So, winter has us in its icy grasp as March begins but by the end of the month we will be lighter, warmer and, erm, slenderer!

No! Just school run, a walk and loads of housework. Shame you don’t get extra points for the steps with a hoover Grin

Not2bObvious · 14/03/2018 15:18

Ahh you get something better than points slight, steps and a sense of achievement😉 Housekeeping pride, me I’m a slattern!
I’m a bit over the 10,000 steps. I missed my bootcamp again so did 2 x 25 min dvds, 1 weights, 1 cardio - according to my Fitbit I burned 380 cals, probably total boll!x but it feels good. Quick potter around a shop in search of green clothes for Patrick’s Day for my dd, they have to dress up for school. Huff, such a pain😡 Managed to buy something that can be worn again so no bloody leprechauns.

QuimReaper · 14/03/2018 18:07

I am ruinously hungry today. No real excuse for it as I had quite a big dinner last night. I suspect it's the stress of my shit show of a day. Someone slap my hand before I reach for the gin!

QuimReaper · 14/03/2018 18:08

AND I've not even managed 8K steps yet due to aforementioned shit show. Argh!

Not2bObvious · 14/03/2018 19:12

I’m battling my own 🍷 urges quim, feck it have a G&T! It’ll only be around 70 cals with slimline tonic, might take the edge off the hunger & relax you. Sorry I know I shouldn’t recommend alcohol but 1 or 2 won’t harm.

Mary1935 · 14/03/2018 21:33

Hi can anyone recommend me a good breakfast with yoghurt please - I'm currently having eggs or Weetabix but I need to get som more calcium and protein in my daily intake.
Thanks a lot.

Feezles · 14/03/2018 22:17

Overnight oats? I love them, but not been organised enough lately.

QuimReaper · 14/03/2018 22:23

Dodged the gin, did 80 mins' hooping which got my steps up over 15K, and now sitting in my newly carpeted living room with a miso soup. Feeling much better about life Smile

Mary I'm a bit confused - the eggs are great protein and the milk is great calcium, aren't they better between them than yoghurt? I'd replace your satsumas or crisps with yoghurt and blueberries though, make your calories go a bit further!

Not2bObvious · 14/03/2018 23:03

Flip! I have a 🍷 & a Gin - oh well I did loads of stuff today as a high cal day wasn’t the worst. Watched a movie with dh & relaxed for a bit, you have to live every now and again! Hoping for better weather tomorrow, rotten here today. Get some steps actually going places instead of around the house.
I’m loving porridge made with a mix of water & around 100ml of milk, will chopped banana as the sweetener. Some protein, calcium, carbs and fibre. A 40gr portion keeps me going v well. I used to think porridge wasn’t filling, certainly isn’t if you’re only eating 25gr! False calorie economy.

Ofthread · 14/03/2018 23:14

Hello you lovely Linda repellers. I’ve been, while not off of the wagon, holding on to it with my claws. I had an iced finger incident lasting from Friday to Sunday. I had read about the No S diet and used that as an excuse. I’ve had and still have a migraine. Today I am coming in just over 1200 calories, I’m so excited, I can actually do this. I had contact lenses in for my hiit session and the dance studio (mirrors all around) and I could see my rubber ring in full technicolour, oh dear. Now I’m off to read your news.

TheDonald · 14/03/2018 23:22

Thank you all. My bum is aching from all the kicks you've given me but it was generally a better day.

Stuck entirely to plan apart from one pointless and really not very nice Paw Patrol cupcake someone was offering round at work. Really wasn't worth the calories.

I also had a lovely pint of cider tonight at the pub quiz but that's the first alcohol I've had since Christmas eve so I'm not going to worry about it.

Not expecting miracles on the scales this week but I am feeling more motivated and I'm going to get off the sugar next week again until I hit 10 3. I've realised that I need to quit sugar to get rid of my craving of I want to lose weight.

slightlysoreboobs · 15/03/2018 06:37

8 st 12.8 this morning.... slow slow progress Hmm

HairsprayBabe · 15/03/2018 07:13

No idea how much I weigh, overnight stay in a holiday inn for training of my new jib so no scales, yesterday I had a mixed bean salad and coleslaw at lunch, then soup veggie wellington and cheesecake...

So could have been better! Skipping hotel breakfast today, and I will only have something small for tea as lunch is provided here again today!
New job is going well so far... still not 100% sure what I will actually be doing though 😂

Not2bObvious · 15/03/2018 07:59

Down .2 and pleased with that. I doubt I’ll see my record low of 11.1.2 tomorrow like last Friday but my average should drop down as long as I don’t lose my sh!t on the weekend. Of course I have company 3 of the 4 evenings (long weekend in Ireland) but menu planning like mad to keep it good. 2 weeks until my break away!

slight have you much to go to goal weight? If you really don’t need to lose a lot, I believe those last few pounds are brutal to shift. In my case every pound is brutal haha! I think a lot about goal setting, yes I know there’s a number I want to achieve but if I get there will I be happy with my body? Or maybe I don’t need to be that number for my body to hit my personal physique goal (I highly doubt this)

MajestyRoyal · 15/03/2018 08:03

OMG OMG OMG OMG I have been stuck weighing 72-74 kg for so long and I have just weighed myself 7 times this morning and every time I got the exact same - 155 pounds which is 70.3kg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you think I could make it into the 60's by Monday? GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin I feel so happy!!!!

Not2bObvious · 15/03/2018 08:09

That’s fantastic Maj!!!! That’s a serious drop, I can imagine you hopping on/off the scales and rechecking. Well done you!

TVHubbyClaire · 15/03/2018 08:27

Hairspray - I never manage to skip a Holiday Inn buffet breakfast, that is highly admirable. I do try to eat miniscule amounts for rest of day to compensate but almost always enjoy a hotel breakfast

I am still floating around the 12st 3 mark which I cant really complain about but feel I am being a bit indisciplined and drinking too much in my local. Going to try a healthier weekend this week and see if I can get any closer to the 11s...Hmm

Feezles · 15/03/2018 09:22

I'm with Claire, I admire your restraint, Hair! I've be straight into the buffet and hang the consequencesSmile.

Good work Maj! That's amazing! It's such a great feeling when all your hard work pays off, isn't it?

Another good weigh in for me today - 12st 9.2, for the second day running. This is pleasing because up until now, I've been yoyoing up and down every single day by 1.3lb, so it's lovely to have two days in a row at what is my lowest weight. My average for the week is looking lovely and healthy, and I'm still hopeful 12st 8 is just around the corner!

Mary1935 · 15/03/2018 11:27

Thanks Quim - I was looking for a bit more variety really so I will look up the overnight oats and have porridge which was another mention.
I suppose it's the change in my diet but I am constipated!!! I'm drinking lots of water too but bought some prunes today. It's giving me a headache. I certainly won't be weighting myself until I've emptied my bowel. It could weigh 5lb 😀

QuimReaper · 15/03/2018 13:26

WOOOHOOOOO Maj that's brilliant, what a lovely whoosh! You had a real live whoosh!

Ofthread migraines are horrid and would drive anyone to the iced fingers. Well done for not going completely beserk, if the wagon's even visible in the background I call that a win.

Donald you haven't drunk since Christmas Eve!!!! I'm STAGGERED by that! Not even a snifter with Christmas Dinner? Wowzer.

Hairspray God, it sounds like you were incredibly sensible for someone who had carte blanche to eat everything in sight. I too think you did really brilliantly.

sore I predict a whoosh for you if you keep up the water. I predicted one for Maj and she got one, so it's clearly just a matter of time and persistence! #MysticQuim

I'm not hungry yet today but I am a bit cross and grumpy, so I should probably eat something sooner rather than later Blush

Feezles · 15/03/2018 13:41

For my birthday (which was in January), my DB and DSIL gave me a 6 month subscription to a postal cheese toastie service. It is every bit as bonkers as it sounds - once a month, the company send me a box that contains the ingredients to make just one of a different kind of cheese toastie. The first month it was brie, bacon and rosemary (sounded ace, was horrid) and last month, if was red leicester, apple sauce and cinnamon (sounded weird, was incredible).

According to DH (who is working from home today, on account of me leaving the house with both sets of car keys in my bagBlush), this month's arrived today. I've been stressing about what to do about it calorie wise. I can't have it for my dinner, as then DH won't have anything (internet shop comes late tonight, so the cupboard is bare), and I know he is really looking forward to the meal we had planned. What to do?

And then I decided - I need to chill the hell out. They are only small, and come in at about 350 cals (ish). So I'm going to eat it for a snack when I get home (mostly using my exercise cals for the day, plus a few more), enjoy it, and still come in below a maintenance consumption.

This is the new me, who is in control of what I eat and who is losing weight whilst still enjoying living my like. I feel liberated. By a cheese toastieGrin.

I'll see you on the other side!

MajestyRoyal · 15/03/2018 14:50

@Feezles one cheese toastie isn't going to make you gain even a 1/4 of a pound. A pound has over 4000 calories in it so it will take a lot more than 350!! Enjoy your treat. Maybe make the delivery day your treat/cheat day?

Thank you on the compliments from my whoosh Grin I don't feel any lighter but that's probably because I have more to go. My legs still touch and my arms still look big but I think I'm going to measure my body and track that too. Weight alone can be down to anything and gradual process won't be seen when I look in a mirror daily.

And to the poster who is surprised that someone hasn't had a drink since last Christmas.... my last alcoholic drink was a mojito with a fancy meal in July 2017 BlushBlush and before that was a birthday party february 2017BlushBlush I'm not a very big drinker at all and only drink on occasions (if I can be bothered spending the money). by mumsnet standards I am weird, people seem to be obsessed with wine and gin on here Grin

Not2bObvious · 15/03/2018 17:32

I think you could say you’re not a drinker full stop YourMajesty, I’m clearly having your share as one of the wine/gin obsessed.
Busy day, no snacks which is great. Looking forward to dinner but a bit low on steps, I’ll be marching on the spot for an hour later😉

Did you drink plenty of water keep? Maybe some more protein would help, can’t have been much tuna or pasta for those calories. Could be as simple as not enough food. Hungry cause you were. If I know I’ve absolutely eaten enough at lunch, I’ll have a hot drink and find something to distract me. A lot of my hunger is habit.
I’ve finished on 1420 which is quite low for me but I went over quite a bit yesterday & I’m out tomorrow night for pizza so a little bit of discipline required. Haven’t got my full step quota in either😩 Early to bed though. If I stay up I may pick!
