Yes I am veggie! But a pretty rubbish one, I have fish about twice a month and never check for gelatine etc. in sweets! But I am so fussy with other stuff, no carbs, no mushrooms, no actual meat blah blah that I have to make allowances or other people would kill me!

I love a good veggie curry, the river cottage dhal recipe is a nice base and then you can add in any other veg you have, I swap the spuds for broccoli in this one.

ponygirlcurtis · 12/07/2017 09:50

Ooo thanks Hairspray, both look lovely!

Softpebbles · 12/07/2017 11:44

That's a hard target Hairspray. - 7lbs in two and a bit weeks to 3rd August! Especially as you are close to goal.

So this morning scales flashed 10.13. Settled on 11 again so I'm ok with that. I am due on - just in time for my holiday on Monday - yay 😖

SoapyChoc · 12/07/2017 11:46

Some really fab weight losses here.
Those peppers sound lush hairspray thanks.

I'm sat at work at the moment trying not to think about food. Having a hungry day today. 4.8lb more to lose by 2 weeks tomorrow and could probably do with an extra bit for clothes weight/variances in scales between mine and hospital.
Any tips for boosting my loss this week please?

HairsprayBabe · 12/07/2017 11:59

It is three weeks today! Well technically we go on the 4th, but I have the 3rd off work too, to organise our life a bit!

lastqueenofscotland · 12/07/2017 12:44

Hairspray where are you off to?!
I am not going till October Angry

HairsprayBabe · 12/07/2017 13:20

Weymouth, Costa del Dorset!

Can't wait, I love the seaside!

TVHubbyClaire · 12/07/2017 13:42

Weighed in at 12st 8 1/4 today. A whole 1/4 lb down from yesterday, what the hell is a 1/4lb??

I guess its not an increase which is good. I am 2 1/4 Lindas away from best ever (in terms of recent years) but oh my its achingly slow and the weekend always arrives before I get there

Two nights without dessert but holidays are on the horizon so must keep that going and go for walk tonight too.

Food today so far has been nectarine and 3 strawberries, chicken and avacoado salad, yogurt and I'm working my way through my 120 cal choc rice cake snack bag. There are cakes and biscuits all around office, I am trying dam hard to avoid them but will cave at some point I'm sureBlush

HairsprayBabe · 12/07/2017 13:48

had a rainbow salad with two mini cheese sticks and a mug of broth for lunch,

180 cals, feeling v. vertous indeed!

DP is cooking tonight and we are having Greens 'n' Beans with some feta crumbled over the top, very easy as he is only just begun to dip his toe into the world of cooking!

HairsprayBabe · 12/07/2017 13:49

*virtuous even....

TVHubbyClaire · 12/07/2017 13:51

hairspray virtuous indeed , nicely doneSmile

MacaroonMama · 12/07/2017 13:53

Everyone is doing so well! All those Lindas lost! Squiffy I hate it when the wagon keeps rolling but you are just sitting in the dust watching it roll away. I have been like this recently and it is an awful feeling. Is there anything positive and kind you can do for yourself?

I am not going to weigh myself until August 1st and think I may stick with monthly weigh-ins as my weight can fluctuate so much I find it dispiriting. (Not an excuse honestly, I have been sticking to my plan and I feel much better for it).

We go on hols August 19th but only Suffolk so little need for a swimsuit Grin I would like to feel slimmer then, as I know those National Trust cream teas have my name all over them!

I have bookmarked the 'eat like a normal person' to look at later - I agree with it so much in principle, but I feel my weight is affecting my health, and I also know that I have real carbs/sugar addiction issues (I feel such a twat writing that but my behaviour genuinely becomes that of an addict sometimes) - so I think
cutting way back on those is good for me. Once I am lighter and healthier, I may try to reintroduce some things. I would love to be like my mom who has never dieted in her life, who is a happy size 10/12, who eats what she likes, when she is hungry and crucially can stop when she is full Maybe one day!

lastqueenofscotland · 12/07/2017 16:30

I imagine I will have put all the recent loss back on after the cake I've just had. Angry

TVHubbyClaire · 12/07/2017 17:03

I succumbed and had one caramel bite thing, 48 cal, i'm fighting the urge to have anymore.....

lastqueenofscotland · 12/07/2017 17:17

Could be worse TV could have dived headfirst into my colleagues dry run of her sisters wedding cake she's making...
Over an hour on and I still feel a bit sick Sad

ponygirlcurtis · 12/07/2017 18:40

Well done on only having a tiny bite TV, it's not succumbing it's showing restraint in the face of a lot of temptations.

Hairspray that is a good day so far indeed. I have just started having broth (ie oxo cube in boiling water?), I am liking it.

last, I often now feel unwell if I have something like that too. Don't beat yourself up, it's done now, just remember the sicky feeling though. Envy I had a can of diet coke earlier and it's given me a headache, couldn't even finish it. this from the person who used to have 2/3 a day

Macaroon NT cream teas sound amazing - whereabouts are you going? I used to live in Suffolk and East Anglia, lovely part of the country. I am still reading the website, it's making lots of sense. I actually went low carb/high fat as a permanent lifestyle change, three years ago now, partly in an attempt to help combat emotional eating and my inability to stop two full-size pizzas in one sitting weren't unusual Blush. It really helped, and reset my brain re my eating. It's not for everyone I know but I found it really easy (although it needs forward planning).

MacaroonMama · 12/07/2017 20:14

Ponygirl we're going to Woodbridge, third year to the same house! Kids and DH love it, as do my parents who come too. Oh the scones with cream and jam! 😍 Yes I think I have to make LCHF a part of my life for ever too, and allow myself the occasional cake - but occasional as in a few times a year! My body responds so well to it. That's great to hear you've been doing it for three years, wow! Inspiring! Do you feel happier with how you eat now?

MacaroonMama · 12/07/2017 20:16

lastQueen home made cakes are almost impossible to refuse! KOKO and don't be unkind to yourself.

TV one caramel bite? ONE? I stand in awe!

lastqueenofscotland · 12/07/2017 21:24

Macaroon they are!!!

Going home this weekend as well so must resist my feeder mothers cheese collection

ponygirlcurtis · 12/07/2017 22:48

Macaroon - oh absolutely I feel better. Even without the weight loss benefits (it's been a v v slow downwards trend over the 3 years, but downwards it has been). I don't get that feeling of being so uncomfortably full like I might explode after a big meal, and I can happily leave some if I feel I am full. I do still occasionally succumb, and times of stress see my willpower to resist the constant staffroom cakes and biscuits go out the window, but that means I do see how my body reacts after excess carbs and sugar, and it almost always makes me feel unwell/bloated/hyper (although that alone doesn't make me stop, it's a mindset thing for me).

poorpaws · 12/07/2017 22:49

Weight watchers tonight and I gained half a pound. So near yet so far from target. I will keep eating chocolate and I never learn.

Hope everyone is keeping on, I am in absolute awe of some of you. Nando's tomorrow won't help my plight.

lastqueenofscotland · 13/07/2017 07:44

141 again this morning...
bloody cake Angry

ponygirlcurtis · 13/07/2017 08:55

poorpaws someone on the thread (Hairspray I think?) used to work for Nando's so might be able to steer you towards the choices with least calories.

Ah shame last. I am back up a pound (but still down 1 since Monday) but I am hoping it's water retention and muscle repair after yesterday. I am starting to feel it today!

QuimReaper · 13/07/2017 12:28

Hello all!

I had a lovely lunch out with my Grandad and cousin yesterday. However, I finally managed to jump on a working BMI machine before getting on the train and I'm even heavier than I was when I got back from America Confused Sad I'm not sure how it's happened as I managed to lose a kilo of the holiday weight in the couple of weeks after getting back, and although I haven't had a really "golden" week (as in four good days) I have had some pretty damn good ones (three days). It's a bit disheartening as I had come to accept that 5:2ing and Fast Days are going to be a fact of life for me, and I'd hoped that once I hit target I could trundle along maintaining with fast days offsetting indulgent days; but it seems I'll pile it on if I'm not absolutely strict with myself the majority of the time. Other people can seem to lose on the 5:2 and even drop down to 6:1 to maintain, seems I need to stick to 4:3 (or my patented 2:2:3) to maintain!

Harumph Sad

TVHubbyClaire · 13/07/2017 13:36

Thank you everyone for your positive encouragement....I must admit i did feel rather pleased (almost virtuous) as I typed the post Blush

No weight change today , badminton tonight, then pub, then late dinner. Tomorrow morning may not be so good....Hmm

paws i follow hairspray's advice for Nandos eating and have endured no morning after scales dramas.

Olives to start ( i don't usually bother to be honest)
Chicken pitta with corn (with maybe a couple of stolen peri peri fries from DW and DSSmile)
Diet coke

Hairspray told me to go for pitta as the wrap has more calories ( i think chilli jam is the enemy there.....)
