Term begins tomorrow!

Im thinking I could shift some of the excess fat by dieting and exercising according to the school calendar?

So:
*Mon to Fri - diet. Im planning on low carbs plus no booze, soft drinks, no snacks etc.
*Weekends - relaxed but mindful
*School Holidays - relaxed but mindful
*Three PE sessions a week - this will be a challenge for me, thinking an attempt at running, plus walking to work at back (6k steps round trip) three days
*Monday morning assembly aka Weigh In, term time only

I will weigh in tomorrow am but reckon am about 13.5stone at 5 foot 2. Ideally Id like to loose 4 stone, in time for next Summers holiday as we will be abroad for the first time in 6 years.

Anyone wishing to share their menus etc, join in!

Im going to update this thread as much as possible so will probably be more of a diary if others dont fancy it.

So how does this group work never been to one before ☺️

strongasmeringue · 04/09/2017 12:55

Busy morning. Just having lunch. Took DDog for a 70 minute walk, then walked to the shop for tomorrow's tea which was another hour. Been cleaning for the last 1 3/4 hours. Lunch is roasted tomatoes with olive oil, mozzarella and black pepper. Breakfast was a boiled egg. Dinner is salad with Chinese chicken slices. Need to make sure I drink enough as feel a bit light headed.

M2R2, it works how you want. I'll be using it to motivate me and chat. My MH isn't great at the moment so I'm hoping it will improve as I keep busy and get lighter along with my house getting in better shape and I also hope to make friends Smile.

NapQueen · 04/09/2017 14:50

M2R2 I think it will just be a place people can log their weight loss, come for some support if they have a bad meal or day, and maybe share some tips.

I had two poachef eggs for breakfast, then totally forgot Id booked a table with a friend at a little italians. Had arrabiatta pasta Blush so carb city, but no creamy sauce or cheese etc, and a diet coke wont mention the potato skins.

Detention for me!

Dinner tonight is corgetti, grilled salmon, broccoli and salad.

Ive bought sweet potatoes and bagged salad and cucumber cottege cheese etc so can have a healthy lunch tomorrow.

Kids wanted noodle bar for lunch and mum was paying so I have definitely overindulged on lunch. No tea required though, I'm still stuffed!

NapQueen · 04/09/2017 15:30

Day one, what we like?

This is why we are all fat Grin

Oh i am terrible at dieting. I can't say no when i feel like eating something. I use to burn everything i eat thats why I didn't have it in me growing up to check what am eating. But now nothing fit me anymore and feel embarrassed as i look like 7 months pregnant. In my defence i have a 3 months old baby. I really hate how i look and don't seam to be able to change it.
I was thinking of switching white rice with brown dies that help? Sorry am clueless

juneybean · 04/09/2017 21:40

Ahhh I definitely need to be go to the school of fat. I'm about 16st7 and am TTC so any loss can be only help me.

I'll be calorie counting as my method. Slightly over today though but have planned good healthy things on my fitness pal for tomorrow!

strongasmeringue · 05/09/2017 07:09

I decided I'd weigh myself this morning after walking more than 14300 steps yesterday. I'm 1.2 lbs down so that's inspired me to keep going.

I had a boiled egg for breakfast, roasted tomatoes with mozzarella, olive oil and black pepper for lunch. A slice of mango and five chips when sorting out the kids and my dinner was lettuce, tomatoes, a small spoonful of potato salad, Chinese chicken and later a piece of cheese as I just needed something. Not too bad really.

Tonight we're having a Joe Wicks meal - salmon with bacon, courgette, spinach, tender stem broccoli, cherry tomatoes and pine nuts.

Good luck everyone today. You can do it.

PlaymobilPirate · 05/09/2017 07:17

I'm in - I've moved to a new department in the college which will involve LOADS more walking between sites (25 mins up hill and back 3 days a week)

Breakfast - banana
Lunch - brown pasta (first time I've tried it this week - surprisingly fine) with an egg, ham and loads of salad.
Tea - to be decided!

SquidgyTummy · 05/09/2017 08:15

Can I join with a detention for being late?

I've almost finished a masters and the past twelves month have been munching at my desk and letting exercise slip.

Determined to do something about it

Twoo · 05/09/2017 08:27

I'd like to join you!

I was size 4 as a young adult right up to my late 30's. Ill health and disability has seen my size rise to a 16 currently Shock Blush

Sagethyme · 05/09/2017 08:33

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 05/09/2017 08:52

I have a doctor's note for missing yesterday, I'm blaming a severe lack of sleep Grin Weighed myself this morning - 13st4lb.
So about 2stone to lose to be back to my smallest.

I'm doing the food shop today so I'll be forcing myself away from the snacks and towards the fruit and veg!

Macncheesewithbacon · 05/09/2017 10:20

I don't fit in any of my work clothes after the holidays 😳

Can I join in? I don't own any scales or know what to do really. Eat less and stop the wine for starters.....

NapQueen · 05/09/2017 10:33

Sage noooooo dont say that! Quickly googles patent office deets.

Breakfast today two eggs scrambled (no milk), two rasher of bacon with fat trimmed, and half an avocado.

I wasnt too keen on the corgetti for laat nights tea but there was something satisifying about having no carbs.

Lunch today will be salad and cottage cheese. Then a brisk walk down into the nearest town and back for dinner ingredients.

Back at work ft next monday so I need to start thinking of lunches.

I had yesterday marked as an INSET day on the calendar.....

I'm definitely in - 5ft4 and 15st 3.5 this morning. I need to lose weight for me, for health reasons and for my DC.

I have lost about 10lbs over the last few months but need to make more of an effort food wise now.

Degustibusnonestdisputandem1 · 05/09/2017 10:43

Can I join in? I'm ashamed to say that after a year of hell im the heaviest I've ever been at 5'9" and just over 15 stone 😳. ( 98.1kgs). I'm setting myself mini goals with the eventual aim of getting down to a fit 65kgs. I'm also highly likely to be going to Australia this Christmas so even more incentive

strongasmeringue · 05/09/2017 13:51

Free health tip. Cut yourself a piece of homemade blueberry and vanilla cake - with half the sugar in the recipe - take one bite, answer door, go to loo, come back and find DDog has finished it for you.

NapQueen · 05/09/2017 14:45

I attempted almond milk in my tea today. Vile. So I need to either learn to love it black or cut back to one cup a day.

Food shop today lots of veg and no carbs (for me anyway) so feeling good. Only sugar in two days has been a couple of squares of 80% dark chocolate so far so good.
Having breakfast at lunch is working well. Main issue is trying to force myself to eat more fat to keep full rather than carbs. I love bread!!! and cake!!! and biscuits!!!! Ah, i see why I am fat now.

Degustibusnonestdisputandem1 · 05/09/2017 19:55

Day one down, I'm doing 5 days of 800 cals then around 2000 on the weekend each day.

WetPaint4 · 05/09/2017 20:46

Lol love this. I'm already 'in' so many weight loss threads on MN I've lost count so I'd probably be crap on this too but I do like the idea (especially time off at Christmas!)

FinallyDecidedOnUserName · 05/09/2017 20:57

I'm in.

bigkidsdidit · 05/09/2017 21:04

I'm in. I weighed in yesteraay. I probably won't post often but I'll try my best!

Need to do some exercise this week. Work is manic and I have two small ones and school pick ups etc but I will do SOMETHING

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 05/09/2017 21:47

Today has not been good for dieting. We had v little in for breakfast so I had eggy bread which was ok and lunch was a sandwich, lentil crisps and a mini banana loaf so a bit carb heavy Blush
It all went to pot this evening though because DS is currently refusing to go to bed and I couldn't find a moment to have any dinner so ended up snacking and then eating dinner anyway!
However I have signed up to buggy fitness class next week to start getting back to fitness again so that should help!
