Hi

I came back from my holiday today. Felt bloody awful for the most of it, fat, unhealthy and very unfit. We have been camping for a week and sleeping on the air bed almost killed me. The kids constantly wanted to swim with me feeling like a beached whale in my swimming costume, I tried to hide a lot!! Plus on the way home I went to sit back down in the car and split my recently bought linen trousers Blush

I refuse to have another holiday feeling like this, plus have a milestone birthday coming up in about 9 months.

I know I have roughly 50lb to lose, I am only little at 5ft 2 and I feel like a beach ball!

I will be weighing in to get my official starting weight tomorrow morning and I will rejoin WW online.

If anyone would like to join me that would be fab! Would be nice to have some people to join me on my journey!

Well done on the loss becks that's a fab result!

1 and a half stone by Christmas challenge accepted too! Let's do this!!!

glenthebattleostrich · 29/08/2018 14:10

Yes to the 1.5 stone by Christmas too. Then 3 by next easter (so I can fit back into a bikini!!!)

First day on it. I'm intermittent fasting this week as I still have some birthday stuff on. Steps aren't happening today because our new puppy arrived and she just wants to sleep on my knee! Who am I to argue!!! I am really looking forward to our walks :)

glenthebattleostrich · 29/08/2018 14:12

Mabel!

Sharingtheload · 29/08/2018 14:19

I'd like to join! I have 3 stone to loose so 42lbs which seems so daunting! I lost some after giving birth last year but then have piled it back on through comfort eating.

Trouble is I have a heart condition so I can't do intense cardio. Think I will have to do this through diet and walking...

Mwnci123 · 29/08/2018 20:08

2.5lbs is great becks, well done. glen, Mabel is just lovely and will be great for increasing physical activity once she is off your knee! I hope the lurgy has left off all the poorly posters. Count me in for half a stone by Halloween- slow and steady for the win. Had too much junk food yesterday on eight hour journey to in-laws, and skipped my exercises, but ok again today. Exercise routine very brief but definitely makes me feel better about the pot belly.

IcanDorisIwillDoris · 29/08/2018 20:34

Weyhey! Feeling better and managed to stick to plan Grin

Yey, well done ican! I reckon the first few days are among the hardest.

beckslovestimmy · 30/08/2018 08:46

Into week 2 for me now. Just wondering if any one would share any great low fat/cal healthy recipes that they love. One of my problems is eating the same things getting bored then going off track. I've done a brain storm for breakfast/lunch/dinner/snacks and stuck it on the fridge, I keep adding to it and it helps having it in sight.

My favourite snack at the mo is an apple and 15g of cheese. Really hits the spot.
Loving overnight oats and apple crumble porridge for breakfast.
Lunch I've been mainly having salads. I made some potato salad this week which was really good.
Dinner has been various meats roasted with a jacket potato and lots of rubber beans from the garden.

What are your go to meals?? Smile

Eesha · 30/08/2018 15:02

So I lost the initial creep in the last few days so must have been bloating but really had to be strict again. I just find that's the only way for me, tons of water, one big meal a day, no treats. I don't like it but seeing results on the scales spurs me on. Still 4lbs to go to get below the elusive 13....

IcanDorisIwillDoris · 30/08/2018 20:39

We are terrible for meals/meal planning becks!

DH and I have vowed to master it during September as we waste loads of food yet somehow never seem to have anything in!

DD also does not like the menu for next term at school so she will be packed lunch all next term with the exception of the school Christmas dinner which she loves. So the pressure is now on to master the perfect rolling menu for next term.

I do love putting pen to paper so it's something we will do this weekend ready for the return to school! I also need some easy lunch ideas that aren't sandwiches/wraps for DDs pack up. She would eat the same lunch every day if I let her! Plus I have the added bonus of starting work at 7am every morning so am limited for time on a morning Blush

I'll join too please. Mid 40s gained about 4st since having DD 5 and my health is starting to suffer eg knee joints killing me. Also saw myself in a few pics from holiday and I'm disgusted with myself. I'm officially BMI obese ffs! So I've already started a low carb low fat diet and am on day 6, about 4lb lost so far. However not following it exactly and allowing myself occasional carbs and a sweet treat. I think steady wins the game but low carbs work for me. I like 7lb by Halloween.

beckslovestimmy · 30/08/2018 21:09

I try to meal plan but it usually doesn't happen. I am determined this time even if I'm just planning for me and the kids. Me and DH both work shifts so often don't eat together. Now autumn is nearly here I'll be getting out the slow cooker!!

IcanDorisIwillDoris · 30/08/2018 22:25

Ooh we have a slow cooker! Will be researching ww friendly slow cooker recipes now ...... perfect!!!

Welcome giggle!

Loving all the people joining the thread, it's awesome Grin

I can't cook for toffee, but I really
love my slow cooker. I also suck at menu planning! The toddler is fussy too, so that complicates matters. I'm focusing on not eating lots of extra crap initially.
Good news Eesha. Very impressed with your will power.
An ok day for me today, but
more maintenance than loss I think.

2senoughforme · 30/08/2018 23:36

Hi is it too late for me to join? I’m also about 5 foot 2😂😂😂. I weigh 13 stone 2.... there I’ve said it. I need to lose 50lbs too....

IcanDorisIwillDoris · 31/08/2018 09:27

Never too late to join!! I've only just nicely got settled into Ww after a few false starts and all of us having a stinky cold!! Day 3 for me and feeling good Grin

Hello all. I am in. Just weighed in at 15 stone which is pretty horrendous to say the least. Am going to also start some classes. Have decided to give myself a goal of dropping two sizes before I buy anything new as I love to buy clothes but am so disappointed with how so much stuff looks rubbish on me. One of my biggest issues is bread and carbs generally so am going to replace bread with soups and veg for lunch. Need to look for some lunch ideas.

IcanDorisIwillDoris · 31/08/2018 14:25

Hi cansu

How's everyone else doing today! So far so good on day three here, though it's coming up to munchy time .... may go raid the fruit bowl!

beckslovestimmy · 31/08/2018 17:46

ICAN I'm into week 2 now, starting to think about what to take to work with me as I'm on a night shift 😬. I think I'll take overnight oats and fruit I've got 15g of cheese to have with an apple. Maybe a yoghurt. Still on track and doing well. I'm feeling better for all the fruit/veg I'm eating and drinking more water.

IcanDorisIwillDoris · 31/08/2018 19:57

Yeah that's a habit I am working on - drinking more water! I drink loads of coffee but definitely not enough of anything else.

OP posts:
Mwnci123 · 31/08/2018 20:47

I'm feeling the benefit of eating more fruit too becks. I find herbal tea really helps in the evening, ican. Welcome cansu! I have had a pretty good day today. Really enjoyed my mini daily workout and feel like maybe there's a slight perceptible difference in the old belly. I had a couple of small treats but am quite hungry now!

IcanDorisIwillDoris · 01/09/2018 08:59

I love herbal/fruity tea and have a large collection in the cupboard, I always forget they are there and wil dig them out!

Good day again yesterday so this is me reporting in for day 4 Grin

Bearest17 · 01/09/2018 20:57

Hi all, would love to join. Not weighed myself recently but I know I need to lose about 5 stone, which seems impossible.

I always seem to be on and off diets. I’m motivated at the start and love seeing the pounds drop, but then get bored and frustrated when the weight loss inevitably slows.

This time I am determined - my DD is just starting school and I don’t want to be that fat mum at the school gate. I want to get fitter and healthier to be a positive role model for her.

I’m joining slimming world on Wednesday - but nervous as it’s in our village so there are bound to be people I know and the group leader is also a friend of a friend. But in some ways i’m hoping that will spur me on, as I won’t want them to see me fail!

beckslovestimmy · 02/09/2018 08:30

Welcome bearest. I have similar reasons for losing weight too. I'm on slimming world but online as I can't fit the groups around my kids.

I had my first bad day yesterday. I had worked fri night and it was horrendous so busy and very emotional, I had no break and then only a couple hours of sleep before my husband had to go to work. I was so tired and just reached for rubbish/sugar ☹️

I'll be back on it today and won't let it spiral. I'm cooking dinner for the family today so think I'll do a roast dinner with poached chicken breast for me and dry roast potatoes.

What's everyone else's plans for today?

IcanDorisIwillDoris · 02/09/2018 10:33

The point is becks not to let that one bad day spiral ...... though I really can't talk as I am the queen of binge when this happens. I am slowly learning to keep trying.

We're all gonna have those bad days as we are only human Thanks hope you feel better today?!

Day five for me, nearly a full week which I haven't managed in forever! But I am so determined this time it's unreal.

Not much planned for today, getting ready to go back to work tomorrow (support role in kids school) and kids are back Tuesday so just double checking all is ready to go. Kids have a golf match this aft (DH influence!!) so I will take a book and read whilst they play.

Bearest we are breaking down our weight loss into mining goals, first one is 7lb off by Halloween. Easily doable!!
