Ready I'm planning to stick to it up until family visits start on 22nd.
I have a work event on the 7th and lunch out on the 8th but I'll try not to go overboard with them. Then no events planned until 22nd.
This year I'm back at work on the 27th and on call until Nye so I can get back on it quite quickly.
Last year I got myself a fancy lindor advent calendar which got every day off to a bad start. I won't be doing that this year.
Tbh I am not really a big Christmas fan anyway. I enjoy the two / three days of family time but I hate all the spending and consumption. I had several years when dd was little and I was skint when Christmas put so much pressure on my finances it ruined it for me.
I'm financially more secure now but still resent the overspending and hassle.
Someone said to me the other day that Christmas is a reflection of society. The women do all the work and a fat white man swoops in and takes the credit!
I'd like it to be like the Olympics. Once every four years!
