My plan to lose weight over the summer failed spectacularly.

I actually managed to put on half a stone Blush

So starting today I am getting back on track .

I will get to the gym/out for a jog at least 3 times a week.

I will stop eating so much .

I will have at least 2 dry days a week.

I am in the gym car park now and want to be accountable so here goes.

Wish me luck and please come and join me.

I have that EXACT same problem, Rhubarb.

What are the chances?!

That's why I like SW as I can eat like Henry VIII not worry about being hungry or police portion sizes. I know that is an issue in itself, but for now, one day at a time.

Have got through my first day and stayed on track, food wise. Not as many steps as I would like, but that's cool some days.

Hope everyone else is ticking along ok.

Lovelymonkeyninetynine · 04/09/2017 21:32

I am joining! Major family stress and having the kids all summer has seen me gain a shocking amount. But like shark I'm a serial yo yo dieter and my priority is to lose weight and keep it off.
I've realised I'm totally an emotional eater. So am trying to stick to sensible ideas from all the 5 thousand diets I've ever been on, mainly focusing on protein and veg, sticking to mealtimes and stop drinking so much wine!!! Good luck everyone. We can do it!

BitchyInnerMonologue · 05/09/2017 07:15

Day two of the Shred done. Didn't want to get out of bed when my alarm went off at stupid o'clock, but rationalised that it was only 45 mins, and I wouldn't getting back to sleep anyway.

Feel quite achey now; definitely need to find something less cardio based so doesn't kill my knees but that still lasts only half an hour.

Any ideas?

JustTheWayYouAre · 05/09/2017 07:27

I'm in. I had planned to lose 7lb over the summer, but without my usual routine I mananaged to gain 7lb. So aiming for a stone by Christmas.

I'm just finding it so hard to shift since hitting 40/perimeno. Foods is not too bad, but wine is so tempting when I'm tired, and if I haven't eaten much during the day I think I crave the sugar rush as well.

So yesterday I had raspberries and strawberries, mullerlight and a small pack of sushi. Dinner was a veggie cottage pie. Calories 746. I tend to find it easier at the start of the week so bank some calories for the week end - aiming for 8400 over 7 days.

Current weight 10 s 13oz.

Howlongtillbedtime · 05/09/2017 07:40

Morning all . New job today so hoping I will be kept busy and won't have time for snacking .....

A good day yesterday and no reason why today won't be the same.

Good luck everyone!

bitchy definitely no more trouble zones. The warm up has a little bit of cardio but no leaping around in the rest of it, and you can tailor the length of the work out. I sometimes do all 7 circuits, but more often 3 or 4, depending on how much time I have.

I've been cooking back to school cakes for my dc (one back yesterday and one today, so they have decided they need 2 separate cakes) and NOT sampling. Might have to take some cake into work later this week though, we'll never get through it all Grin

inappropriatecrush · 05/09/2017 08:28

I'd like to join you please!
I had great ideas about using the summer to lose weight, but it didn't happen.
After having kids I went up to almost 17 stone 😱 I have managed over the last few years to lose 5 stone, but still have a couple left to lose.
I weighed in this morning at 11stone 10. I would love to shift a stone at least by Christmas.

maamalady · 05/09/2017 10:48

Me too waves

My second (and youngest) is now 17 months, I have no excuse! I haven't dared weigh myself recently, but know I have several stone to lose. I'll aim for a couple to begin with, and then start again. Aiming for five stone in one go is probably too much to ask.

Does anyone have any ideas for toddler-friendly dinners that will help with weight loss?

I don't have much opportunity to exercise, but will try and do more. I was getting up early to do 30 day shred in January, but my knees couldn't take it, very annoying!

Trenzalor · 05/09/2017 10:55

Hello! Baby is seven weeks tomorrow and I'm reining in the 'tired so eating crap' as my weight is going up. I'm on day two of no sugar and when I have time and a little energy will be restarting the thirty day shred and... eventually... running again.

BitchyInnerMonologue · 05/09/2017 13:49

Thanks beela, I might look at that if I don't have it already. I know there's a boxset somewhere, but I usually use the Shred.

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 05/09/2017 20:13

Just checking in, weigh day for me tomorrow and I'm feeling positive, really hoping for a loss! This will be my 4th weigh in and would feel really good to have lost at least 1.5lbs as that would take me to 7lbs in 4 weeks

KeiraTwiceKnightley · 05/09/2017 21:14

So although I've been back on it properly today and yesterday, I think I've actually gained weight! This often happens tbf, I'm not worried. I know if I stick to it I'll be down a few lbs this time next week.

ThomasinaCoverly · 05/09/2017 21:17

Checking in, I've stuck to the diet so far (though only 2 days in!) and did JM yoga tonight. No bike yet as the weather's been awful here, and I need to do bike-incompatible things tomorrow and Thursday, so I hope I'll be able to bike on Friday. I'll weigh myself Saturday morning and see how things are going...

Howlongtillbedtime · 06/09/2017 08:21

Morning all , I had a sneaky weigh this morning and I am a pound down so at leasr things are moving in the right direction for a change.

Good luck everyone , just have to keep on keeping on !

Just off to join the gym (groan!).

JustTheWayYouAre · 06/09/2017 09:41

Morning OP and All, I can report another successful day yesterday - 770 calories so have banked a few more for later this week. No booze, early night but slept really badly.

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 06/09/2017 13:04

2lb off this week! So pleased. Brings me to 7.5lbs in the past 4 weeks. Really doing it this time, fed up of being overweight

SaDo12 · 06/09/2017 17:38

3lb off this week!! Really happy and it's given me the motivation to carry on 😀😀

KeiraTwiceKnightley · 06/09/2017 20:54

Joined the gym and ran for 30 mins on the treadmill this morning. It's a while since I last did any running so it was slow but I didn't walk much. Also did 20 mins of Pilates at home. Food today has been spot on. Feeling like I'm in the zone now.

Pinkvici22 · 06/09/2017 20:56

Oops I had some cake today. Other than that, having a good week! Plenty of water, 10K + steps per day and very few carbs.

Will weigh Friday or Saturday.

KeiraTwiceKnightley · 07/09/2017 06:48

Bit sore from yesterday but nothin like a bad as I feared. Power Pilates class tonight will sort that out. And the weight loss has started at last - one lb down, hoping for at least 2 by Saturday.

How's everyone else doing?

Howlongtillbedtime · 07/09/2017 06:54

Morning all , everyone is doing a grand job . Well done on all the losses.

I really should get to the gym today . Am feeling tired so could do with a ick if anyone has any spare Grin

Started my new job and all the thinking is wearing me out. I think the job is fan but I hate not knowing how everything works and what all the routines are.

Fingers crossed for a kick arse day for everyone

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 07/09/2017 06:59

Me me. IM not doing too badly but am really not in the zone. Please someone hand me some motivation while I lie about

BitchyInnerMonologue · 07/09/2017 07:03

Yesterday wasn't a great day food wise and I didn't Shred because I woke and was so sore - so à day off for the muscles!

Started with lunch (soup & fruit) due to intermittent fasting. Then got home and didn't want dinner. Had a packet of crisps and about a third of a share bag of Doritos and went to bed. Timing wise I think this is definitely hormonal though so I'm not getting too stressed.

Today, I've Shred-ed, cleaned the kitchen and am about to chivy DS to get ready for school. Going to grab some cereal to counteract the lack of food last night.

Howlongtillbedtime · 07/09/2017 07:04

My only motivation is I keep thinking of myself getting ready to go out for christmas drinks with people and actually having a choice of what to wear and not looking like a flump .

And you know ........all the health stuff as well .........
