9 st gradually by using my fitnesspal. So far today I've had a bad day in the sense that I've been rushed off my feet and only managed bread and a small portion of curry I ate off dcs plates. I need to be better organised or I'll binge later.
