Hi

I came back from my holiday today. Felt bloody awful for the most of it, fat, unhealthy and very unfit. We have been camping for a week and sleeping on the air bed almost killed me. The kids constantly wanted to swim with me feeling like a beached whale in my swimming costume, I tried to hide a lot!! Plus on the way home I went to sit back down in the car and split my recently bought linen trousers Blush

I refuse to have another holiday feeling like this, plus have a milestone birthday coming up in about 9 months.

I know I have roughly 50lb to lose, I am only little at 5ft 2 and I feel like a beach ball!

I will be weighing in to get my official starting weight tomorrow morning and I will rejoin WW online.

If anyone would like to join me that would be fab! Would be nice to have some people to join me on my journey!

You can do it ICAN, the xmas do is my first motivator!! Here's to a fab on track weekend Smile

Mwnci123 · 07/09/2018 22:35

Thanks becks. New day tomorrow ican! I am knackered tonight and have eaten terribly too. Better tomorrow!

Grandadted1 · 07/09/2018 23:09

Can I join please ?? Struggling to lose my baby weight and really lacking motivation and I feel exactly the same I’ve spent most of this summer hiding in my house because I’m so disgusted and ashamed of myself 😪😪😪😪😪 I need motivation even just a few words of encouragement , I’m 5”2 aswell and over 14 stone I’m so uncomfortable in myself I have no clothes that fit me and just look utterly disgusting , please help me ladies 🙏

IcanDorisIwillDoris · 08/09/2018 10:00

I wish I could rename this thread the 5ft 2 club Grin

Welcome grandad!!

So 14 weeks til that elusive Christmas do - how much weight can I realistically lose? I am thinking 14-21lbs if I am super good?!

Back on it and dug out a notebook, I need to start planning better and writing everything down. Just having a cuppa in my pjs then will go get weighed!

Gonna be a wet weekend here I think, summer has truly gone!!!

Mwnci123 · 08/09/2018 15:21

Tipping it down here too ican. Glad you're feeling more positive today. I love a good notebook plan! I am sleep deprived and greedy today, but no slip ups so far. I like the sound of a stone by Christmas- a significant but manageable target.
Welcome grandad. Baby weight here too, but a life long yo-yo dieter also. Getting started is the hardest bit, but you can do it 💪

swearymad · 08/09/2018 15:29

Can I join too please? I'm also 5 ft 2 - currently weighing in at 12 stone 8lbs.

I've been reading a book called 'The Kindness Method' - not specifically a diet book, it's more about preparing yourself for making a change.

I'm all set to start tomorrow. Would like to lose 50lbs and get fit.

Mwnci123 · 09/09/2018 18:17

Welcome sweary, how was your first day?
How are people doing?
I've had a reasonably sensible food and exercise day. Pleased, as I had a fairly disturbed night with the baby and have craved sweets all afternoon.
Moving my weigh in to tomorrow as I will be away Tuesday 🤞

IcanDorisIwillDoris · 09/09/2018 21:50

Had a food day! Lots going on which helps keep me away from the biscuits.

Well done ican. Hope today going equally well. I was pretty good over the weekend after slipping on Friday, but scales have been unforgiving! Ah well, onwards.

swearymad · 10/09/2018 18:45

Thank you - fìrst day went well and the second is going ok. I'm quite good at starting diets - the challenge gets hard for me after a few days.

Mwnci123 · 11/09/2018 22:28

Well done sweary. I had too much to eat this evening, but not dramatically, and did some exercises. Tomorrow a quieter day, so shouldn't be so tired and inclined to eat crap to get through bedtime routine etc. Hope everyone had a good day.

IcanDorisIwillDoris · 15/09/2018 09:34

I must apologise ladies for my flakiness! I am struggling with this. Work has been a nightmare and I am physically exhausted. I just haven't got into this at all Sad I have paid for 6 month with WW so have to do this or else I have thrown my money down the drain .....

12 weeks until Christmas do.

36 weeks until my 40th birthday.

Got to get cracking as I don't want another Christmas party with nothing to wear, plus I can no longer get into my winter coat. It was expensive and I love it so don't want to be buying another! I also don't want to hit 40 disliking what I see in the mirror anymore!

Someone please kick me up the arse Grin

Hope everyone else is still doing ok. I promise to try harder and am sorry for being so crap!!!

So weighed in after my post this morning. Last Saturday I weighed 13st 6.8lb this morning I somehow weight 13st 4.8lb so 2lb down even though I have been truly pants Blush happy with that ..... 48lb to go!!

Sparklingwinemakesmehappy · 15/09/2018 15:47

May I join you please?

I'm 5'2 and need to lose 50lbs. I have a BIG birthday coming up and want to feel slim.

I'm 14st 2 and I'm trying slimming worlds older plan 'Green Plan' from the 1990's as if I stick to it it works for me. I've tried the modern slimming world plans but my weight refuses to reduce.

The issue I have is I now have a full house with 4 fussy teenagers. Cooking extra meals just for me doesn't seem to be sustainable.

Any encouragement from fellow dieters is welcome! It's a long road after self indulging for decades.

Eesha · 16/09/2018 18:28

Hi, just breaking the 13stone mark now which I'm happy about, this means approx 17lbs since end of June. I'm really trying to be strict on food, not having any temptation here. My best friend brought round a sticky toffee pudding and double cream for us but I let her eat then sent it back with her! I think weaning myself off my usual treats has put me off a bit. I wish I was someone who didn't need to be strict but that, and 3L water a day is the only thing that seems to work

Eesha · 16/09/2018 18:36

Sparkling, I was the same as you. I'm just under 13 now after 2 and a half months. Basically I now drink 3L water a day which does suppress my appetite, I only eat one main meal at lunchtime, and no treats in the house like crisps and chocolates. I also reduced my rice intake and bulked with veggies. I hate restricting myself but it was the only thing that worked and I now have people actually saying they see a difference so this has made me want to continue

hippipotamiwantstoloseapound · 17/09/2018 07:35

Can I join in please?
Around 10 years ago I managed to lose nearly 70 pounds.
50 of the buggers have snuck back on.

So, I have reverted to my user name of those days and today is the day.

Unfortunately I have a big disadvantage this time round because I have buggered my knee and can't walk much.
So this time round it will be slower. But it has to be done.

So, here I am, wanting to lose that first pound....

Mwnci123 · 17/09/2018 20:44

Hello again ican! I've been generally ok but slipped at the weekend and am feeling pretty demoralised. We can pick this back up! My first target is not to eat anything else tonight!
Welcome to the new people. Let's stick with it Smile

Mwnci123 · 17/09/2018 21:37

Right, didn't eat anything else. Had a herbal tea and did some exercises and feel a bit less bleugh now. Keep on keeping on, all.

IcanDorisIwillDoris · 18/09/2018 10:27

Ah well done at resisting temptation.

Today should be easy, I have a dodgy tummy! Joys of being back at work, kids all dropping like flies with tummy bugs and snotty noses! Will be eating light as my tummy is gurgling away, just hope it doesn't come to much 🙈

OP posts:
Mwnci123 · 19/09/2018 23:38

Silver linings, eh? After today I could do with a brief stomach bug, as I ate 900 delicious calories of chocolate coated Brazil nuts in a sitting. Oh they were nice though! And then I ate some other sweet stuff too 🙈
Anyway, this morning I was on target with my super slow, lb a week weight loss, so about 6lb down since starting. I am finding my exercises easier too, and my husband thinks my legs look stronger. I can do one whole press up now, so presumably my core is doing something under the post partum floppiness! Tragically rather proud of this, as I couldn't get anywhere near it when I first tried.
Slow, slow, slow, and motivation rather patchy, but things are moving
in the right direction overall. No junk food tomorrow! How is everyone else doing?

Charliecat72 · 20/09/2018 09:13

Count me in - although it will have to be tomorrow.....had already eaten my body weight in toast when I read this.

Mwnci123 · 20/09/2018 11:37

Welcome charliecat. The day is young but I am doing ok so far! I always find it tricky not just ploughing on and eating everything in sight once I get started, so a small victory!

swearymad · 21/09/2018 18:17

Hi. I've got off to a slow start - lost a couple of pounds last week. Then had a big night last Saturday - I had planned to only have a little wine but went a bit mad. This resulted in Sunday being a hangover and carby day. So I started the week feeling a bit down - but got back on track. 4 lbs down now - it's nice as I can actually feel a difference - my jeans are a wee bit more comfortable than usual.

Hoping to stay on track this weekend.

Mwnci123 · 21/09/2018 22:20

Nice one sweary. I am also going to focus on having a good weekend after my Wednesday blow out. Apples and herbal tea +++
