3 stone in 3 months?

chalkyc2 · 11/11/2022 11:53

I find myself needing to do this (well - the first 3 stone is merely the tip of the iceberg but anyway). I've been rubbish and following weight loss success then gall bladder surgery I appear to have put on around 2 stone in 6 months. Which is shocking and disgusting but anyway, here I am.

Previous success was with the fast 800. It is brutal - but works. With exercise. Im trying to get myself in the mindset!

Anyone fancy joining me and coming along for the ride? Ultimately I need to lose 40kg (6 stone ish). Im so unhappy about my size it consumes every waking thought - but not so much it seems that it stops me eating chocolate every evening....

chalkyc well done! That’s good work.

I weighed myself and I am shocked at the news - starting weight 13 st 4

A decade ago I was 13st 9 and I managed to get down to about 8 1/2 st I know I can do it but it’s just worse than I thought. I’d expected.

Anyway the good news is that I am into this. I’ll have my breakfast now and be ready for this.

Witchymcwitch · 18/11/2022 07:46

@chalkyc2 Wow! That’s amazing we’ll done!

Right, my week 1 weigh in.
-3lb

I must admit I’m a little disappointed it’s not more as I’ve been so good. I lost it all overnight after my fasting day. So hope it doesn’t just creep back on!

endlesscraziness · 18/11/2022 07:53

You'd be much better looking at a sustainable fat loss than a fast fix. All you'll do is be miserable and end up in an over restrict binge cycle. Fast 800 obviously didn't work as you're now back on it. Weight loss / diet success is maintaining the weight loss for a year after you've lost it. There's no fast fix. Consistency and work is what it takes. Average 1800 cals a day over a week, (no crazy lows, max 1600 cals lowest), 10k steps, 100g protein min per day, real food and get strength training for health 3x a week.

By attempting a fast fix you're setting yourself up to fail. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Readytostartagain · 18/11/2022 08:11

1lb down for me which is ok as I didn’t have a very good week and I’m going for a steady loss. Well done @chalkyc2 that’s an amazing loss

chalkyc2 · 18/11/2022 11:24

Well done witchy and ready - we can do this!

Well done! I’m down a grand total of - wait for it - 0.4kg. So I think I can say I’m still on that plateau…. I’ve torn the ligaments in my ankle though, so I can’t walk very far at the moment (and my dog has been in kennels) so that doesn’t help. Hey ho. Onwards and downwards….

Weightlossj · 18/11/2022 21:53

Hey les mills have a free trial on for a month, I thought that's worth mentioning.

Whiterose23 · 19/11/2022 16:18

Well done on the loses, I’m down 2lbs. I was hoping for slightly more but onwards to next week.

FatGirlSwim · 21/11/2022 13:41

Well done all! I lost 3lb and really wanted it to be more but a loss is a loss. I am pleased with the amount of exercise I managed to do and feel good for that. Resolve is flagging a little and just had some toast…

Witchymcwitch · 21/11/2022 18:32

Well done..
The only way it can happen is a pound at a time, they’ll all add up if we keep going!

Sevensins · 21/11/2022 18:40

Hi can I join please 🙏
Also have 6 Stone to loose, possibly more.
I want to have done it by this time next year so I know that's a good goal time wise.
We can do this ladies xxx

Witchymcwitch · 21/11/2022 21:48

@Sevensins Hi & welcome, we’re reporting our loses each Friday.
Do you have a plan in mind?

CalculatingSuccess · 23/11/2022 18:06

How is everyone? I weighed myself yesterday as my scales arrived and was mortified at my starting weight (15 stones, I was 10 2 years ago!!) . Feeling a bit deflated today but haven’t waivered. Hoping this gets easier, the days feel so long!!

Witchymcwitch · 23/11/2022 18:26

I’m the same! Awful isn’t it. I feel like I don’t want to go out and meet up with people as they’ll be shocked at how fat I’ve become.
i really want a stone off by Christmas.

stealthninjamum · 23/11/2022 20:05

I’m really struggling here, people keep sabotaging me! I haven’t told dc I’m on a diet because they’re girls and I’m always worried about them getting eating disorders when they’re both beautiful and slim. So dp came over with a big pizza and wine to watch the World Cup and dd1 bought me a bar of my favourite chocolate. I have told dp not to do it again and I intended to make the chocolate last a few days but scoffed it down. There’s something about once you’ve had one bit of crap your body then craves more sugary / carby crap so I’ve had lots of bread.

Anyway I’m hoping my two bad days don’t make a difference as I’ll have had five good days by the time I weigh myself again.

I’ve got two party invitations this year and I don’t want to go because I have no nice clothes. One is 1st and one is 17th so hopefully by 17th I’ll have lost half a stone.

petalsandstars · 23/11/2022 21:07

Can I join please, my trousers are so tight and I don’t know if I fit into my party dresses anymore and I’m too anxious to even try them on. 4 weeks to Christmas will be a start but I have a good 3-4 stone that needs to go!

CalculatingSuccess · 23/11/2022 22:25

I’m so sorry you guys are finding it tough too @Witchymcwitch and @stealthninjamum . It is so hard to stay away from the foods everyone else is eating and not cave. I really struggle to say no to people so really find it hard to say no when food is offered, but thankfully it is just me and the 5 year old at home, so I can control that well. I’m going out for dinner next week though and dreading it already.

I went to Sainsbury’s tonight to get my dd’s food for the next week and was fine, but bought myself a LOT of different teas. She goes to her Dad’s on a Wednesday night and I normally buy a curry or pizza from the frozen section but resisted. I’ve decided that the more nice drinks I have the less I crave food as I have something to replace the constant snacking with (if that makes any sense at all!) and the more choice I have the more exciting that makes it. Would still love to tuck into a pepperoni pizza right now though!!

elephantonacid · 23/11/2022 22:26

I need to lose two stone so joining this thread. I'm completely addicted to sugar I need to cut it out...

CalculatingSuccess · 23/11/2022 22:29

@petalsandstars, I cannot wait to get into my dresses again, but am aware that it won’t be this year. Maybe next though!! I cannot bear another summer with constant thigh chafe as my legs got so sore this year, so that is something to keep me on track!! I hope the (cheap) dresses I bought to get me through this summer will work as interim size clothes as I start to lose some weight. I have put on 5 stones in 18 months, it’s a massive shock and wake up call!! It is down to a change in medication, but shocking none the less!!

stealthninjamum · 24/11/2022 07:52

I have just done a weigh in and I’m about a lb down so my two carb heavy days haven’t been two detrimental. I had hoped to have a good loss in the first week as I know once I settle into it I’ll probably only lose 1lb a week. I imagine I’ll be near my target weight next Christmas. Which is frustrating but better than staying in my current weight gain path where I might gradually put on a stone instead.

Carrotcakeplease · 24/11/2022 07:53

OK - I’m putting this on the threads I’m on. I won’t be able to start till Saturday but yeah need to do this … Will RTFT now! Smile

CalculatingSuccess · 24/11/2022 11:49

@stealthninjamum , any loss is a loss, you have done brilliantly!! My main focus up to Christmas is the same as yours I think, seeing a steady losing rather than gaining pattern (as I know I will gain heavily otherwise!!). Congratulations! Xx

CalculatingSuccess · 24/11/2022 11:50

Hi @Carrotcakeplease , see you on Saturday!! Xx

stealthninjamum · 24/11/2022 13:54

Thanks calculatingsuccess I’m being too hard on myself, every pound is good. My official weigh in is tomorrow so we’ll see what that brings. I have a skirt that the button doesn’t quite do up. I will be wearing it every Friday to see if it feels looser with an aim for it to fit with a vest underneath it on New Year’s Eve. It is wearing nice clothes that will motivate me to lose weight.

CalculatingSuccess · 24/11/2022 14:07

The skirt is a fantastic way to measure how you are getting on (literally!) as you can have no movement on the scales whatsoever but actually have lost inches. I have a pair of jeans that I bought 6 months ago thinking that they would fit, and they never did (as they were not elasticated!!). They are my First Step jeans, as once I fit into them I know I’m definitely losing. I am currently living in my biggest pair of jeans I have ever owned, and am using them as a barometer for now; once they start feeling loose I can pay myself on the back! Xx
