For my birthday (which was in January), my DB and DSIL gave me a 6 month subscription to a postal cheese toastie service. It is every bit as bonkers as it sounds - once a month, the company send me a box that contains the ingredients to make just one of a different kind of cheese toastie. The first month it was brie, bacon and rosemary (sounded ace, was horrid) and last month, if was red leicester, apple sauce and cinnamon (sounded weird, was incredible).
According to DH (who is working from home today, on account of me leaving the house with both sets of car keys in my bag
), this month's arrived today. I've been stressing about what to do about it calorie wise. I can't have it for my dinner, as then DH won't have anything (internet shop comes late tonight, so the cupboard is bare), and I know he is really looking forward to the meal we had planned. What to do?
And then I decided - I need to chill the hell out. They are only small, and come in at about 350 cals (ish). So I'm going to eat it for a snack when I get home (mostly using my exercise cals for the day, plus a few more), enjoy it, and still come in below a maintenance consumption.
This is the new me, who is in control of what I eat and who is losing weight whilst still enjoying living my like. I feel liberated. By a cheese toastie
.
I'll see you on the other side!
