It arrived just in time for lunch (thank god- i’m Sooooooo hungry!) i’m Having the chana dhall for lunch. I haven’t got any salad here- but i’ll Pop out for some carrot sticks as a pm snack later. Tastes delicious actually- although tiny. However, guess there’s one of the reasons i’m fat!

Had the arrabiatta pasta for dinner and it was really nice. With 160g asparagus was quite filling. Had the popcorn earlier for my snack - good- but then popcorn’s always good! Kind of missing pudding though.....

I’m now worried I may have killed this thread :(

calilark · 08/06/2018 12:38

@Flowerpig I am restarting it! I hadn't heard of the Jane Plan before, but I might look into it after reading how well everyone is doing! I have a massive amount of weight to lose - technically close to 10 stone, but I would be over the moon to lose 5 which would put me at my pre-preg weight.
I am a bugger for portion sizes, so I think pre-prepared will help. I found SW depressing as I had to think about food all the time - what I had in, did I have enough speed, the constant popping to the shop. ARGH!

My question is, am I allowed to snack during the day? A standard snack for me would be a carrot and a slice of ham, or some cottage cheese & pesto. Or is all snacking (apart from the 1 supplied) out of bounds?

Flowerypig · 08/06/2018 13:21

Hi!
Glad you’re here!
They encourage an 80 g fruit snack in am ( or can have raw vegetable instead).
They also say you should have handful berries with breakfast and salad with lunch and 1 or 2 portions veg with dinner. So, if you prefer snacking I guess you could have those separately to the meals. I am only on day 2 though so I may be wrong on the rules tbh!
I also struggled on sw. it was to easy to justify anything and everything. E.g. if I can have potatoes then crisps are ok etc etc! Needless to say didn’t work for me! I liking he feel f this diet as I don’t decide what to eat, or how much.

calilark · 08/06/2018 16:02

Thanks @Flowerypig, that is really helpful, and makes me feel more inclined to give it a go. A very strict NO SNACKING would probably have been impossible for me, so glad to know extra veg is ok, and also good idea on the berries etc for snack instead of breakfast.

How are you finding it on day 2? And what meals have you had so far? :)

Spudnick · 08/06/2018 16:15

How much does Jane plan cost?

Flowerypig · 08/06/2018 17:10

Spudnick- it was £199 a month when I signed up- but they seem to have different offers on at different times.
Calilark- well, i’m Glad you asked as that means I can add the picture of my lunch!
I had toffee pecan granola for break fast which was nice- but very small. Would have eaten the same amount of cereal previously absent mindlessly whilst looking for the milk! However, tasted good. Had the sweet potato bitternut squash for lunch which was a bit watery and a salad. I’ve also had my one biscuit ( unlike the 6 i’d usually scoff) and will see what come out of the box for dinner!
Do you think you’ll give it a go?

Flowerypig · 08/06/2018 17:11

Spidnick- not £199! £119- sorry😀

bbcessex · 08/06/2018 19:45

HI all!!

Great posts flowery - really glad you’re enjoying it.

Inspired me to post a pic of my dinner.. the korma & rice, which I’ve added a tonne of spinach with flaked almonds to.. delicious!

calilark - you can do what you like really.. JP provides breakfast, lunch & dinner plus one snack per day. Like Flowery said, you can add your own fruit & veg.
If you have a fair amount to lose you could definitely add a snack or too.. I think you’d see great results 👍

Flowery - when’s weigh day?

OP posts:
Flowerypig · 08/06/2018 22:58

BBC- not till Thursday. Am rather hungry right now. Second day done though - I guess it’s just a matter of adjisting! Had Malaysian vegetable curry with some courgettes for tea. Very nice! Apart from the rather watery soup everything’s been delicious so far- although i’ve Never been a fussy eater!

bbcessex · 09/06/2018 07:32

How’s everyone doing?

Flowery - your comment about the cereal size is so true... I’d completely lost perspective on portion size. Jane Plan has really helped me with that.

I’m going to try and make a conscious effort to drink more water.. I’m terrible at that and it does make a difference.

Flowerypig · 09/06/2018 12:38

Morning! Had the macca granola for bf with blueberries- didn’t bother taking a pic as it looked identical to the breakfast I had yesterday! Sort of oaty and flakey. Nice enough with some blueberries and milk. Am finding I manage to get through to lunch with no snack- am used to this though as my classes generally run 9-12 and are full on! So am saving my fruit am snack for the pm when I get the munchies ( do they still make munchies? I used to love them!) or lunch I have penne with olives and some rocket leaves. Nice- very filling, much better than the soup. I wish I hadn’t ordered so many now!
Am off to the village day fete to day with the littles. Candyfloss, chip, ice cream and slush it’s as far as the eye can see- and for some inexplicable reason camel racing 🐪. I can foresee this going seriously wrong. Either some kid getting spat at or a herd of camels running off and rampaging through Surrey.

Good luck Flowery - you are doing brilliantly 👏👏

I’ve heard that JP are happy to swap unopened things if you realised you don’t like them - maybe see if you can switch out the soups?

OP posts:
Flowerypig · 09/06/2018 13:37

Good idea bbc- thanks for that! I’ll try the other flavours I ordered in case I want to return the duplicates of them too! That’s good for jp to do that as other companies don’t!

calilark · 10/06/2018 18:49

Ok, I'm going for it - does anyone have a code that I could use? The code for free delivery isn't working at the moment which is annoying.

I am going for the 4 month plan with weekends off. Noted on the butternut squash soup and wholegrain salad - anything really good that I should be adding into my menu?!

bbcessex · 10/06/2018 22:19

Good luck Calilark. I really like the cous cous & pasta for lunch.

For dinners, I like the lentil topped cottage pie. The lasagnes & the curries with rice.

I add lots of veg to them.

I’ll have a look for a code if no one else has one 👍

Just had the chilli for lunch - yum! Would have taken a photo to show you all, but ate it before it occurred to me!

Flowerypig · 11/06/2018 14:39

Popcorn for a snack!

I am loving your photos Flowery!!!!

I haven’t ordered them Chilli yet.. Elle’s, up thread, also recommended it so I’ve think will next time. Was it good?

OP posts:
Flowerypig · 11/06/2018 20:13

BBC- I recommend the chilli- nice, had rice mixed in it and lots of beans. Second favourite thing after the penne!
Had classic vegetable curry for tea. Came with rice and added in 160g broccolli- which turns out is quite a bit!
