Term begins tomorrow!

Im thinking I could shift some of the excess fat by dieting and exercising according to the school calendar?

So:
*Mon to Fri - diet. Im planning on low carbs plus no booze, soft drinks, no snacks etc.
*Weekends - relaxed but mindful
*School Holidays - relaxed but mindful
*Three PE sessions a week - this will be a challenge for me, thinking an attempt at running, plus walking to work at back (6k steps round trip) three days
*Monday morning assembly aka Weigh In, term time only

I will weigh in tomorrow am but reckon am about 13.5stone at 5 foot 2. Ideally Id like to loose 4 stone, in time for next Summers holiday as we will be abroad for the first time in 6 years.

Anyone wishing to share their menus etc, join in!

Im going to update this thread as much as possible so will probably be more of a diary if others dont fancy it.

I'm in.

Started on Monday. Trying to drink more water as I know I don't drink enough. I'm doing low carb high protein diet. I'm walking laps of the school field with a colleague at lunch and walking myself with headphones on a night.
I would like to lose 5 st
Will weigh in weekly and post loss.
Looking forward to hearing all your weight loss journeys.
Let's do it!!

I got an empty gin bottle, and filled it with water for work, I know it won't taste of gin, but maybe it will help to drink more water.

Twoo · 06/09/2017 15:06

I came back for a second day of support. For me that's progress as I usually join a thread and never quite manage to visit the thread again.

I'm calorie counting and so far have managed to stay within my limits.

NapQueen · 06/09/2017 16:23

Welcome back!

I did Jamie Olivers sausage bake yesterday sans carb which I normally eat an entire french stick with. And tonight am trying a crustless meat feast pizza - lean beef mince, onions and chopped toms, topped with chicken breast slices and some mozarella.

Lunches have been ok the last few days - salad with cottage cheese and a light dressing. And still no booze. But it is only Wednesday!

Count me in! I lost 3.5stones before my Summer holiday. Have maintained but fallen into bad habits again. Need to get back into the swing

UAEMum · 06/09/2017 16:39

Today i had
10am skinny latte
12 noon banana
Then..... went to the hairdressers. She had mini sandwiches and pastries, i ate 2. Then had 3 biscuits! Luckily she chopped off loads of hair so that might counteract the weight gained
6pm 1 chicken fajita

strongasmeringue · 06/09/2017 17:15

I went shopping to a further away place so I could up my steps Grin. It worked as I'm at 11414 now. Emotionally, a really bad day but I didn't buy coke or chocolate while out [win] and I'm having sea bass with veg and a half portion of pasta for dinner.

Bin85 · 06/09/2017 17:21

Glad some friends have come.I was dropped off early last Friday so its been a bit lonely
trying the 8 week blood sugar course this term

FinallyDecidedOnUserName · 06/09/2017 19:05

Just ate chips 🤢

littlemisssweetness · 07/09/2017 06:42

I'm joining in! 109kg today and decided I definitely need to do something about it asap!

strongasmeringue · 07/09/2017 07:18

If I'd lost another 0.3 lbs I'd have lost 4 lbs since I started on Monday. I'm so happy and inspired to keep going.

I've not bought any crisps or chocolate and it is amazing how easy it is to not eat them if they are in the shop and not your kitchen.

I've been walking the dog for longer. She's very happy about that.

I've been doing lots of cleaning and tiding. Keeping busy is helping me physically and emotionally.

Come on guys, we've got this!!!!

NapQueen · 07/09/2017 07:46

Well done!! 4lbs in 4 days is amazing.

I was tempted to weigh today but maybe I will tomorrow. Drinking lots more water and salads for lunches.

Hello, I'd like to join your school please :)

I have 3 stone to lose. I've been eating low ish carb for two weeks now and I've lost 9lbs of it. I am doing 3 weights based workouts a week and trying to walk more.

strongasmeringue · 07/09/2017 08:10

I know it won't carry on at that rate but I'm still pleased. Another 2lbs off and I drop down to 12 something for first time in months.

Just done seven minutes on my new exercise bike to check it out and about to walk the dog once my infuriating kids let me the know the school bus has turned up.

Macncheesewithbacon · 07/09/2017 09:28

Checking in. Still not weighed myself but my jeans will fasten now. I'm being stupid though. Need advice. Last 3 days:

Breakfast - large bowl porridge made with 1/2 water and 1/2 semi skimmed milk. Blueberries and raspberries. Teaspoon sugar.
Lunch - 2 boiled eggs, 1 thick slice homemade bread with butter.
Tea- 3 chocolate caramels (I know, I know) BlushI'm not going to keep this up but was working till 9pm.

8 cups of tea with semi skimmed milk a day, 5 pints water/sugar free squash.

I think about food all the time, literally constantly daydreaming about toast. I work 10am-8pm and it's 9pm before I get home. Eating at work is hard - the environment is full of junk food Sad

divafever99 · 07/09/2017 09:34

I will join you! Started on Tuesday. I have been so bad over the summer, ice creams, picnics etc with dc. Really need to get this baby weight off (baby is now 2 Grin)

Degustibusnonestdisputandem1 · 08/09/2017 08:36

Goodness, weighed myself this morning (ultra accurate garmin scales) and I'm now 2.5kgs lighter! Mostly water weight I'm sure but it's a good start!

NapQueen · 08/09/2017 08:40

Well done! Im 2lbs down since Monday bit not too sure if thats a down or just a fluctuation.

Will weigh again Monday.

Everyone is doing so well.

I haven't had chocolate or crisps since Sunday. Completely unheard of and I'm especially pleased as I've had a tough couple of days and I've been in shops nearly every day. Yesterday I queued to buy my paper and looked at the chocolate and thought why would I buy any. Huge progress.

Just done almost half an hour on my bike. Have chicken and veg for dinner.

NapQueen · 08/09/2017 13:54

Bravo!!

Glad we can be a bit more relaxed at the weekend as we usually have a chinese. Need to think about what the best order would be. Could probably keep the carbs down by no rice or noodles. Will be sad to not have prawn toast though.

OP posts:
strongasmeringue · 08/09/2017 14:53

Smaller amount of prawn toast?

CotswoldStrife · 09/09/2017 16:57

Everyone seems to be doing well. I've had some good days and bad days this week and no exercise and too many cappuccinos but do need to make a more concerted effort.

If any of you are following 'proper' diet plans could you give me an idea of them, please? Because obviously my vague notions of 'healthy eating' are not actually working Grin

Do need to start the exercise though, it would really help and also stopping snacking

NapQueen · 09/09/2017 17:01

No proper diet for me. Itll end up being my downfall no doubt. Had berries and greek yoghurt for breakfast, and a piece of salmon with salad for lunch. Purely to ease the guilt of chinese takeaway and 3 glasses of wine this eve.

strongasmeringue · 09/09/2017 17:10

I was really upset this morning as I've gone from 1.8lbs to 3.3lbs but dh pointed out I've actually still lost a couple of pounds this week. I've done two lots on the bike but the seat is bloody uncomfortable so I've asked for demanded a new comfortable seat. We've got Joe Wicks meatballs, pasta and spinach for dinner, I've done loads of gardening and walked the dog but dh said we were having a weekly treat so I acquiesced but told him to go to M&S and look at a savoury and sweet treat and buy the one with the least calories/sugar.

Lou898 · 10/09/2017 02:37

Had a good week food wise. A colleague and I have been walking several times round the school field after lunch which I've enjoyed and feel has done me good. We have vowed to keep this up and force/ encourage one another to keep at it. So feeling positive about the weekly weigh in on Monday morning
