My plan to lose weight over the summer failed spectacularly.

I actually managed to put on half a stone Blush

So starting today I am getting back on track .

I will get to the gym/out for a jog at least 3 times a week.

I will stop eating so much .

I will have at least 2 dry days a week.

I am in the gym car park now and want to be accountable so here goes.

Wish me luck and please come and join me.

Hi! I would love to join you ladies. I had my third child in February, was determined to get slim for summer but tbh think it was to much of an ask. I'd just had a baby and also have two other little ones so ate a lot of random stuff lol. I've lost some of the weight but pretty much maintained through June and July. Started properly eating healthy just over three weeks ago, lost 1lb, 3.5lb, 1lb and its weigh day on Wednesday. I've got 2 stone to lose to be at a weight I'll feel OK at, 3 stone to be where I really want to be!

Petalflowers · 03/09/2017 18:15

This thread has helped m already. Had planned jacket potato this evening with ov n-cooked chicken and veg. However, I'm now not having the potatoe and having heaps of veg instead.

I've also made a ratatouille after a neighbour gave me some courgettes. Had to buy some aubergine. Haven't made it in years. Hope,it tastes alright. (Also hope, the frying of the veg doesn't count! - I didn't use much fat)

Howlongtillbedtime · 03/09/2017 19:18

Sounds very healthy petal I always like the idea of ratatouille but struggle to cook a good one. Would love the recipe .

I just google it, and approximated my quantities, especially as one of the home grown courgettes my neighbour gave me turnef out to be a home grown cucumber.

Good morning lovelies 😀

First day back at work after 2 weeks off (I was so happy to see 5:30, clearly)

10 mins of yoga type stretching, some push ups and a cup of chai tea with coconut oil for breakfast and I'm just about ready to drag my arse to the shower.

Have a great day everyone.

SharkSkinThing · 04/09/2017 06:29

Urgh, just done the Monday morning weigh of shame.

15.5. 😵 No wonder I feel so sluggish. But this is the last time I will ever be the weight.

All food is SW friendly, and includes heaps of fruit and veggies.

Exercise is 12,000 steps a day, two swims a week and one yoga (all of which I do anyway, my issue is too much food!).

Good luck all, your stories are all so motivational.

yellowlillie · 04/09/2017 06:55

Morning, would you mind if I joined you?

Basically I am fat because I am a greedy pig with no self control. I am addicted to sweet food and once I start eating I cannot stop. I have roughly two stone to lose. Not sure of my exact weight but I'm usually just under the eleven stone mark.

A big difference can be made between now and Christmas. This is a bad time of year for me as all the Christmas chocolates and goodies are landing on the supermarket shelves and every year I buy the tins of quality street etc and have to keep replacing them time and time again because I sit and eat them. I'm going to try really hard as I hate looking at myself and buying clothes. It's depressing.

I'm just off for a shower so I will weigh myself and report back with my starting weight.

KeiraTwiceKnightley · 04/09/2017 06:57

Had a final (unplanned) blowout last night. Friends came round with lots of
Wine and we ordered a curry. Felt absolutely sick at bedtime so def in a place where eating less is desirable for a few weeks.

Good luck everyone.

BitchyInnerMonologue · 04/09/2017 07:03

Morning - may I join you?

Back to work today so I'm checking in (although I'll probably forget to post on this thread!) with no clue about my weight - I tend to get obsessive about weighing so going for clothing sizes.

Currently a size 16 on my bottom half with thunder thighs. Aiming for a size 14 by my birthday in 55 days and hopefully being able to get back into my warm dresses and knee boots for the colder weather.

Have done an adapted first day of 30 day shred this morning (omitted cardio as it buggers my knees) and aiming to grab an hour at the gym tonight for the cardio element.

Intermittent fasting means I'm not due to eat until lunchtime, so will see how that goes.

DeliciouslyHella · 04/09/2017 07:07

Count me in please. DD2 is 8 weeks old and I'm just mucking around in my weight loss attempts!

ClashCityRocker · 04/09/2017 07:17

Morning all.

Today's menu: small portion of leftover spag Bol for lunch.
Tea is chicken and vegetable kebabs with salad.

No exercise as I pulled my back on Thursday so just some gentle walking today - hopefully will be able to walk further tomorrow and be back at he gym by the weekend.

Seth · 04/09/2017 07:17

This is great. I had no idea there were so many others who would have decided to start today (after the same failed intentions as me in time for summer!) . I have put on around 2 stone over the last 18 months and just feel constantly miserable about how it Makes me look and feel ( and have a whole wardrobe of clothes I can't fit into but refuse to buy any more so down to about 3 baggy 'outfits!) .

Have lost 7lb before summer using MFP and found that worked. Plus 2 litres of water min, cutting down on white wine and the shred ( though have only managed this up to day ten- but was def starting to see results) ..

Am going to stay on here with you lovely ladies and hopefully we can all get on with quietly losing now the pressure of summer is over Smile

Howlongtillbedtime · 04/09/2017 07:21

Morning all .

It looks like everyone is off to a grand start. I don't go back to work until tomorrow so I am going to get my fat arse to the gym and I am going to do some meal planning and shopping which will help me stay on track.

BIM you are a braver woman than me doing shred . I did one day months ago and was in pain for two days . its a killer !

Good luck everyone . I am not following a plan , just going to use mfp and calorie count and get my 10000 steps in , and also drink my 2 litres water.

May I join? I have about half a stone to lose and some of my favourite clothes don't fit properly: I'm doing 16:8 fasting and trying to up my exercise - for various reasons I totally stopped cycling to work over the summer, so I need to pick it up again when I go back to work tomorrow.

If I can drag myself out of bed in the mornings in time I'm also going to go back to Jillian Michaels: I was JM-ing religiously every morning before work till the spring, and then somehow lost my mojo.

beela · 04/09/2017 07:27

BIM try no more trouble zones, it's another Jillian Michaels one, it's like shred but there is much less cardio.

Seth · 04/09/2017 07:36

Great . Am feeling positive about this. Good luck everyone. Just weighed myself. 10st9.5.

2 questions. How often to people weigh themselves? Also for those of you doing shred or similar.. have you found your actual weight loss is less due to muscle being built and how do you cope with the Confused of losing weight less quickly as a result (even though you look better) ?

Have a great day ladies.

Oogle · 04/09/2017 08:03

I'll join, I have about half a stone to lose but I'm at the gym 3 times a week doing weights so expecting not to see much loss on the scales, instead I'm going by clothes and measurements. Ideally I have 3 inches to lose off hips and waist. My eating has gone to pot recently so I'm back on it today.

B - granola (60g) with semi-skimmed milk
L - not sure yet, probably a tuna & sweetcorn wrap
D - sausage casserole with rice

No snacks, no alcohol. Can't go to the gym today as home with toddler, and can't go tomorrow morning as usual due to MOT. Personal trainer booked for weds morning instead. Aiming for 10000 steps today.

yellowlillie · 04/09/2017 08:05

I have weighed myself and I am 10'9. I thought that I was more like 11 stone but I've had tonsillitis the last few days so I haven't been eating very much. Every cloud.

So is Monday going to be our weigh day then?

Good luck everyone.

imjessie · 04/09/2017 10:00

I'm doing weight watchers but haven't really done it over the summer . I go back to weigh in on Thursday but I'm happy to weigh with everyone else too. I need to lose a stone and a half 😬

ladystarkers · 04/09/2017 10:06

I failed too. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Fed up if the whole dieting thing but need to loose weight. Plan to join gym again when ds1 in ft school in a few weeks, do pilates, only drink at weekends and make healthy choices through week.

fishonabicycle · 04/09/2017 10:40

Seth - building muscle ) particularly for women) is not easy! Doing a few bits of cardio and some small weights is not going to build much muscle quickly enough to have an impact on weight loss!

Seth · 04/09/2017 12:33

Ah ok thanks Fish !

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 04/09/2017 20:19

@seth, I weigh once a week on a Wednesday. I'm not following any set plan but am being a lot more mindful about what I eat. Its really working for me right now and I'm hopeful I'll stick at this. I'm 100% on plan every day but Saturday, I allow a treat day Saturday and it helps keep me on track as I don't feel deprived. I've completely cut out snacking other than fruit and keep at 400 cals max for breakfast, 400-500 for dinner and 600 for tea

randomer · 04/09/2017 20:23

Can't cope with brain dead classes. Unfortunately

RhubardGin · 04/09/2017 20:24

Me too!

I planned to lose 1.5 stone over Summer and well.....I've not Blush

I really need to lose around 2 stone to feel comfy but it's so hard to find the motivation and I LOVE food, anyone else have this problem?
