So, winter has us in its icy grasp as March begins but by the end of the month we will be lighter, warmer and, erm, slenderer!

Hope you’re ok quim, it was my mums a couple of weeks ago, knocks you a bit. I misread your comment about dh & friend, I thought your dh was still going but his mate was coming to yours...thought that was odd but I now see!
boop you’ll be back to normal in no time, hope you had a ball, I’m sure it was worth it. Judging by the amount of people I see running when I go away I’m not the only nutter 😂 That makes me feel slightly better. I just love going out in the early morning sun and getting it done, well I love it when it’s done - the doing I huff/puff through.
My dads over for dinner, need to get moving soon but for now a cuppa & a wee relax, busy day

Mary1935 · 22/03/2018 19:40

Hi I'm two weeks in and not finding it too difficult but need to up the exercise. My mood is low and it's difficult. Anyway am down to 12 stone 4 from 12st 7 so I'm pleased with this.
My stomach is giving me problems though, I'm not sure what's causing it but it's not diarrhoea thankfully. Hope it settles.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 22/03/2018 20:50

Well done Mary Star that's a good start.

It's so hard to motivate yourself to exercise when you're feeling low isn't it. The cold weather and dark nights don't help either.

I can't wait for spring and some warm weather.

slightlysoreboobs · 23/03/2018 07:15

8 st 12.6 this morning. I don’t understand because I’ve eaten all manner of crap the last few days but I’m happy!

Mary I struggle with low mood too and find walking outside (when I can, and when the DC will come with me!) really helps. What helps you?

Not2bObvious · 23/03/2018 07:42

Hope your little one is better slight, you haven’t gained (or did you lose a little too?) cause you burned it off. Your TDEE could easily be 2000-2500 on busy days running around with kids.
I’m having a gain week, my average is definitely going to be up on Sunday 1-1.5 but in the scheme of things it’s just a weeks delay on my weight loss experience.
We’ll done mary, 3lb over 2 weeks is excellent. Don’t stress about specific exercise initially, maybe aim to be more active, 20 minute brisk walk here or there. Build it up.
I’m on a busy one today, school run, home, bit of work, gym, home, bit of work, school run, babysitting for family. With luck I’ll forget to eat so much - HA! At least I won’t be drinking. Happy Friday y’all

Mary1935 · 23/03/2018 07:47

Thanks all for the encouragement - slightlysoreboobs - yes walking helps but I feel isolated and it gets me down. I'm joking a choir after Easter so that will help.
Enjoy your day everyone.

BitOutOfPractice · 23/03/2018 09:03

Not2 we didn't get to bed before 4am while we were away so running was a non-starter

Right, I have faced the music on the scales. Back up to my post-Christmas weight Blush I have set myself a target to be at goal by my birthday in mid-June. Grim determination all round here

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 23/03/2018 09:15

Up til 4am boop? You’re my kinda crazy! Or you were until I got old and boring😉 Sod the gain, it’ll be gone in a couple of weeks with a steely stare and a dose of grim determination. Weight goes, memories are made & kept, the fun you had will last longer than the gain.

QuimReaper · 23/03/2018 09:29

Of course you can do it BOOP, you've proven that over and over again! And remember what happened after your last hol? I bet a few consecutive days back on it and your body will go "Oh, OK, we're doing this again" and just whoosh it all off. (The extra weight from your koko barnacle should help Grin )

Thanks so much for all the well wishes all. Yesterday was a weird day. Somehow the day before was even weirder, I think the leadup was nagging at me, and when it actually came I was just a bit flat and energyless and despondent.

I couldn't get a proper reading on the scales this morning - my scrambled egg meal was a bit, um, indulgent last night to the point I had a bit of a stomachache as I was going to sleep Blush I knew I'd have a lot of "food weight" from it and sure enough the scales showed me as 300g heavier than last week! I knew why but I was still a bit cross, as I had 3 such good days food-wise, was brilliant up until my scrambled egg fest last night, and averaged 20K steps a day over the week. Never mind, maybe I'll get a nice surprise next week before the shitshow of the Easter Weekend begins

BitOutOfPractice · 23/03/2018 09:45

Not oh we party hard! Each morning when I regained consciousness woke up I'd have 6000 steps already on the fitbit from dancing Grin

I had to stop and think what my KoKo barnacle was then Quim Grin

I know I can do it. Just keep kicking myself that I have to keep losing it again and again. And being of ancient vintage, it gets harder and harder.

I am going to ASK tomorrow so I'm just looking at the calories. They have started doing a smaller pizza with big salad. Might go for that. I'm driving so no booze for me Halo

OP posts:
QuimReaper · 23/03/2018 09:45

Not hope you held up OK on your mum's anniversary Flowers It really is weird, I think especially because it's the first one (was it for you too?) and it's just mad to think it's been an entire year since I saw or spoke to him. Really doesn't feel like it.

I thought your last line said "off now for a cuppa and a wee", was wondering why you felt the need to share that Grin

Maj surely your Monday weight was artificially high after the indulgent weekend? I never weigh on a Monday because I'm in denial (!) but Hairspray does (where the beggar is she by the way?) and I think both of us follow the same pattern of packing it on over the weekend and seeing it off by Wednesday or so. If I'm good for 4 days I tend to see a small loss (anomalies like this week notwithstanding); if I only manage 3 I'll break even, but either way I think we both see it as "easy come easy go" weekend weight, as it's mostly water retention and bloat from excess booze salt, sugar etc.

So in short, after an indulgent weekend I'd jolly well expect to see a 2-day "whoosh", I'd be screwed if we didn't Smile

Kick clocks change on Sunday though!

BOOP I too am in awe of your 4am bedtimes - I haven't managed past about 2:30 for years, and even that is once in a very blue moon...!

QuimReaper · 23/03/2018 09:48

How weird BOOP, I haven't been to ask for years and years, if ever, but I was just thinking of going for lunch there as I saw it on O2 Priority! Is that why you're going too?

The dancing will've made a HUGE dent in your gain, I'm surprised you didn't come back lighter! I remember when we went to a rave in Barcelona and DH was really bloated from too much bread and paella and beer, and he couldn't believe it when he basically danced the bloat off in one (long) session. He kept saying "look! I'm not fat any more! I RAVED IT OFF"

BitOutOfPractice · 23/03/2018 10:16

"I RAVED IT OFF!" Grin

I'm impressed with the 4ams too. But when we are there one minute it's midnight, next minute it's 4am. I have no idea how it's the booze

There's always offers on at ASK and we will be in a posh part of London feeding 2 familes so it seemed a good bet. Something for everyone. We have one in our little town too and it's quite reliable

OP posts:
MajestyRoyal · 23/03/2018 11:01

I thought after my sudden loss I would gain a bit more or stay the same but no, a total of 4.6 pounds down since Monday and I really don't know how. I feel like I'm in a dream, surely this can't be right? It's not logical what so ever!

Apologies if I've missed an important post, not read it back as I'm off on my way out and don't have time. Hope you are all doing well though Smile

Haha quim, I share too much I’m sure but not quite to the point that’ll I’ll say I’m off to the loo. Although I have been known to waffle on about my sluggish bowels! No it was the 3rd anniversary but she was v troubled (nice way of saying a mess) and the grieving process never happened in a way I’d expect. Strange experience, hard on the head - anywho don’t mind me, too deep for a lovely Friday! I hope you had lovely memories of your dad and you’re okFlowers
Lots more day to get through. Flipping knackered already, could do with a little nap

BitOutOfPractice · 23/03/2018 12:21

Do it KOKO! Grin

I'm finding it so much easier now I'm measuring not weighing... and ran 4 miles at average 6:50 minute mile pace last night Shock
Finally feeling better about myself now it's about performing running wise not a number on a scale.

TVHubbyClaire · 23/03/2018 13:47

no losses this week but roughly the same as Monday. Not terrible but a challenging weekend on the horizon.

I think I need a new tactic to get me into the 11s as I seem to be sticking around 12 st 3. can't each much less during thed ay because I'm hungry after my early morning walks and am having fruit and soup at lunchtime. Hmm

boop can you do two late nights in a row, I have long lost that capability, love a long night and totally get how midnight becomes 4am in the blink of an eye but next day i am just dead....

Ofthread · 23/03/2018 15:11

Hello all, I've been thinking about frame size. According to wrist measurement I am a small frame. This is why at 5'7" and 10 stone 1, I neither look nor feel slim. Someone else would look and feel great with these stats, I'm sure, but I just look like I'm carrying loads of fat.

I used this: www.superskinnyme.com/body_type_calculator.html

MajestyRoyal · 23/03/2018 15:21

Each morning when I regained consciousness woke up I'd have 6000 steps already on the fitbit from dancing

^ oh wow this has me giggling @BitOutOfPractice GrinGrin

Quim that makes a lot of sense. Im hoping begging myself to stick within my calorie limit this weekend, who knows maybe I will shop off a proper Linda by next Monday!

My lovely self thought it would be a great idea to go Easter shopping today, and I now have 5 eggs and three bags of treats. I though 'they're hollow so can't be much calories'. Fuck was I wrong. The small ones (you know the littlest ones that come with a 'treat size' chocolate) alone are meant to be shared into SIX portions. I could eat two in a row and be fine, but that's why I'm fatBlush I'm going to need so much willpower.

BitOutOfPractice · 23/03/2018 15:34

The trick, TV, is to maintain alcohol levels throughout ie start drinking again before you even think about having a quiet night. I love an all-inclusive hotel. My partner in crime is a fellow Slenderista and she managed to come back without a gain!!

OP posts:
QuimReaper · 23/03/2018 16:23

Ofthread I'm of tiny frame too, it's a real bugger. Apparently in some parts of Europe the BMI chart has adjustments based on frame / bone density, so they take something like 10% off for small frames. I've always thought that makes a heck of a lot of sense. (I read it on MN somewhere though so I don't know how true it is!) I've never even been technically "overweight", in spite of being almost 25 Lindas lighter than I was this time 2 years ago, and I'm still a bit jiggly Confused Although I'm not only small of frame but an apple, so I'm doubly fucked. My sister at least has huge norks to compensate, but when I was at my tubbiest, I swear to God I went out under the boobs and in again at the hips, like Winnie the Pooh. Gorgeous Wink

Side note - are you still an apple if you have huge norks? We've both got narrow hips and flat bums, but I'm straight up and down on top as well, whereas she's definitely what you'd call "curvy" up top. She's like a flipped pear.

BOOP I've never stayed in an all inclusive, I'm not sure I'd survive the experience - I'd be sloshed by 11am if it was all free! We stayed in an amazing hotel on our honeymoon which had all-inclusive breakfast, but by that I mean there were literally ROOMS AND ROOMS of food, there was the usual breakfast stuff but also pizza and sushi and cake and noodles and doughnuts and all sorts of weird shit, and I completely lost my head and ate all of it just because it was there Blush If there'd been booze too I fear I'd have had to have been carried out on a stretcher.

QuimReaper · 23/03/2018 16:26

TV what's your daily calorie intake? I suspect if you keep plugging away it'll drop off eventually, however dull that is. You've done so bloody well to get down to 12.3, you were hovering at 12.7 forever and then suddenly dropped if I remember rightly, so it sounds like that's your loss pattern, to plateau for a bit, lose a bit, and repeat. You're really great at not losing your temper at the scales, I do applaud you. I've been known to swear at mine Blush

BitOutOfPractice · 23/03/2018 16:31

Don't knock it till you've tried it Quimmy!
