I need to stop the slide. I’m now over 11st and it’s all round my waist and face which at 5ft 4in is starting to make me look as wide as I am tall.

Back on mfp and going for 10k Fitbit steps to start off.

Would love some company, otherwise I’ll just witter on to myself anyway Grin

You’ve done well holding off weighing! To be honest I don’t think my scales are the most reliable so it could be I never actually got to under 11st...

Might be worth investing in a new pair. I used to have 6+ cans of full sugar cans a day - which roughly = 850 calories. I’ve now switched to sugar free (maybe 1 can full sugar a day) so I was deluded enough to think that would make a crazy big difference. I guess I’m hoping for a quick fix when there isn’t one!

PumpkinPie2016 · 29/04/2018 10:14

Hmm yes might be worth you getting some new scales as the differences do seem large.

You are cutting back on calories in the drinks alone so at least you are heading in the right direction.

I managed to go for a walk/jog this morning which was good - I jogged more than I did when I went out earlier in the week so think I am progressing albeit slowly.

PumpkinPie2016 · 30/04/2018 05:54

Just weighed in and I and lost 6lb in week 1 - over the moon Grin. I know the loss is always bigger in week 1 so it will slow after this but I am going to enjoy it Glitterball

How is everyone else getting on?

I am feeling spurred on now to keep going!

CurlyRover · 30/04/2018 07:36

Wow Pumpkin that's amazing!

@PenApple you're doing fantastic cutting down so much on the sugar. It's not an easy thing to do so well done

This week I've put on 2lbs but considering the week before I lost 5 lbs I don't feel so bad as that's still 3 lbs loss over the 2 weeks. I'm in a healthy weight bracket whereas two weeks ago I wasn't. Although I don't feel healthy iyswim.

I agree that 1200 calories isn't a lot!

PenApple · 30/04/2018 13:20

That’s amazing Pumpkin!

Curly well done! As you’re now a health weight it will probably come off more slowly. I’ve still got a stone to go before I’m at the top of the healthy weight range Shock.

I’ve bought new singing and dancing scales so will weigh in on them in the morning.

PumpkinPie2016 · 30/04/2018 16:22

Well done Curly Glitterball I am now also at the top end of the healthy weight range so will probably slow down now Smile

MrsPeggyPatch · 30/04/2018 19:52

Well done Curly and Pumpkin.

Having a bit of a crap week here- I think my 2lbs last week were a bit of a fluke as they reappeared the next day (I hear you diamantegal) and the snacking has crept back in this week. Argh! Such a self sabateur. But I still should be losing weight as it isn't that bad, and i don't think I am.

I'm still training hard and have started the 10K training app but am not feeling the results in my body. I think the first few weeks were such a big change it's now settling down to being 'normal' so feels less exciting and less noticeable changes. Weigh in on Wednesday will tell!

thefishwhocouldwish · 30/04/2018 21:16

Well done Curly and Pumpkin.

I've lost and regained the same four pounds over the last two weeks. It's now 4 weeks tomorrow until I go to Dubai and there is no way this body should be seen in a bikini. I've been really bloated recently too and all the stretchy, roomier clothes have been the ones coming out of the wardrobe!

Enough is enough, though. I had a good gym session yesterday (6k run, 10k bike and 15 mins on the elliptical) and need to keep up the pace this week, although hopefully the weather won't be as bad as this morning. I was really tempted to drive to work, but that reduces my step count by about 60% so I resisted. No more junk for me, lots of clean eating and exercise instead.

PenApple I hope those new scales are kind to you!

PenApple · 01/05/2018 10:18

Well new scales put me at 10st 13, old ones at 11st 1 - so I’m going with the new ones naturally 😬. Which means I should probably reduce my start weight by 2lb, meaning only 3lb loss in 2-3 weeks.

They’ve also said my body fat is 40% which is Shock.

When baby goes for next nap I’ll squeeze 15 mins of Leslie in - burn 1/3 of my breakfast haha.

PumpkinPie2016 · 01/05/2018 18:43

Keep going peggy - I wonder if your exercise is affecting your loss? Can you measure your waist/hips/chest as well and you may see differences there even if not always on the scales?

fish 4 weeks is still time - sound like you are doing loads of exercise which is great! I am struggling to run this week due to work commitments but hoping to make it up at weekend.

Glass the new scales are better penapple

Still keeping on track and I seem to feel less hungry so that's a good sign (I think!)

PutTheChocEggDown · 01/05/2018 18:49

Lots of us over on the Blood Sugar Diet if anyone is wondering what to try.

MrsPeggyPatch · 02/05/2018 13:16

Thanks Pumpkin. Weighed in after my run today (which wasn't massively hard going!) and lost half a pound. Better than a gain! So
I'm going with it.
I think I may start measuring as well but clothes are fitting better. It shouldn't be affecting my weight loss too much- unfortunately I have rather a lot to lose so I imagine before the muscle gain will impact I'll have to get a fair bit smaller! Onwards and upwards as I've decided there is no other way! I'm a bit more positive today as I'm not on a diet but managing to lose weight and make healthier choices.

Pen glad the new scales are helping! My body fat percentage is similar so I'm trying to keep an eye on that as well. We can only do our best though and have to enjoy life too. Plus you have a baby small enough to nap- you're doing brilliantly even thinking about exercise!

PenApple · 02/05/2018 14:57

Haha thanks Peggy, he’s 9 months and naturally exhausting 😬 - I’m a pig though there’s no denying it, just need the willpower!

Have to admit I don’t think I’ll ever manage to get myself for a run so hats off to you!

The last time I lost lots of weight I started painkillers and lost my appetite so I’ve never had to work at it before gah!

thefishwhocouldwish · 02/05/2018 17:10

Well done on the loss Pen and MrsP

Sobering thought for the day - if I meet my interim goal of 5kg by 29 May, I will be 100g under what I weighed on 14 Feb Sad Talk about self sabotage!

Anyway, 10% off so far as I was 1kg down this morning so that's a good start. I also seem to be having my second period of the not-quite-menopause (last one in Feb, one before was in June 2017) so I guess that might account for some of the bloating I was experiencing.

Got home nice and early, but the weather is too windy, cold and unpredictable for a run so I'm going to get a HASfit or Body Coach workout done instead and stay warm and dry.

PumpkinPie2016 · 02/05/2018 17:28

Well done on the losses Smile

Is anyone finding they are feeling less hungry? I have been on mfp with 1200 cals just over a week and definitely feel less hungry than before?! I am finishing at it under calories most days as well?

Suppose I should be glad I am not hungry!

MrsPeggyPatch · 02/05/2018 17:39

Haha just realised I said my run wasn't hard going- total autocorrect fail as it was horrendous!!

Fish - don't be hard on yourself, I'm currently aiming to just be overweight (as opposed by to obese which on the face of it is a bit of an embarrassment!

Pen never thought I'd be a runner, awful at it even when super fit as a kid. But I enjoy challenging myself now and the couch to 5k programme is great

pumpkin- yes, much less hungry and my thoughts don't revolve around food as much. I try not to eat until after a workout/lunchtime and it's not hard anymore . Slightly easier for me as I live in a (terribly) hot country which I think quashes my appetite!

fluffygreenmonsterhoody · 03/05/2018 11:05

Hi everyone
Sounds like we’re all gradually moving in the right way. I went back on the scales last night and am now down 2.2kg/4.8lb in three weeks so that’s about right for my 1lb/week goal.

Can I just remind everyone that we’re the slow, steady, doing-it-the-right-way thread!

Try not to be downhearted if it’s not falling off. We’re changing our lifestyles so we stay healthy, not just trying to ‘diet’.

Ps stop weighing everyday. That way madness lies!

Pps 1200 cals is sodding miserable tho eh?

Popsicle30 · 03/05/2018 20:09

Sorry everyone I feel like I’ve been awol! Don’t worry I haven’t completely fallen off the wagon or anything.

It sounds like there been some great progress from everyone, really well done!

Pumpkin I agree my appetite has definitely decreased and I’m not craving as many sweet things.

Fluffy I’m still with you on the 1lb a week goal and because of this I don’t feel I’m making too many sacrifices and just changing my habits. I’m finding it really liberating. I’m also not going mega on wxercis because for me I just know I won’t sustain it. It’s the walking that I’m still working on, trying to get steps in and at least 30 active minutes at least four times a week.

It’s weigh in for me in the morning so will see what the scales say. I’ve lost 4lb to date so an extra 1lb would be nice tomorrow. If I actually look back at a couple of months ago when I was at my heaviest then I’ve probably lost closer to half a stone. It’s definitely noticeable. I’ve had a few comments off people and most of my clothes are fitting so much better. However I have to be mindful to keep going because th S is sometimes where I fall off because And then don’t get to my goal. I still want to look well ok my bikini in 8 weeks time!

I’ve been using the same scales to weigh me but my mum thinks mine are actually 2lb out (heavier) as she’s smaller on hers and at them one in boots! I may actually weigh less but I’ll have still lost the same amount 😄.

Good luck everyone!

Ps: how do I bold people’s usernmaes when responding?Grin

Popsicle30 · 03/05/2018 20:11

Sorry for typos...should have previewed!!!

Popsicle30 · 04/05/2018 11:19

Just over 1lb lost this week (1 1/4). So that’s just over 5lb lost. I’m feeling good and already done at least 30mins of active walking.

PenApple · 04/05/2018 14:00

Well done Pop (to bold you add an * at start and end of word 😊)

I’ve had a rubbish few days but have managed to lose another lb which I’m pleased with. Not sure how I’ll do when I weigh in on Monday as weekends never go down well...

PumpkinPie2016 · 04/05/2018 14:49

Slow and steady is definitely the way to go!

Had a bit of a rubbish day yesterday as finished slightly over calories due to work being manic.

Should even out over the week though!

I definitely feel less tired than I used to do that's a good benefit to the new regime.

thefishwhocouldwish · 05/05/2018 13:12

Well done popsicle and I agree that slow and steady is the way to go, if you have time. I was always amused by those people on How to Lose Weight Well who wanted to lose 2st in a fortnight!

I started again on Monday and interim weigh in this morning showed a 2kg loss so far. I'm trying to put off eating until at least late morning and then just having a yogurt and fruit to keep me going until dinner time. It seems to be working so far. That's 1/5 of my intended loss so I'm pleased about that.

PumpkinPie2016 · 06/05/2018 07:19

2kg is great fish Smile

I felt like I had done less well this week as work has been mad and although I have tried I was sure I hadn't done well this week. However, I weighed today ( a day early) and have lost another 2.5lb so I am happy with that!

So, in total I have lost 8.5lb in the two weeks since I startedSmile

MrsPear · 07/05/2018 09:32

Hello still here and plugging away - weigh in this morning and I was 10st 7. Pleased with that. I am also in the slow and steady camp - 11 weeks until holiday! I’m basically doing three meals and no crap - fallen off a few times but mostly sticking to it.
