I need to stop the slide. I’m now over 11st and it’s all round my waist and face which at 5ft 4in is starting to make me look as wide as I am tall.

Back on mfp and going for 10k Fitbit steps to start off.

Would love some company, otherwise I’ll just witter on to myself anyway Grin

Can i join? I easily need to lose a stone or more as I'm very bottom heavy for my slender top half - I'll lose it all over but really need to shift it from my waist, tummy, backside and thighs. I'm emigrating in August and it's going to be almost perpetual summer so there will be nowhere to hide. School holidays do me no favours so I'm going to be strict over the weekend and then get even more on top of it once Monday comes.

I did lose 6lbs in Jan/Feb but I've eaten crap and put it all back on. No one to blame but myself.

fluffygreenmonsterhoody · 14/04/2018 08:46

Welcome Haz and Fish!

Norman kids are horrible eh? I’ll never —forgive— forget DS telling me I was big and fat and cuddly like the gruffalo. Even if he did think it was a compliment!

Peggy I’m channeling Gandalf - we shall not slide!

MrsPear I had a similar revelation re hummus. I had figured/convinced myself that since it had chickpeas it was practically one of my five a day. Oops.

Had a good food and steps day yesterday. Today will be trickier with a kids’ party which includes enough pizza for the adults. I’m torn between not touching it and thinking that if I’m actually trying to change my mindset as well as my weight then that means having the odd pizza slice is ok, just don’t have four or five like I normally would. 🤔

Hi all I'm desperate to shift 2 stone now, had dc3 last July, put on 4&1/2 stone lost 1 & a half post baby (he weighed a hefty 10lb 3!) and managed to lose a stone, put it all back on over Christmas/new year JUST shifted it so now needing to get rid of these last 2!
Have been at slimming world off & on over the last few years, it has worked for me but I need more! I've had a lightbulb moment this week, dreading the "heatwave" we're expecting next week as I'm still in bloody maternity leggings & baggy tops, feel horrible & flabby!
Started doing the hiit workout on weds that @Normanisan1sland posted - its great, shows how unfit I am but powering through it each morning! Also using mfp so I'm aware of how many calories I'm eating rather than the as much free/speed food as you like of slimming world! Good luck everyone!

Normanisan1sland · 14/04/2018 09:19

Glad you've enjoyed it Damnpeskykids !
Last night we had our Fri night pizza but I stopped when I was full and didn't have any pudding! I also had a v low calorie brekkie and lunch in preparation.
Like you Fluffy I want this to be a permanent mindset change so need to be good 80% of the time and still enjoy the odd treat - just not let it become a daily treatfest lol!
We are off camping tonight for the last night of the holidays so hopefully will walk/climb enough to earn the gin I shall require to survive a night in the wilderness with 3 kids!
Have a good day everyone :) Off to do day 7 of the 7 minute workout!

MrsPeggyPatch · 14/04/2018 20:05

Wow! Camping sounds great norman though surely gin is needed for warmth as well?

Up and down day here, gym this morning, though an easy day, then I hopped on the scales (I'm a daily weigher..I know I know) and I'd regained the 3lbs that had come off during the last week... I have til weds to pull it back.

I get you fluffy and norman I'm trying hard to not be on a 'diet' but make sustainable healthy choices. Ended up having a slice ignore pizza for lunch at kids funfair but didn't have the candy floss/popcorn etc. Came home and had fruit and half a slice of bread to fill up.
Dinner was fajitas so a bit more bread today than I would've liked but I only had two wraps (ther were home made so small too!) embarrassingly I would've not previously eaten at least one more!

thefishwhocouldwish · 15/04/2018 09:42

norman and peggy sounds like some good self-restraint going on there. I didn't eat much yesterday, but one of the two oranges I ate was made by Terry's!! Anyway, it's gone now and I have no more chocolate in the house. I'm a daily weigher too and I was down 300g this morning.

I'm going out for a run when the person who said she'd come between 9 and 9.30 finally arrives. Probably 5k, I'm a bit out of practice as I've been running half a dozen times in the last two months. The plan is that I get out a lot more often now it's not snowing or raining quite as often.

Popsicle30 · 15/04/2018 10:04

Hi everyone and welcome to those that are new.

Sorry just been catching up as I’ve had a busy weekend.

I agree that I’m wanting to change my mindset and ways so I’m not going fully fledged diet as I know I won’t stick to it long term. We went out for food on Friday evening and I just ate until I was full and no pudding. I’m just thinking better about it all. Fingers crossed it lasts.

Well done everyone on the exercise front. It’s still walking for me that I’ve increased and I’m happy with that. I do like the look of the 7 minute workouts though and think I may give those a try from tomorrow morning. I could manage those even with a toddler around! She says...

I’ve made homemade soup for lunch and there is talk about us going to an ice cream parlour today but after we’ve done a walk. I’ll see how I feel when I get there and either order a small one, help my toddler or get a coffee Smile. I’m not going to never have treats just all in moderation.

Ps I am a daily weigher too! Is that good or bad?!

Love camping Norman. We have a campervan now and love getting away even if it’s just for a night. First trip this year in a couple of weeks.

Good luck today and enjoy your Sundays!

MrsPear · 15/04/2018 12:33

Well I survived Zizzi. I had the prawn linguine plus a couple of bits of starters and a glass of wine. I also had a slice of birthday cake for tea. That and a light breakfast should have put just over at 1500. A vast improvement on my usual - my favourite dish there is over a 1000 kcal! And I wonder why I put on weight Grin

Today I missed breakfast to have brunch - open sandwich with scrambled eggs and dieters ham. The stuff in a plastic packet with no added water.
Big salad later - need veggies - with small spag Bol - need to put recipe in mfp. Mine is small on mince but big on veg.
Fruit for afters. Usually I’d make cake to have with custard!

Have a good Sunday. Nearly back to school time!

MrsPear · 15/04/2018 12:36

Oh and I weigh weekly - still deciding on day. Mfp prompts me.

fluffygreenmonsterhoody · 16/04/2018 06:48

Morning all, happy Monday!

My weekend was okay-ish. Had two scoops of ice cream and a cheese sarnie (not together) yesterday which isn’t ideal. But again, I’m trying to lose 14lb in 12 weeks not in two weeks so I have to be ok with sometimes eating like that.

Not having anything bad and losing weight quicker in the past has led to me been gasping, slipping down that slippery slope and putting it all back on.

Slow and steady wins the race apparently (tell that to Usain Bolt...).

pinkginanyone · 16/04/2018 06:58

Placemarking! Looks like your all doing well so far. I’ve homidays at the end of August and I am heavier than ever 😢.

Currently 11.12 and is like to lose at least 14 lbs before my holiday, it’s an AL so no doubt I’ll put it all back on again when I go away for two weeks. I feel so big at the min it’s not good, nothing fits!

MrsPear · 16/04/2018 15:55

Well mfp prompted me to weight in - 10 st 11. So that is a nice loss although I think my period ending helps. This week will be slower as a result.
Granola with yogurt for breakfast and berries.
Jacket with half portion of bolognese from yesterday for lunch with green salad.
Chicken tonight / I’ll cook it with veggies and add fajita seasoning. Salad to go with. Depending on count I may have a little rice.

fluffygreenmonsterhoody · 16/04/2018 20:07

Hello Pinkgin, I feel ya about the all inclusive! I’m just back. Apparently eating a three course breakfast (and lunch and dinner) isn’t conducive to a healthy weight! Boy was it worth it tho...

Hurrah for you MrsPear - what a fabby start 👊🏼

diamantegal · 16/04/2018 20:12

Can I join too please? DS is back to school on Wednesday so I'm giving myself tomorrow as the last day of holiday and then 1,200 calories out is!

I've got about a stone to lose by July, although preferably more and earlier, but trying to be realistic. I did it before through MFP so I know it'll work as long as I stick to it!

thefishwhocouldwish · 16/04/2018 21:32

Well done MrsP nice work!

Yes, fluffy got to agree with you there, although apparently two weeks off work isn't a great idea even if you don't go away Blush

Got in from work and went for a run, second run in two days! I just did 35 mins so about 5.5 km. I've had a really good day foodwise too so hopefully the scales will reflect that.

fluffygreenmonsterhoody · 16/04/2018 22:39

Hello Diaman, welcome aboard. Enjoy your day tomorrow and see you on the other side for 1200 per day!

Fish that’s awesome running! That’s pretty much 5k in half an hour, fab fab fab!

OP posts:
MrsPeggyPatch · 17/04/2018 19:26

Well done MrsP, that's great going.

thefish that's impressive running. I'm doing couch to 5k and am excited that I physically can run for 28 mins- but realised I'm so slow that it's going to take me about 38 minutes to run 5k rather than the timed 30!!! Ah well keep going.
Today has been ok, light gym this morning, then I forgot to have breakfast which I've been having about 1030. Salad for lunch was a bit naughty as had avocado but not too bad an no dressing.

The munchies hit as I wasn't cooking dinner and I lost will power but it wasn't as bad as it could've been. Dinner was corned beef hash which again isn't the best but part of what I've struggled with before is having to make food for a diet and fitting family meals in too, so this is about searching for balance!
Weigh in tomorrow, I'm going to do it after my run in the morning!

thefishwhocouldwish · 17/04/2018 21:50

Thanks MrsPeggy I can do it in 30 minutes if I put my mind to it and it's not hilly and I'm not so out of practice. My natural pace is about 32:30 which around 9.3km/h if on the treadmill. I did the Great North Run last September and have really slacked off since then! I didn't go out tonight as I still had DOMS from the last two runs.

Another healthy eating day for me. Scales hadn't budged this morning, but there's always tomorrow. Knowing I'm accountable to you lot is really helping me too, so thank you all for your support.

MrsPeggyPatch · 18/04/2018 14:39

Weigh in this morning after my run -4.7 lbs. I'm pleased but know it's not going to be consistently that- that's just the first week water weight etc.
Skipped breakfast and ended up eating breakfast for lunch as I couldn't think what to have so added some granola to my fruit and yogurt, very tasty. Chilli and rice for dinner.

MrsPeggyPatch · 18/04/2018 14:41

thefish you are speedy! I run at about 8.1 in the treadmill (0.5 gradient). I'm aiming for endurance at the moment (very new to running) and then I'll think about speed!! What are DOMS?

Flowersonthewall · 18/04/2018 18:15

Can I join? I had my third and last baby two years ago and still notshifted the baby weight! I'm on day 3 of eating well and exercise and started on Mon at 11 st 8 Hmm would really like to get to 10 from by the summer hols which I think is achievable..with lower carb, less alcohol and generally stop the snacking!!

MrsPear · 18/04/2018 18:28

Hello flowers my youngest is five and my baby weight is still here. I got down to 9st 10 after ds1 and then got a sticky pregnancy with ds2.

Excellent weight loss mrsPeggyPatch

I am not a natural runner apparently my technique is awful [i can still hear my pe teacher shout that over 20 years later!] thefishwhocouldwish I am sticking to Leslie 30 day plan currently.

A bit over calories today - I would have been under if I didn’t have bacon in the sauce. Busy day exercise wise - 30 minutes strength training with Leslie, school run, walk to doctors and mowing the grass front and back! I don’t understand how the exercise bit works on mfp but surely that must have burnt the extra 150 calories I’ve eaten?!

thefishwhocouldwish · 18/04/2018 18:44

Mrs Peggy DOMS = delayed onset muscle soreness...you know, that feeling you have a few hours or the morning after a run when you get up from your chair like an old lady!

diamantegal · 18/04/2018 21:15

Day one done (at least it will be shortly!). Starting weight was 11st 1lb, which at 5ft 2 is not ideal.

Good first day though, slightly over on the calories but only by 100 or so. I should lose a couple of pounds fairly quickly as I've only put them on through eating crap over the holidays - or at least that's the plan.

Jealous of all you runners - a combination of running Jillian Michaels have knackered my knees so they make hideous cracking noises whenever I flex them. Need to get back to swimming, but that just takes so much more time...

fluffygreenmonsterhoody · 20/04/2018 15:42

Hey and welcome new folks. Sorry for the radio silence, had a busy few days with one thing and another.

And then last night happened... oops!

Me and my hangover are back on it today; how are you feeling coming into our second weekend?

Right. 14lbs in 12 weeks...
