kid - I don't know about bread pudding but the weetabix cake tastes just like bread pudding

welcome daisybo

Well two weeks ago (the second week I stuck to it properly, after putting on for no good reason!) I lost 5 pounds... was so chuffed. Then I missed a week cos we went away, and when I came back and was weighed in Thursday I lost half a pound! Definately pleased, I was worried I'd put on as there was no really good options at Glastonbury

So this week I'm meant to be sticking thoroughly.. I'm exactly 10 stone, I want to be 9stone 7 but ideally closer to 9... and yet I'm struggling sticking to it now Argh. I keep eyeing up chocolate....

AF returned last week and I was fine then.. just now!

I'm looking at the cajun chicken salad on the website and I don't know if I'm being dim but it says

Syns per serving:
4 Syns per serving: ½ Syn on Original, ½ Syns on Green**add 6 Syns if not using chicken as a Healthy Extra

So is it 4 syns per serving, or half a syn per serving, or four and a half per serving????

lunavix · 01/07/2007 13:38

forgot to add, it serves four!

lunavix · 01/07/2007 13:40

Welcome Daisybo, the sliced potatoes are so simple and delish! Just slice potatoes with their skins left on and spray with fry light and cover with cajun spice and garlic pepper and cook on a baking tray for 45mins or so and spray them every 10 minutes. They are free on green and we have them as a HE b choice on a red instead of the small Jacket spud. We enjoy them with the cheese & broccoli batchelors pasta and sauce, big tasty meal and filling, but totally FREE!

Hi Lunavix, thats has just confused the hell out of me, I would just count the half syn values

Unchief how about a nice cheese and mushroom omelette with a side dish of noodles? WE had it for tea other night, sounds bizarre mix but it was different (my dh's idea lol).

lunavix · 01/07/2007 15:17

the roast veg pizza is 4 syns per quarter i think. I like to think it's less as I make my own bases with wholemeal flour

2 open cap mushroms
1 courgette
1 red pepper
1 yellow pepper
1 small onion
4 tomatoes
2 garlic cloves
Fry Light
142ml/0.25pint passata
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
113g/4oz pizza base mix

  1. Prepare the topping ingredients; thickly slice the mushrooms and courgette; deseed and roughly chop the peppers; slice the onion; finely chop the tomatoes and crush the garlic.

  2. Preheat the oven to 200C/400F/ Gas Mark 6. Place the mushrooms, courgette, onion and peppers on a baking sheet, spray with Fry Light and roast for 25 minutes.

  3. Meanwhile, place the tomatoes, garlic, passata and vinegar in a saucepan and slowly bring to the boil. Simmer for 20 minutes until thickened. Then allow to cool.

  4. Add 5 tablespoons warm water to the pizza base mix and knead for 5 minutes. Then place in a bowl, cover with cling film and leave in a warm place for 25 minutes or until nearly doubled in size. Knead on a lightly floured surface, then roll out to approximately 32cm/13ins x 25cm/10ins and place on a baking sheet. Make a 1cm/0.5in rim around the edge by pressing into the dough with your fingers.

  5. Spread the tomato sauce over the base, arrange the vegetables on top, spray with Fry Light and bake for 10 minutes until the pizza base is cooked. Serve immediately.

(It's off the website)

lunavix · 01/07/2007 15:19

cannelloni is off the website too we're having it this week

For the sauce:
Chopped peppers, onion, garlic, mixed herbs, passata.
Make the sauce by dry-frying the vegetables and stirring in the passata.

For the filling:
Very low fat cottage cheese, fresh spinach, nutmeg, garlic, dried cannelloni tubes.
Make the filling by wilting the spinach in boiling water. Strain and dry off the excess water, then mix together with the cottage cheese, garlic and a pinch of nutmeg.

Gently fill the cannelloni tubes with the cottage cheese mixture. Cover the bottom of an ovenproof dish with some of the sauce and arrange the filled cannelloni tubes over the top. Pour the remaining sauce over. For a cheesy topping, sprinkle over 28g reduced fat cheese (4 Syns). Bake in the oven at 180ºC/Gas Mark 5 for approximately 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve the cannelloni with piles of crispy salad, a jacket potato or lots of roasted vegetables.

It's free on green

i had a bad bad weekend.

my problem is i lose a bit, feel better and start eating more. this was further compounded by the fact that i was due on and we had a big huge bar of chocolate in the house!

then yesterday we went out and i had pancakes, syrup, cherries and cream - it was lovely, so lovely but feel i may have blown it this week

daisybo · 02/07/2007 17:50

does anyone know what the rules are re breastfeeding on the plan. i have a sneaky suspicion that when i did it last time you could have 1 or 2 more healthy extras when you're feeding but can't remember exactly what. i think it was in a leaflet all about preg and b'feeding while doing slimming world. does anyone know? i'd love to have an excuse to eat more cheese!

I was weighed tonight and have put on half a pound. Trouble is, I have felt totally miserable since Friday night. Must be hormones or something. I have just got to get motivated to do exercise otherwise I can see me putting it all back on.

fedda · 03/07/2007 22:50

many people suggest to have 3 meals a day but when I was younger and i tried to loose some weight I skipped my breakfasts and often had 2 glasses of tomato juice for lunch and a small portion of food for dinner and I lost 6 kg! I was doing a very gentle exersise and I walked briskly for about 3 hours often, not every day though. it worked then but I don't have will power now. Still, it really worked for me. I wonder if anyone had similar experience or if someone tried something different which worked well for them.

IndigoMoon · 04/07/2007 00:21

i just cannot do hungry. this is why i like sw cos i can eat. its fab. it still takes willpower not to eat the chocolate and then i am eating for emotional reasons and that is a whoooooooooooole other subject but i feel much more in control on this diet.

fedda · 04/07/2007 16:07

What is sw?

IndigoMoon · 04/07/2007 19:56
