Weigh in in the morning and do your best for 5 weeks and the final weigh in will be 1st October. Winner gets a cake crown and to feel proud.

Anyone?

Ok I'm 10st 1. Thanks x

Dancer12345 · 28/08/2018 23:13

CringeFactor You’re right. I’ll start by cutting down, rather than getting rid of everything unhealthy. My BMI is within the healthy range but I’m bigger than I’ve been previously and would like to lose around half a stone. Will weigh myself tomorrow to double check weight.

ladybirdsarelovely33 · 28/08/2018 23:19

Please add me. I am 11st and need to be 8st 3lbs Shock
A week goal would be a good kick start.

How does MFP work?

ladybirdsarelovely33 · 28/08/2018 23:20

Cardiganandcuppa · 28/08/2018 23:21

Can I be in without giving you my actual weight, just lbs lost?

Grasslands · 28/08/2018 23:42

mid day over here; decent meal choices so far, i'm pleased with my steps/exercise for the day BUT huge temptation with cake in the oven.

CringeFactor · 29/08/2018 04:39

I'm going to need you lot tomorrow! Been up for an hour so far with dd so will be tired and want junk tomorrow...I'm doing the 5:2 / 4:3 so meant to be a fast day Confused

Sounds tough cringe. Don't beat yourself up if you need some extra snacks, raw carrots are great to take your mind off hunger!

owlonabike · 29/08/2018 07:59

Please add me at 12 stone 12. Good luck, everyone.

Nuffaluff · 29/08/2018 08:48

ladybirds
MFP is My Fitness Pal. It’s a free app you download onto your phone where you enter food you’ve eaten and exercise you’ve done.
I find it really helpful as it stops me from just snacking all the time.

Ethiopianflower · 29/08/2018 12:50

Ladybird - I have found MFP brilliant. It lets you keep an eye on how you are doing during the day with your calories - can also put in the calories you lost with exercise. Helps you also track how much protein, carbs, fats etc you have eaten.

thetwinkletoescollective · 29/08/2018 19:50

Thanks Cringe for making the spread sheet! It makes it feel much more real.

I just opened my new scales which have a body fat percentage thing and I am 30% body fat. Just to add that little bit of info. So far..I weigh the same!

I am just onto my 2nd litre of water in an attempt to flush the fat out of me!! But it appears to be quite stuck so far!!

I can not believe we are four days in so far. Time does go quickly!!

thetwinkletoescollective · 29/08/2018 19:51

I just re-read that post and saw I wrote 'so far' too much!

Grasslands · 29/08/2018 21:07

i have a system by nokia/withings and use the watch (pedometer) along with the smart scale and the health app which links with mfp (although at part is rather poor).
i found once my muscle mass was closer to the normal range the weight loss sped up.
for months on 1500 calories and exercising daily it was interesting to see the muscle mass increase as the weight stayed the same daily.
it takes my nokia system a good 10 days to level out...so after being on holidays/stressed not weighting myself my current reading show a lot of fluctuation.
healthy food choices so far, first walk in and the cake safely in the deep freeze (which is where it was always meant to go...i was gifted with 10 lbs of pears and i made at least 6 coffee cakes for the year ahead).

RitaMills · 29/08/2018 22:33

Oh can I join? I already started on Monday and my starting weight is 9.10. Not been this heavy in years and I have a wedding to go to start of Oct so I need to be a stone lighter, preferably 8st 6 so I can recycle an old size 8 dress and not have to buy new.

I’m combining MFP with 16/8. The intermittent fasting used to work on its own for me but tried it about a month ago and just didn’t seem to shift any weight, sign of getting older I think so hopefully combining it with MFP (1300 cals) will do the trick.

CringeFactor · 29/08/2018 23:43

Well I made it through the day and didn't go over calories. I even had someone offering me cake multiple times and waving the fork in my face. I'm so glad I started this as I would have scoffed it usually so thanks all for not leaving me hanging! And yes seeing it all on a spreadsheet definitely makes it more real. Woo, I think I might get somewhere this time!

Snowfish · 30/08/2018 08:15

Can I join? I'm 5' 1" & just weighed in at 10st 7. Really need to loose the flab & start feeling good about myself again

EthelThePiratesDaughter · 30/08/2018 14:27

I'm combining 5:2 with running and think I've already lost a couple of pounds. (Just waiting to see if they mysteriously jump back on tomorrow.)

Dancer12345 · 30/08/2018 16:52

CringeFactor That’s impressive to be faced with cake, plus be tired, AND turn it down!

I’m 10 stone 9.

I had a banana as my mid-afternoon snack rather than biscuits - that’s a good start for someone with such a sweet tooth!

Grasslands · 30/08/2018 17:35

How often do you want new weights?
I got in 5,000 steps by the skin of my teeth yesterday (heavy rain). Today looks better.

Dancer12345 · 30/08/2018 22:37

Anyone else hungry? Sad

Grasslands · 30/08/2018 22:55

two to four pm is very difficult for me :(

CringeFactor · 31/08/2018 07:41

About 7am-10pm is tricky for me Grin

Dancer did you manage to stay on track yday? I always down a bottle of water when I'm struggling to bloat me out a bit!

I'm think we should do weigh ins every Monday so we all still have to be good over the weekend. I've just had a sneak peak though and feeling pretty pleased. I prob need to eat a bit more to keep it up but feels like a good kick start

I think Monday weigh in is a good idea Cringe, roast potatoes on a Sunday make me gain badly, prospect of a weigh in would help. I think I am doing well here. Sticking to it so far (doing Blood Sugar Diet 800 kc a day). Have a good day everyone.
