It’s been 6 years since the first New Mums thread but this year will be the one where we get skinny for Christmas!

We’ve tried pretty much every diet going and have supported each other through the good times and the bad. This will be our year, motivation is high and panic has set in.

I think you can't stop eating because you are stressed. I'm an emotional eater. It sucks.

Read really quickly,

sol please don't think you are a stranger on the internet, just because we don't see each other in real life does not mean I don't class you as friends, I tell you guys much more than I do my real life friends

Be back in a bit, ds1 has broke both his ties so have to order more and stitch the least worst one up

SolitudeSometimesIs · 06/06/2018 22:13

I read that wrong and thought your DS broke his toes and you were performing some mad operation on him 😂😂😂

I think of you lot as friends too, it's like we always have each others backs. That's why I hate to see you beating yourself up.

1x banana
250g blueberries
350g Greek yogurt 0% fat
1/2 carrot
1/5 cucumber
1/2 yellow pepper
100g of hummus crisps (omg they are so amazing)
2x cream crackers with pickle
1/2 goats cheese and spinach pizza
Side salad with balsamic glaze
1/2 mini bread roll
Homemade ice pop

Racheyg · 06/06/2018 22:30

sol I'm so happy for you. I'm glad you only have two weeks, you can then focus on health and happiness.

Gosh are a brand can't remember the original name but have had a rebrand and they are always selling them. I love all their veggie stuff. Do you like quorn pieces? Im loving them at the moment esp for fajitas.

I think your right, I just wish I had the control I had when I lost 4stone I didn't pick or snack for 8 months. But I didn't have a life Grin.

Haha that made me giggle, ds1 pulls at his school ties so they detach from the elastic. I hate sewing.

Pomegranatepompom · 07/06/2018 06:56

Morning friends Grin

Sol - well done, good decision and will take the pressure off. Exciting too and could be opportunity for you to do something more suited in the future.

I second what Sol so rightly said Rachey. You are far too hard on yourself and you are/will look beautiful on your wedding day.

I had a stressful day at work and ended up indulging in chocolate. Think I came in at 1200 cals. Other than the chocolate I had:
Yogurt/ fruit/granola - 300 cals
Cashew nuts - 200
Cheese and 1! Cracker - 150
Chicken/ veg - 250

Have a lovely day.
Green where are you?!

Greenrabbit · 07/06/2018 09:17

Morning!

I got back on Tuesday morning but spent the day trying to stay awake and could barely string a sentence together (I can’t sleep on planes).
Then I felt so ill on Tuesday night and woke yesterday with tonsillitis.

As part of my new plan ‘start looking after myself’ I headed straight to the walk in and got some antibiotics. Still felt terrible yesterday but I’m feeling more human today.

Going to have a proper catch up on posts and I’ll reply proper later.

Greenrabbit · 07/06/2018 13:50

I think I’ve caught up. Apologies if I miss something important out.

Thanks for your kind messages. We’ve had a few family members die in the last 9 months. It’s kind of depressing. I’m okay though.

I think of you all as friends too. ‘My diet friends on Mumsnet’ Grin

Rachey I did get some ears! It took most of the week to track them down (Rose gold sequins) and I felt such a fat sweaty mess that I didn’t bother wearing them. Been doing housework in them today though!

I agree that you’re too hard on yourself. You looked great on the pictures you put on, those dresses looked loose on you.
Are you dress shopping this weekend again?
I am going to visit Aldi/Lidl for some of those veggie burgers. They sound delicious.
DD2 is desperate to visit Peppa Pig world. I just can’t face the drive down. I’ll have to look into going before they get too big. Let me know how it is.
We’ll have to go to Legoland too. Windsor isn’t too much of a journey.

I need to go out now. Chapter 3 will resume later.

Greenrabbit · 07/06/2018 19:38

Back again.

Sol it sounds like you’ve made the best decision about work. How long is it until the school holidays? The childminding plan is great.
How is everything else? Is DS sleeping any better? How is the healthy eating going?

I don’t know how you stick to 1200 calories Pom and you’ve got to have some chocolate now and again.

Weighed myself this afternoon. I’m lighter than before the holiday. The tonsillitis must have helped.
I’ve been planning this afternoon. Food, diet, lifestuff. Feeling positive.

I was thinking that it’s almost 6 months till Christmas and maybe I should treat it like a new (half) year.
It’s also almost 12weeks until the start of September and I’d like to emerge from the school holidays looking improved instead of my normal untidy self (I love September it always feels like a fresh start).

Pomegranatepompom · 08/06/2018 09:26

Welcome back Green Sorry to hear about your tonsillitis but amazing not to put on weight ! Your new half year plan sounds motivating, this could be our Christmas Grin Glad you are feeling positive.

Yesterday had my usual: Yogurt etc 300 cals, cashew nuts 200 cals, satsuma 50, chicken and salad 350, chocolate again so in all 1200 cals approx. I need some strict fast days.
10 weeks until my summer break, I'd like to be a stone lighter. Will weigh in on Tuesday.

Have a good Friday everyone.

SolitudeSometimesIs · 10/06/2018 05:35

Welcome back Green, sorry to hear about your tonsillitis but that's amazing that you weigh less than you did before your holiday. And I'm loving that you did your housework in your ears Grin I feel the same about Sept, I want to put in the work in private over the Summer and then turn up at the school looking fab.

Your day sounded great Pom, can I please have some of your will power? I'm struggling a bit.

We've had a pretty food based weekend with BBQ's and picnics but I think I have to enjoy this weather and time with the kids and not over think it. The kids finish school for the Summer in 3 weeks, I think our holidays are longer than England's, I'm really looking forward to it. I have a Pinterest board of loads of fun activities for us to do. I can't wait.

How are you getting on Rachey?

Ok, so I tried on some more wedding dresses and have brought one. Whoop whoop!!

I will post a few and will let you know which one after you have seen them all

Oh Rachey those dresses are amazing! You look great in the photos, you look so happy. That's great that you bought one, are you so happy. I love the back on the 5th one, it's gorgeous.

They're all really lovely. I love the big dresses, I had a fitted one for my wedding and loved it but I love a full skirt on a wedding dress. I'll just have to get married again 😂

What one did you go for?

OP posts:
Racheyg · 10/06/2018 13:56

Number 6 the last picture. It felt so comfy and right. As much as I loved the others I don't want to spend my day worrying about bloating ect I also felt like a princess. Grin

It's too big so have to get it altered but at least I don't have to stress about weight loss Grin

Greenrabbit · 10/06/2018 16:39

That’s my favourite Rachey. I love the skirt part.
You look amazing and like a princess!
I got my dress taken in before my wedding. I couldn’t have lived with the pressure to slim into one.

It’s getting close, you must be so excited Grin

Been preparing food for the week. I’m going to be counting calories.
I’m going to get the exercise bike out for next week too.

I think repetition helps when you are dieting Pom.its so much easier than constantly trying to work out calories.

Your weekend sounds lovely Sol Would you mind sharing your Pinterest board? I’m hopeless at thinking of things to do with the DC, they end up feral by the end of the summer.

Pomegranatepompom · 10/06/2018 20:33

Just beautiful rachey you look so lovely.
Congratulations on finding your dress !

SolitudeSometimesIs · 11/06/2018 18:27

It's gorgeous Rachey. Can you leave the alterations til the last minute to take the pressure off? You look stunning in it, what sort of accessories are you wearing with it? Heels or flats?

I had a terrible weekend food wise. I had a massive meal out last night with my friends and then DH and I went out for lunch today, I am so full and so fat. Again.

I found pics of me from 3 three years ago, I weighed 180lbs back then. That's my goal to get to by September.

OP posts:
SolitudeSometimesIs · 11/06/2018 18:28

And I'll happily share my Pinterest page if you let me know how. Do I just give you my name to search?

Greenrabbit · 11/06/2018 21:35

I think that would work Sol. Just PM it. I’ll try and send you a link to mine.

Greenrabbit · 11/06/2018 21:40

I’ve sent you a link to it Sol.

Sorry you don’t feel great. But if you’re anything like me a meal I guess a lunch out is rare? Just start again tomorrow.

I’ve struggled today. Just feeling really tired, I’d planned to do a lot more walking but haven’t had the energy.

Pomegranatepompom · 11/06/2018 21:59

Have to have a social life Sol Good to have a goal and we can spur each other on Smile

Coming back from holidays is so hard Green , baby steps and all that. I am so impressed that you lost weight on holiday !

Rachey I am so pleased for you, I love love love your dress. You really don't need to lose any more weight.

So despite the running and my 2x 800 cal days, I'm not losing weight. So annoying !

Greenrabbit · 11/06/2018 22:28

Maybe you need to eat more Pom? Especially with exercising?

I might just be tired because of the holiday. I forget that I’m not in my 20’s anymore!
I think the weight loss was because of the walking we did. Plus I didn’t actually eat that much. We only had one restaurant meal. Plus we shared a lot. It was just too hot and busy to eat too much.
I think I’ll just try hard with food this week and start increasing exercise next week.

Racheyg · 12/06/2018 08:24

Morning all,

Sorry it's been a busy weekend.

green wow that's amazing I have never heard of weight loss while in holiday, don't discredit yourself with the fact you were ill, like you said you did a lot of walking and we're really busy.

Your 6 month goal sounds great. How is the food planning going?

sol everyone needs a weekend off every now and then. Your Pinterest board sounds great. I'm up for swapping too, although mine is only full of wedding stuff at the moment. Are you counting down the days till your last at work? It must be such a relief.

pom I feel for you, I'm the same with exercise and weight loss. Do you think your not eating enough?

Thank you all for your kind words. I will get the alterations in August. I have so many social things coming up that it's going to be hard to lose a lot of weight. I'm so happy with the dress, I have no idea with accessories, the dress can with look quite princesses or alittle but alternative, so I'm not sure, I love the idea of a leather jackets ect.

I'm have really eaten badly this weekend (think takeaway, subway and McDonald's all in the same weekend)

Today is a fresh start........
Exante shake for breakfast
Sweet and sour noodles for lunch
Banana and blueberries for snack
Chicken salad for dinner
Will go spinning tonight and hope to burn 500cals

Hope everyone has a great day x

SolitudeSometimesIs · 12/06/2018 20:20

I love the idea of an edgy touch to your dress, make it your own style. There's so many ways you could go with it.

Pom I think everyone else might be right, you might need to eat more, or add more protein. It must be very frustrating not seeing your hard work reflected on the scales. Have you noticed any change in your physique?

Green, you sound much more positive this week. I'd there any way you could work in time for some walks as part of your exercise?

I had a much better food day today, tbf it couldn't be worse than yesterday. Head down and on with the healthy eating is my plan. I need to buy a new scales, our one is not reading properly and it's driving me mad. I promised myself I wouldn't weigh for a week, but having no scales might mean that I don't weigh for a while. Which suits me. I need to focus on sticking to a plan instead of the numbers.
