So, winter has us in its icy grasp as March begins but by the end of the month we will be lighter, warmer and, erm, slenderer!

Softpebbles hope you're ok! How did you injure yourself? Flowers

Ooh a date with a non-scoundrel sounds promising Hairspray! I get what you mean about it being a bit soon, but a drink and a catch up can't hurt.

IheartCaptainHolt · 06/03/2018 13:06

2lb off for me this week so March is off to s good start. Only 3lb to get into the next stone bracket.

Softpebbles · 06/03/2018 13:47

Spur - running 😩

Therealjudgejudy · 06/03/2018 15:37

Hi all. Hairspray Flowers for you. Defo think you should go for a drink and catch up with this guy even as mates. You deserve it.

Welcome all the newbies! Didn't make it to the gym yesterday but did spend an hour shovelling snow so that counts for something Grin.

Just back from an insanely good gym session. 817 calories burned. My reward will be a picnic bar this evening with my coffee. Am back low carbing so eating all the protein but am allowing myself a bar of chocolate a day. I use mfp and never eat back my exercise calories. In my mind it defeats the purpose of working out.

Hoolahoophop · 06/03/2018 16:16

Hi all, thank you for the well wishes, I'm afraid I'm behind on reading the thread but thought I'd give you a quick update. Dd's surgery was successful but there were minor complications so it took a while and they have left her chest open until she is completely stable and the swelling has gone down. So she's sedated and muscle relaxed in intensive care but doing well. All indications are looking good and they may close her chest tomorrow. It's her birthday so we have special permission to decorate her bed space with balloons and banners.

Hope everyone is doing well.

twinkledag · 06/03/2018 16:20

Sending you @Hoolahoophop and best wishes to your DD. x

ponygirlcurtis · 06/03/2018 16:27

Sounds beyond stressful Hoola, hope you can manage to make DD's birthday special, wee poppet.

Not2bObvious · 06/03/2018 16:44

Thanks for the update hoola, it sounds so scary but I guess that’s part & parcel of procedures like this. Sending lots of lovely happy birthday wishes, you’ll have some stories to tell her when she’s a big girl!
Booked into the gym for my first class in around 3.5 weeks, I feel rather scaredShock

MysticFlyTrap · 06/03/2018 16:47

Hi there everyone (waves) can i join you.
I successfully lost 2 stone last year but i have creeped into bad habits again and put on around 7lb in the last 5 months so need to get back on the wagon. My plan is to do slimfast for 2-3 weeks and then a combo off calorie counting some days and slimming world (i get easily bored).
My current weight is 13st4.5, my goal is to get to 10 stone as i will look and feel much healthier. I'm expecting this to take 9 months to a year (i'm in this for the long haul). Doing this for myself and to find a new love interest as got out of a very longterm relationship last year. Day 1 here and i'm hoping after a week or so it will get easier and my motivation doesn't wave

Thisimmortalcurl · 06/03/2018 18:52

Hello all thanks for the welcome.
@TheDonald, yes I did get to my goal weight. I love a holiday though so always gain a few then try to be strict.
@Not2bobvious.
I pretty much lost 1lb or 2lb a week and holidays etc shoved it back up then down again.
I tried to walk 10,000 steps a day , went on my exercise bike every time Eastenders was on and rode till the dial said I had burned 200 cals . It’s been in the hall untouched for a while now though .
My stats were .
I’m 5 ft , I was 10 stone 1 last April and got down to my lowest which was pre a holiday holiday of 7 stone 12 in the September.

I like being 8 stone and am 8 / 4 at the moment .
I have had a really unusual last couple of months though . About a week or so after coming back from Lanzarote in January got really ill and ended up being diagnosed with Ecoli 0157. Anyway it’s taken a long time to recover and with that I’ve been off work and pretty much quarantined to the house .
Anyway I got clearance today from public health so will need to get back into rat race.

slightlysoreboobs · 06/03/2018 22:06

Wow lots going on on this thread!

Flowers for hoola
I hope you’re sleeping ok with all of this going on?

I’ve had a long long day - I’m troubled by insomnia from time to time and I’ve been awake since 3am. Managed to keep under 1300 calories even though there were loads of cakes on offer at work - I had a tiny piece to be polite and then stopped Halo!!

Not2bObvious · 07/03/2018 07:46

Morning all. Survived the gym and did a jog/walk this morning. Over 7,000 steps so a nice dint in my target (12-15,000) I’ll walk my dd to school as well so I should have 10,000 in the bag by 9😬
Gosh slight, I cannot stick to low cals, just can’t. I’m on 1700 a day but then I’ve a good 2+ stone on you so that’s probably why I feel I need more. My weight is back to Fridays so back on track, I’ve been really good the last 2 days, within cals, plenty of water, decent exercise. I’ve 3 weeks to go for my break away and I so so want to be under 11 stone. If I manage that there’s every chance I’ll be well behaved on hols to hang onto that. Especially considering I haven’t been under 11 in....20 years? Must stay focussed (steely eyed stare is back)
Wishing your little girl a v happy birthday hoola, big slice of 🍰 for you!

Kikisdeliveries · 07/03/2018 08:03

Ooh good weigh in today - think it might be lowest in a year or so.

Current eating plan is attempting to raise my protein levels which in reality seems to mean low carb and high fat. I have discovered that 0% Greek yogurt is really high in protein so that means my yogurt addiction is safe though I prefer the full fat version.

The reason I'm trying this is not so much about weight loss but because I've been feeling really crappy for months and medical checks show no clinical reason for it. Mfp always shows me as low on protein so I thought it would be worth a try. It's hard work though and requiring a lot of thought and adjustments.

Happy birthday to minihoola Cake

lastqueenofscotland · 07/03/2018 08:17

Not going to weigh self today as have had gastrointestinal Armageddon the last 24 hours and I know I'll be super light as have probably shat out a kidney and thrown up a lung (tmi?) and will probably end up being heavier than what I am this morning next Wednesday and don't want to get disheartened

Kikisdeliveries · 07/03/2018 08:26

Yikes lastqueen :( hope you feel better soon.

I was 11.2 this morning Not2, I would very much like to be back in the 10s as well, I know we both keep coming close then Christmas or a holiday intervenes!

lastqueenofscotland · 07/03/2018 08:27

Kiki I've had nothing but Coke and lucozade since about 9 yesterday I never get ill but when I do it's savage Sad

Not2bObvious · 07/03/2018 08:31

Oh that sounds nasty last, keep the fluids up and hope you feel better soon.

Wow kiki, 11.2, you can nearly taste the 10’s! I got to 11.2.8 for 2 days last week, I’m 11.3.8 now, although I’m going by averages these days. Yes holidays get in my way constantly, I love them of course but they’ve been known to set me back weeks! The plan I do pushes a high amount of protein, so I’m no stranger to the 0% Greek! Aldi do a lovely skyr yog with passion fruit, only 120 cals but nearly 12g of protein. Sorry you’re still feeling a bit meh

Kikisdeliveries · 07/03/2018 08:40

Not2 injury is the other set back issue for both of us too, the least fun one. I've been re-evaluating everything lately and on my list is being a lot more careful with myself and avoid training when fatigued.

Kikisdeliveries · 07/03/2018 08:53

That sounds really obvious when I write it down... Blush

I've had a lot of training obligations up until very recently so I guess it's been a lot about not letting other people down. This year I can focus on me and healing.

HairsprayBabe · 07/03/2018 09:29

9.6 again!

Badminton tonight

Have decided to go for a drink with non-scoundrel... need to find a good outfit

Feezles · 07/03/2018 09:35

Oh wow, such a lot has happened! Let's hope I don't miss anything!

Hoola, so pleased your DD is out of surgery, I hope they can close her today. Happy birthday to her, and Flowers for you.

Welcome, newbies! You'll love this thread, it's awesomeSmile

Last that does sound savage! You're good not weighing - I understand the logic, and you're right, of course, but I wouldn't be able to resist. I'd see it as the silver lining!

Kiki that is fantastic! Well done you!

And as for me? Well, woe is me! I really need your collective wisdom! I was up again this morning, so I'm now 2lb up on the weekend, and over 1lb up on this weekend. I know the weekend wasn't great for me, but it wasn't that bad either! I can see from the scales that the reason for it is excess fluid - my weight is up but my bodyfat is down. So - how can I get rid of the fluid before I get depressed about it and cave in to the lure of the Easter Eggs? Does anyone have any techniques for beating the bloat?

lastqueenofscotland · 07/03/2018 09:50

I just know the disappointment would be too great next week!

QuimReaper · 07/03/2018 09:50

Sorry Donald, missed your post re the FitBit challenge - it's just a bunch of FitBit wearers on the thread, please do join, it'd be lovely to have you! @leesmum does the admin, I'll leave her to "find" you on FB if she doesn't mind.

leesmum · 07/03/2018 10:05

Quimmy I've sent Donald a pm Smile, how you doing chick? I've not been on here for ages... can't always get on, think my phone is being arsey Grin

QuimReaper · 07/03/2018 10:48

Woof! Just had a catchup - welcome welcome to Majesty and Mystic, and welcome back sparkly! Your three names look awesome together Grin

Everyone's doing amazingly, I'm so impressed. Hairspray sounds like you are ALL OVER this, you sound very positive, and it all sounds rather exciting! Where does non-scoundrel live? Also, I know it's unhappily won, but 9.6 is fucking amazing, was barely a fortnight ago you were lamenting ever seeing the 9s again!

lasty that sounds just awful. I'm with Feezles, I'd be on the scales constantly for the silver lining Grin You're far too sensible.

TV with all that indulgence I'd be MUCH more than one Linda up, so I think you've done brilliantly - the steps and tennis are obviously paying off.

Happy birthday to MiniHoola - hoping the subsequent ones are spent at home with cake! Lovely that they're letting you have balloons and things. You're holding up amazingly Flowers

Faaaaaairly good day yesterday, not too amazing on steps but made up for it with hooping. I made a frittata, I normally have about a quarter and DH splits the rest between dinner and lunch for the next day, but he forgot to take his lunch into work so was ravenous, so instead of ringfencing some for lunch I decided we'd eat the whole thing, anticipating him eating the lion's share, but in the end he only had about half of it... so I had the other half Hmm I didn't need it, but it was LOOKING at me and I was powerless to resist. At least it was only made with egg whites as I had 6 leftover in the fridge from making custard on Saturday, so a fairly virtuous thing to splurge on, and it wasn't a bad day overall.
