School of Fat - anyone want to join me for an academic year of slimming?

Term begins tomorrow!

Im thinking I could shift some of the excess fat by dieting and exercising according to the school calendar?

So:
*Mon to Fri - diet. Im planning on low carbs plus no booze, soft drinks, no snacks etc.
*Weekends - relaxed but mindful
*School Holidays - relaxed but mindful
*Three PE sessions a week - this will be a challenge for me, thinking an attempt at running, plus walking to work at back (6k steps round trip) three days
*Monday morning assembly aka Weigh In, term time only

I will weigh in tomorrow am but reckon am about 13.5stone at 5 foot 2. Ideally Id like to loose 4 stone, in time for next Summers holiday as we will be abroad for the first time in 6 years.

Anyone wishing to share their menus etc, join in!

Im going to update this thread as much as possible so will probably be more of a diary if others dont fancy it.

hello ladies, may i join? I will weigh myself tomoz (literally dreading it but i need to and i'll use my fitness pal for tracking calories.

i work 10 hour shifts and have 2 kids so keeping to a diet is hard as i end up finishing their food!

i am good at the work out side and do 5-6 times if gym or run a week fleets me sane) but recently i have put on weight (can't fasten my work trousers ) Blush

my weaknesses are cheese and chocolate

strongasmeringue · 17/09/2017 21:23

So easy but the best thing I did was discover that if I don't buy it, I can't eat it.

Also, washing up liquid on the kids food as soon as they've had enough. You won't eat it then!

1moreRep · 18/09/2017 07:59

i really don't want to weigh in but i need to! it's weird i have a real thing about a "weigh in" but i need it to track and to assist with calorie planning

1moreRep · 18/09/2017 08:13

ok 72.3kg and i want to be 63 so i have a long way to go (170 cm)

strongasmeringue · 18/09/2017 08:14

If you don't weigh yourself you won't know how much to celebrate your loss..

Dizzybintess · 18/09/2017 08:16

Can I be a late pupil x I'm going to start slimming world again on Wednesday x

1moreRep · 18/09/2017 12:33

so usual gym session followed by 3 eggs and carrott soup - i really want bread now

CotswoldStrife · 18/09/2017 13:45

Meh, no change again here - it's obviously my weekend that is not helping! I was over-snacking yesterday. Onwards and upwards, I will check in more regularly this week.

strongasmeringue · 18/09/2017 14:20

CS, weigh yourself in Friday, not after a treat weekend.

1moreRep, I expect you resisted the bread. Well done.

Welcome, Dizzy. Good luck.

1moreRep · 18/09/2017 16:39

yes i resisted and have just put my dinner into my fitness pal i'm going to try to keep well under 15000 cals per day as i do lots of high intensity excersize at crossfit- if anyone wants ideas for gym or home workouts ill happily help (not my job or anything but i've always done a lot of sport)

it was my day off today so i'm back i work for 4 ten hour shits as of tomoz so i'm going to ensure i excersize daily

macandcheesewithbacon · 19/09/2017 08:06

Can anyone help. Feel very low. I have a horrible cold - 3rd day - and have been taking ibuprofen and paracetamol but not eating more. I've put on 5 lb in the last 3 days, I don't understand. I haven't ever owned a set of scales before so maybe this is normal - any advice? Please?

1moreRep · 19/09/2017 08:11

have you had any lozenges?

firstly, be kind to yourself get some good sleep and do not worry

secondly if the weight juked on so quickly it won't be real weight if you get me more like water etc

are you due your period?

make sure you drink a lot of water and go to bed early to prevent snacking

Degustibusnonestdisputandem1 · 19/09/2017 08:31

1morerep- I've got a lot further to go! Currently 95kgs, have 30 to lose Confused

macandcheesewithbacon · 19/09/2017 09:04

I had 1/2 a pack of throat sweet - strepsils- is that bad?

I'm so thick with all this, no clue. Feel v freaked out as I thought I was flung well. Could be water retention as I've barely moved in 4 days :(

strongasmeringue · 19/09/2017 15:59

What's done is done. Let it go. You're feeling crap and right now things are skewif. Dh has the day off and he's treated me to a naughty brunch, minstrels and crisps for later. For the first time ever I don't hate myself for having a naughty day. I figure I'll do an extra session on the bike, it's one day, emotionally today and tomorrow we're/are hard. It's fine.

Be nicer to yourself everyone!

1moreRep · 20/09/2017 07:48

i challenge everyone to do a bit of excersize today! i'm doing crossfit (swat)

strongasmeringue · 20/09/2017 08:27

I've done half an hour on the bike already and will do another hour. I'm nursing my DDog who was spayed yesterday and is very quiet and upset she's not allowed on the sofa, sharing hard texts with dh and going to my therapy later, so planning a kind to myself day.

strongasmeringue · 21/09/2017 08:04

Am I in class alone today?

I did two x thirty minutes and one 1 hour in the bike. To make up for not being able to walk my dog and the fact I had four squares of Lindt gold bar chocolate.

Will weigh in tomorrow but I'm not hopeful of any loss. But I'll be fine if not. I've got this even if I've got it on my own Sad

1moreRep · 21/09/2017 21:18

you are not alone! it's my day off excersize today- but i've kept in my caroline plan even thou it's cake day

Degustibusnonestdisputandem1 · 22/09/2017 08:21

Weigh in this morning, another 1.8kgs down (Which makes 4.6 in 3 weeks) - pretty pleased with that Smile

strongasmeringue · 22/09/2017 12:39

No weight loss this week so only list 2-3 lbs since I started but the positive is I'm not upset by it. I'm still doing loads in the bike and DDog was allowed a ten minute walk today. I'm doing loads around the house so being physical there.

Have also made chocolate shortbread, ginger biscuits and Coleman cookies HmmConfusedGrin.

PlaymobilPirate · 22/09/2017 13:00

First weigh in at Slimming World this morning - 5lb off which I'm happy with. I've found that prepping the night before has really helped. Each night I've:

*Put my milk allowance in its own bottle so I can make the next days coffees with it
*prepped a travel mug with coffee, milk and sugar so I can use my milk from my allowance at work

  • prepped overnight oats (which I've started eating in 2 goes - half before class and half at morning break so I'm not raiding the biscuits in the staffroom)
  • prepped salad for lunch

10 minutes tops and has made such a difference to my snacking.

CotswoldStrife · 22/09/2017 13:23

Sorry, I should check in every day but don't.

I forgot to weigh first thing this morning and doing it post-carb fest wasn't a good idea. Scales going the wrong way! Not planning a restrained weekend food-wise either so Monday is not going to be good Grin

Still no exercise though, I really need to fit it in to make a difference.

macncheesewithbacon · 22/09/2017 15:20

I am feeling a bit better and weight has returned to 'normal' and another 1lb lost. Must have been water weight from the illness.

Need to get back on track and stop eating cookies. Taking painkillers weakens my resolve :(

1moreRep · 22/09/2017 18:46

hi all i have lost 3lds this week so i'm
down to 70.8kg! did an evil work out today too
