Would any of you ladies like to join me on my journey to lose three stone? Starting tomorrow Grin

Sorry I didn’t check in yesterday. Did reasonably well but didn’t plan for needing to eat between classes (first day of my masters) so ended up with a panini and a chocolate wafer... I’ve realised this is a terrible week to start as I’m eating out at least 4 times, but I want to be mindful where I can and I’m going to try and get some exercise in, despite feeling awful (having some medical investigations). My return key also doesn’t seem to be working? Very odd. Royal would something like slimming world work for you, where you could factor in the crisps as part of your syns and it wouldn’t be caving or failing, just part of the plan?

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 25/09/2018 08:24

I also think some structure like that might help me...

Cagliostro · 25/09/2018 08:34

Morning all. Yesterday went pretty well, I had no snacks at all and actually didn’t miss them apart from a mid afternoon slump (I think TBH I would have something then sometimes but need to make sure it’s not crap). Meals weren’t brilliant but plenty of veg and my dessert (not a common feature at home but DH bought it) was a more sensible portion than I’d usually have. So we will have the same after dinner tonight as we have half left. What’s really helping is reminding myself what I learned about blood sugar. I always feel hungrier after sweeter more carby foods.

WhoWants2Know · 25/09/2018 08:42

Every time I cut calories, I wake up 20 times a night to pee. Hoping that's a good sign 😴

Cagliostro · 25/09/2018 08:43

Excercise wise, I felt a bit blah and baby was not playing ball so I didn’t get out to the shops to buy dinner (hence DH doing it on his way home). Instead I decided to try the Davina postnatal DVD as it’s the only one I have, and TBH it just feels comforting. Like seeing a friend :o I’d ditched it for months, as I was finding the aerobic bit too easy and over too quickly (which considering my health issues felt pretty good). But having not done anything for the whole summer, I actually found it a bit of a struggle. I kept going through the aerobics bits though despite the baby waking partway. So at least it’s something. I’ll be walking down to their tap class tonight though.

dreamdream · 25/09/2018 08:49

WhoWants2Know. I'm exactly the same, I was peeing for England all night. I'm knackered this morning.

Got weighed this morning and realised I need to lose a stone - feeling a bit fed up as I thought it was less than that and I don't seem to lose it easily at all. Hey ho, at least I now know the task in hand!

Am only on day 2 of healthy eating - but so far so good and I'm going back to my running club for the first time in 4 months tonight so that will probably kill me!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 25/09/2018 09:41

I’m in too - weighed in this morning and need to lose 2 stone to be a healthy weight. Sob! 5’2”, 11 stone 6.6. Am going to try 5:2 as I have spent the last year trying No S and failing to comply properly. I need a diet where I can still go out on some Thurs and Fridays! Not all of them, naturally.

CaitlinsYellowSocks · 25/09/2018 10:02

Morning! I had quite a good day yesterday -

breakfast - rye bread with honey and cinnamon (from Clean & Lean diet)
Lunch - pumpkin and beetroot salad with feta
Dinner - chicken, asparagus and sugar snap stir fry (no rice)

Snacks - cashews and blueberries (probably too many)

Quite pleased I managed to resist my friend's chips and my son's smarties! I didn't manage to stick to the no caffeine thing though - I had two diet cokes and a green tea.

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 25/09/2018 11:32

That all sounds lovely Caitlin

I’ve had fruity porridge this morning with walnuts and sunflower seeds, made with soya milk.
Having a big dinner out tonight for an event so will probably just have a couple of apples dipped in peanut butter mid afternoon

CherrycolaTicTacs · 25/09/2018 11:54

Hi, please can I join this thread too? Fed up of being 41, fat and frumpy. Will weigh myself tonight but have at least 4 Stone to lose. Would be over the moon to lose a stone by Christmas.

Cagliostro · 25/09/2018 12:12

Ugh struggling this morning as breakfast was a bit shit. But got lunch planned. Planning is going to be key for me. Just realised I need to get the Bolognese out of the freezer.

Cagliostro · 25/09/2018 12:59

Forgot to say poorpaws wow at 20,000 steps!!! I dread to think how few I do.

I love cherry cola flavour tic tacs :o welcome!

Just had lunch of bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon with salad bits and some blackberries. I need to drink some water - that is basically all I drink other than a glass of OJ with my iron tablet, it’s a bit ridiculous though as I actually really love drinking water, I don’t like tea or anything so it’s not hard to drink, I just forget! I really need to be better hydrated.

Bolognese later as I batch cooked the sauce, I will have less of the actual pasta (I’ll serve mine first then mix the kids’ together) and we have asparagus and tenderstem to have with it. I must make sure I serve more veg with meals.

HerRoyalFattyness · 25/09/2018 13:09

rain i have looked at slimming world but i can't afford it to be honest, although i guess i could do it at home if i could get the recipes?

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 25/09/2018 13:38

Royal you don’t even need recipes, it’s all about how you eat you don’t need to follow exact recipes. You could join, get the basic and the gumph and then cancel after two weeks. I think it needs taking with a pinch of salt, you do need to be mindful of portions, and it basically ignores the need for good fats, but the logic of mostly eating lower calorie density foods to fill you up does stand up.

Lucked · 25/09/2018 14:48

So stepped on the scales this morning and not a moment too soon!

13st13lbs Have just mananged to catch it before I strayed into the 14s. No wonder my clothes are too tight. Aim is to be in the 12s for Christmas.

Fast day today and I am hungry. Just off out to buy lactulose as new diets always leave me constipated 😕 hope for once to preempt any problems.

Bubblysqueak · 25/09/2018 14:55

May need a kick to get through bake off without cake! I'm planning to do a HiiT work out at each add break to stop me getting board and snacking!

CaitlinsYellowSocks · 25/09/2018 18:34

@Bubblysqueak I hadn't thought about bake off. Hmm, I'm not sure berries and Greek yoghurt are going to cut it!

CaseStudyResearch · 25/09/2018 18:48

All set to go to the gym and have woken up in agony with a trapped nerve in my neck. I’ve been sat here all day with a heat pad on it.

Lunch today was a turkey salad baguette, bag of Minstrels at 3pm and just had a small portion of bobotie, rice and loads of veg. Easing myself in this week as I have a really difficult work week lined up.

Bubblysqueak · 25/09/2018 19:32

It's a double whammy too if you watch great British menu first CaitlinsYellowSocks I've been really good all day but I have apple pie and custard calling me!

Bubblysqueak · 25/09/2018 20:55

I cracked and had apple pie and custard and the only exercise I did was getting off of the sofa to get it.

Never mind tomorrow is another day.

Zillcat · 25/09/2018 21:05

I've managed to keep on track today 😊

Very pleased with myself as it's the first time since I found out I was pregnant in forever that I haven't snacked all day.

I have had one piece of toast for breakfast, a ham sandwich for lunch and then chicken with rice and broccoli for tea.
I even stuck to my plan to walk with the DC in the pram. Did 45 minutes out after our appointment this morning. Killed two bird with one stone as they napped and I got a rest from them screeching at me.

Tomorrow will be harder as I have to stay in all day but have the ironing pile to distract me! I will also attempt an exercise video (wish me luck).

I've come to bed to watch bake off on catch up so I don't feel tempted to go into the kitchen.

Well done to everyone who has stuck to it today, and well done to everyone who has managed to get motivated to re-start tomorrow.

CaitlinsYellowSocks · 25/09/2018 21:15

Cheated with a glass of wine during bake off.

Otherwise was pretty good -
Lunch was a big salad with cucumber, red pepper, spinach, bean sprouts and seeds, and smoked salmon on the side.
Dinner was another salad with mackerel, wild rice, avocado, watercress, and pecans.

I didn't really snack except for a few nuts and berries. I did have a couple of diet cokes and a cup of low calorie hot chocolate though - really need to be good and stick to water and herbal tea.

poorpaws · 25/09/2018 21:21

Another massive night time pee-er here. In bed early again so I don’t blow all the good work today.

22,000 steps today which is two long dog walks, about 4 hours altogether.

Trying hard with the food consumption but quite hungry.

For those of you who’ve had a blip, don’t give up, don’t give in, try again tomorrow. At some point we are all going to have a bad day or two, you’ve just got it out of the way early 😉

GirlfriendInAKorma · 25/09/2018 21:24

Went back to running club for the first time since May - go me!
I got round in one piece - also go me!

It was hard coz I'm heavier than I used to be - but at least I went...
