Hi

I came back from my holiday today. Felt bloody awful for the most of it, fat, unhealthy and very unfit. We have been camping for a week and sleeping on the air bed almost killed me. The kids constantly wanted to swim with me feeling like a beached whale in my swimming costume, I tried to hide a lot!! Plus on the way home I went to sit back down in the car and split my recently bought linen trousers Blush

I refuse to have another holiday feeling like this, plus have a milestone birthday coming up in about 9 months.

I know I have roughly 50lb to lose, I am only little at 5ft 2 and I feel like a beach ball!

I will be weighing in to get my official starting weight tomorrow morning and I will rejoin WW online.

If anyone would like to join me that would be fab! Would be nice to have some people to join me on my journey!

Oh wow what a fab response to my post! The holiday crap feeling seems to resonate with a few of us!!

My milestone birthday in 9 months is my 40th! I am struggling with the though of that at this weight. I feel almost crippled at my current weight as I have joint problems (hypermobility) and my joints literally moan at me each day to get some weight off. I really need to do this now and it's so nice to have some others with me!

Breaking my 50lbs down into 10lb mini goals so it doesn't seem so scary Blush

Great idea with the mini goals ICAN, makes it feel more manageable.

Definitely can relate to the self conscious on holiday feelings. We couldn't go abroad this year and I was secretly relieved! We are going to go away next year and I want to feel comfortable in a bikini/costume and running around after the kids.

IcanDorisIwillDoris · 27/08/2018 10:11

I dream of wearing a bikini becks, never had the courage to wear one even as a teen! Sounds like an overall goal to me to wear a bikini!

Raskol Shock

I can't imagine weighing 6 stone something. Currently 12st 11 but have been 15st. What does a typical day look like for you food wise?

cantfindamoniker · 27/08/2018 10:26

I would love to lose 50lbs. I'm 5'3" and my joints are letting me know I've got to do something. A 10lb mini goal is a fab idea. I can get on board with that. 16 weeks to Christmas? Yikes!! I need to get cracking. I've never done SW. Should I? Now off to look if there's one online. And to talk one of the family into knocking a tennis ball around with me....

beckslovestimmy · 27/08/2018 14:16

CANTFIND I joined Slimming world online (I've been to the groups before) I'm on day 6 and doing well. Lots of fresh fruit and veg, no real need to weigh/measure stuff. Easy to adapt to family recipes. Any questions and I'll try to answer them Smile

Makegoodchoices · 27/08/2018 17:55

Day 1 done - 12500 steps, no snacks, got ahead with some healthy meal prep.

GBBO starts tomorrow, which is less helpful, but I’m thinking of making some fun free flapjacks to help us cope.

EggysMom · 27/08/2018 18:03

I think I may join your little gang, although I won't be following a formal diet, just trying to manage portion-control rather better than I am now. I have a milestone birthday next year (the one after all of yours), and I spent this holiday wedging myself into theme park rides that are simply not designed for people of my girth .... I'll weigh myself later and scare myself with how much I have to lose.

Mwnci123 · 27/08/2018 18:08

Oooh, I'm in. 11st4, goal is 9st4 (pre pregnancy weight). Aiming for slow weight loss (lb a week) because I am not massively motivated despite not fitting in any clothes I like. I also want to strengthen my core as it is in a bit of a state. I am doing daily exercises from a book about fixing diastasis recti- very gentle so far and no visible improvement, but only a week and a half in and it is helping me feel more positive. I'm giving up palm oil, which I wanted to do anyway but it rules out a lot of snacks! I'm really sleep deprived today and quite unmotivated, but will do my exercises once toddler in bed and then go for an early night with a herbal tea (fingers crossed for a good night with the baby). Keep on keeping on everyone!

sweetiepie1979 · 27/08/2018 18:11

I’m five foot 2 as well. 11.1 stone last 2 lbs last week with weight watchers and hoping to get down to 9.2/3. I’m sick of feeling so blurghhh about myself. Hoping weight watchers will work for me!

IcanDorisIwillDoris · 27/08/2018 21:15

Wow can't believe how many of us there are, it's fantastic!

Another crap day for me unfortunately as me and the kids still off colour. It's been a long day and started well but didn't finish on the best note!!

Ah well I am drawing a line under it and will try again tomorrow! I will keep trying as that's the main thing. Here to a good day tomorrow and hoping these coughs/colds do one!!!

Felt brave enough to weigh myself today... 11 stone 10. I'm 5'8" and would like to weigh about 10 stone 7... so just over a stone to go.

Rubbish day today... but I did replace ice cream after dinner with fruit! Shame about all the biscuits! Must do better tomorrow...

wheresthehope · 28/08/2018 02:40

Hi all!!! Can I join too though im not 5'2! im 5'9!
I also live In New Zealand but I am very unhappy with my shape...
I have just brought a elliptical trainer and a exercise bike to help me along but will be walking my dogs and riding my horse more often since summer is on its way!!! Heres for a skinnier us!!!!!!

Fatted · 28/08/2018 02:57

Can I join in?! I'm another short arse at 5'1". I'm going back to Slimming world tomorrow (technically tonight!) . I'm somewhere around 12-12.5 stone I reckon. I'd be happy to get to around 10.5 - 11st. I know I should lose more to be a healthy BMI but this is the size I was 5 years ago before having kids and I was actually pretty comfortable there and have lots of clothes that fit me in this size. I'll see how I feel once I get there though.

I'm also 18 months off 40 and I'm already feeling like I don't want to get to 40 and still feeling miserable. I'm starting a new job next month and finally starting to feel like I. I'm reclaiming my life after having 2 kids in 2 years and working a crap job where I've had no time or energy for myself.

IcanDorisIwillDoris · 28/08/2018 09:16

Ah the more the merrier Grin

Have had a good nights sleep, woken up feeling much better, so raring to get on with this now!

violet0805 · 28/08/2018 09:24

Can i join please? I'm on my 2nd day back on slimming world. I lost 1.5 stone on it before the summer and even lost 0.5lb after 2 weeks in Greece, then I moved house a month ago and it's gone to shit.. lived on takeaways during the move and have been like a woman possessed ever since.. I have PCOS so it's very slow for me which can be very unmotivating so need this thread!

Mwnci123 · 28/08/2018 14:38

I hope you're having a good day so far ican. I started last Tuesday and had first weigh in today- lost a pound, as hoped, so feeling really pleased. I known it's not much but it's in the right direction, and I have definitely eaten less and better than I would otherwise have done. Sending positive vibes to all for a good day.

IcanDorisIwillDoris · 28/08/2018 14:58

So far so good!

Well done on the weight loss!!

OP posts:
beckslovestimmy · 28/08/2018 18:24

MWNCI well done in the loss. Weigh day for me tomorrow. I'm hoping for a good loss tomorrow as it's my first week back on track. 3lb would be nice 🤞🏻😬

mathanxiety · 28/08/2018 18:33

I'll join! I recently joined a gym and I'm really motivated to lose about 50 lbs too. I've had an injury to my right hip followed by a nagging Achilles problem and the combo put me out of action for a good while, but both are on the mend now, so I am optimistic that weight loss will be possible.

glenthebattleostrich · 28/08/2018 22:30

I have decided that I need to walk more so to make sure I do 12000 steps per day we have bought a puppy!! ( Not really for that reason, wanted a dog for aged and she's my 40th birthday present from DH). But, it's motivated me because I can't walk a dog for an hour per day and be unfit!

How about we aim for a mini goal of 7lb by Halloween? It's 9 weeks away so less than 1lb per week. Anyone who beats the target gets to come over for puppy cuddles and gin!!!

Fatted · 29/08/2018 07:54

Well I went back to SW last night. For some reason I felt a bit underwhelmed by it all. Although I've woken up this morning full of a stinking cold which probably explains it!

Weighed in at 12st 6.5lbs 😵 so I've got around 20lbs to lose to get me where I'd like to be by Christmas.

Feeling sorry for myself being full of cold and now I'm feeling even worse that I've let myself get this heavy again! I've lost and gained the same 20 pounds since DS2 was born.

AntiHop · 29/08/2018 09:33

Hello all

Did my first successful day yesterday (fasting day). I felt shit and exhausted by bedtime. I'm aiming for a couple of fasting days a week plus low carb and a day off at the weekends.

I've decided not to weigh myself. Earlier I'm the year, I worked really hard at dieting and nothing came off. I was depressed that I ate more! So I've decided just to concentrate on my daily goals and how my clothes feel.

We're having a team lunch at work today so I've skipped breakfast. I'm hungry!

IcanDorisIwillDoris · 29/08/2018 09:52

Damn it, yesterday didn't happen either - I am just useless Blush both kids still not right and whilst I felt better I still had to deal with them off it.

Determined I will do this regardless!

7lb by Halloween sounds good to me, count me in!!

On the upside back at work next week. Part of my job is very physical so that should help loads.

Here's to a better day today, onwards and upwards.

OP posts:
beckslovestimmy · 29/08/2018 09:59

I'm in for the 7lb by Halloween. It's 17weeks till xmas and hoping for 1.5st by then. I'm hoping that I can manage 1lb a week.

First weigh in for me and 2.5lbs off. I'm a bit disappointed as I'd have liked at least 1lb more but it's in the right direction.

I'm off to do the weekly shop today so planning meals for the week ahead.
