Just done day one of 30 day shred

I fucking hate it!

Anyone else shredding?

I'm going on a walking holiday in the summer - 15 miles a day for 10 days over some decent hills, so I really need to get fit(ter at least! And lose weight.). I'm now wondering why I ever thought it was a good idea, I'm much more suited to holidays that involve leisurely meals, gentle strolling and ice-cream!

Ive had the DVD for years but only ever done maximum 5 days at a time. I've never even got out of the first section.

I'm only working a couple of days this week and next week so I'm determined to do it at least 5 times a week for the next few weeks. Even though I fucking hate it! I really hope it will be getting a bit easier after a couple of weeks. Please someone tell me that I will notice a difference in my ability/stamina in that time?

I suffer a bit with shin splints/pain, it's one of the reasons I've stopped in the past. It's particularly the butt kicks, and to a lesser degree the jump rope exercises that I can feel triggering it; so I find myself holding back a bit on these. Maybe I'll just have to do more jumping jacks instead - they don't seem as bad. I don't want to get really sore because that will stop me getting the miles in with the walk training. I'm hoping losing weight will help.

Done it! Level 3 with no stopping (unless you count the part where I had to pause the dvd because 3yo dd came in to tell me that she had done a poo. Which I don't).

I've had enough of Jillian for now, so I'm heading over to kiki's jessica smith thread to try something new. Good luck to the rest of you. No phoning it in Wink

Thanks so much Kiki! You're a 💫

I'm out tonight (spa + dinner!) but will be right back on things from Tuesday.

Well done beela. How do you feel physically?

beela · 20/03/2018 09:14

Thanks itsnice. Good question. I feel stronger 💪 I haven't lost and weight or inches but I lost a lot of weight over the last year or so and have plateaued so I wasn't really expecting to.

Level 2 for me again today, although I couldn’t find my weights so had to use dh’s and they were too heavy. I had to alternate between those and nothing, so not sure how that will have worked? Fitbit recognises it as ‘sport’ though!

I’ve not lost weight for a few weeks (pound on/off yo yo for a few weeks!) but I have definitely lost inches because the jeans I wore yesterday didn’t do up on January 1st and yesterday I took them off without undoing the button!

Thanks Itsnice I'm putting you on the escape committee Grin

Can I join too? Need to lose 20lbs but not expecting that to happen in 30 days! Had a baby 2 months ago, currently 2 stone overweight.

Just did day 1 level 1 today and survived!

I'm hoping I can shift some lbs from doing this every day + swimming, and eating sensibly (no junk but not a diet, ie calorie counting or low carb etc).

For those who've done it before how much did you lose?

Stitchosaurus · 21/03/2018 16:45

I completed Shred (for the first time in god knows how many years of owning it) last year - I felt like an Olympic athlete Grin I was eating shite but the work outs managed to completely change my shape anyway. Developed a waist for the first time in years and looked so much better.

I've got her app now and am doing the Gaunlet programme...oh my god, I think she's trying to kill me! Starting to diet alongside it this time so am hoping for some serious results in a couple of months.

Stitch I did not know she has an App!!! Is it expensive?

Stitchosaurus · 21/03/2018 17:59

I bought it in the new year sale (but I think she has regular sales) and it was about £1 a week - so around £52 once converted into sterling. Totally worth it in my opinion, massive JM fan girl! I'm doing the year-long Gauntlet (mix of cardio and strength, gets harder each month) but she has loads of different programmes on there.

Last night I did day 25 !! 5 more to go
The jumping lunges and rockstar jumps are still impossible.
I've been trying to do the other excercises as well as I can buy often finding I'm having to revert to the modified moves.

Day 27 completed today !!
