Thanks all for keeping me chirpy and all your good wishes .... what a fab lot you are
The rash is very faint now so I don't know what that means now. Perhaps I'll wake up with a jelly belly full of blisters ???

Suzi2 - what was your situation ?
Did you get a rash & it stayed/ disappeared ? How soon did you get the lovely blisters ?
How did it make you feel ?
How long did it last ?
Any tips ?

I hope you weren't very ill with it, from what people tell me you can get very poorly.
I managed to get to the docs quick and get the antiviral tablets so maybe they have kicked in already - I hope !
I want to go to the Royal Windsor Horse Show on Friday

How is the weight loss going for everyone ?

suzi2 · 09/05/2007 21:49

First time I got it on my inner arm. Saw docs within a day or two and got the antiviral tablets as they were worried about the positioning and where other patches might occur. Rash didn't get any worse and I reckon it was mostly clear within a week. It was painful and I was a bit fluish but I still managed to go to work etc.

Second time it appeared on my lower back. Again went to the docs and was offered the antivirals. only I was bf DS so wasn't sure about taking them. Decided to give it 36 hours (as suggested by the doc) and then go fetch the prescription if it was worsening. Then we got snowed in for 3 days so that made my decision for me lol. The rash came and went for months. In fact, it's possibly still there a year later under my eczema lol. I felt exhausted and fluish and run down. But then DS was only 7 months, slept badly, fed a lot and then I fell pg with DD when he was 9 months so it could have all been that.

Definately take the antivirals. I'm sure they nipped it in the bud for me first time.

Weight loss... havinga really bad day. A bad few days actually. It seems that when I'm more tired with DDs bad nights I'm cmfort eating.

arfur · 10/05/2007 10:19

Ah seems like Im not the only one having a bad few days. Have been eating rubbish for two days but have been making PMT excuses. Will listen to Paul later and try and get back on track. Good luck everyone and hope you and your DKs feel better soon Tillyboo. Sending you all positive vibes (altho not sure I have many to spare)

suzi2 · 11/05/2007 22:13

Official weigh day today... about 7lbs in the first 2 weeks! I think I did about 5lbs week one and 2lbs week two. 1-2lbs a week from here on in would suit me nicely. I'me VERY chuffed and it's given me a bit of motivation to stay in control.

Tillyboo · 12/05/2007 13:04

Suzi2 - Oh well done you ! 1-2 lbs a week is a healthy safe long term loss

I've just got back from Next and I call the changing rooms 'The Wailing Rooms' cos you can hear everyone groaning and wailing about how fat they look in the mirrors.
There is something about the Next mirrors that are not at all flattering !
I cheated this morning and weighed myself - official weigh in is on Monday. I have stayed the same weight and after looking at myself in the 'Wailing Mirrors', am very, very fed up to say the least.
Looking on the bright side I haven't put on any weight and I haven't been able to walk this week cos of all the illness in the household, but I feel I have been very good on the not over-eating front.
I'll measure on Monday to see if there is any change - maybe that'll encourage me.
I just don't understand why I haven't lost anything. People have told me I look as if I have lost a lot of weight but my naked tummy screams 'NOT' !

I am going to see a nutritionist as my aching joints are returning and I think I maybe eating something (wheat/gluten) that is affecting me and maybe hindering my weight loss ???
Anyway, I shall keep going and hope you all do to. Keep posting your losses, it is very encouraging

tortoise · 12/05/2007 16:45

I need to get back on track with this. I am going to buy a cd player so that its easier to listen to the cd in bed and also find time to read the book properly.

Tillyboo · 13/05/2007 23:24

OK, weigh in tomorrow .... wish me luck.

Think I'm in for a big disappointment

hippipotami · 14/05/2007 11:45

Good luck TillyBoo - I don't think the actual weight is important, it is after all just a number, but if your clothes feel looser, you have lost cm's and people tell you that you must have lost weight, then that is very good!

Suzi - that is an amazing loss, 7lbs in ONE week?? WOW!!

I am not weighing myself for another two weeks, but have been eating loads, AF is taking her time (should have been here by now I think) and in the meantime I feel hungry, tired, bloated and grumpy. yuck!

suzi2 · 14/05/2007 13:08

lol, I wish! 7lb in 2 wks...

Tillyboo · 14/05/2007 14:24

Oh bum !
No weight loss, no change in measurements either.

I am due on though and my boobs feel like they are going to explode so maybe I'm full of water retention
I should be able to start walking again this week and my dh is going to bring my hybrid mountain bike in and put it on the contraption that allows me to cycle to my hearts content (but not get anywhere - it's a training aid)

Well done Suzi2, that's a great loss ! How much do you want to lose in total ? Have you set a target date ?

I wanted to lose 10lbs by the time I go to Royal Ascot on the 22nd June - I'm running out of time.

Maybe the loss will start to kick in this week.

suzi2 · 14/05/2007 20:19

I always weighed more when I was due on so it's probably that tillyboo.

I've got about 2.5/3 stone to lose to be about a size 12 as I was once before. Another stone more than that would be amazing, but fairly unachievable I think. No targets in mind. to be honest, even if I just keep this 7lbs off I'll be happy that's a start. I have a friends wedding reception at the end of June and a family wedding in July and I'd just like to feel a wee bit more confident and less of a blob!

saggers · 14/05/2007 21:54

Tillyboo, I'm so glad you've said that about Next mirrors - they ARE awful aren't they?! I thought it was just me. I don't understand why they don't improve the lighting or something, so that they make you look BETTER - surely they'd sell more clothes?!
Suzi2, your loss was great. Well done. Was that your first two weeks? I lost 6lbs in mine, and am due to weigh myself tomorrow...I've got about the same amount as you to lose to get back to a 12.
I've been doing ok, and exercising quite a bit, so hopefully the scales will be kind tomorrow...

suzi2 · 14/05/2007 22:14

yes that was the first two weeks. you always lose more the first week or so on a 'diet' I think so I don't expect that every two weeks. But it would be nice though . I think 1-2lbs will be more normal for me going by what I lost the 2nd week of the 2 wks (was naughty and weighed myself early lol). I think that since I have a fair bit to lose it might come off easier? I'm also breastfeeding so that might be helping a bit I suppose.

saggers · 15/05/2007 21:59

I weighed myself this morning and have lost another 6lbs!! Can't quite believe it. That's 12lbs in total, in 4 weeks! Have found today hard though - have eaten more than usual. All healthy stuff, but don't necessarily think I was hungry. Hope I don't mess up now and put it all back on!! I'm breastfeeding too- Although DD2 is 18 months, so it's not much now, still think it might be helping. Guess it's probably the exercise too. This beats any diet though!

Tillyboo · 16/05/2007 15:31

Cor Blimey ! Well done Saggers, that's fantastic !
My friend has started this programme (and she's tried every diet going) and is very impressed too, so it definitely works.

Even though I haven't lost any weight (it's been over 4 weeks), everyone tells me I'm looking slimmer - so I don't understand it.

I've been walking but not to the extent I would have thought that my muscle density is that heavy ???
I only want to lose about 10lbs (more would be great but I'm being realistic) and I've heard the last 10lbs is the hardest so maybe it's going to take me longer.

I'm keeping positive tho and am encouraged by all of you who are doing so well, so keep it up chaps

suzi2 · 16/05/2007 22:27

Well done saggers! I agree it's an easy diet, I'm eating pringles at the moment and had some cake about an hour ago. Ravenous today!

Glad to hear you're still positive tillyboo. In the days when I was only 10lbs over my ideal weight (a long time ago!) I found it nearly impossible to shift. I did shift it once by near starvation and then the weight piled on loads after that! The thing is, even if you're not losing weight (but inches?) then the diet isn't hard so you're not really losing anything by keeping going with it? hope that makes sense lol

saggers · 17/05/2007 20:07

Thanks Tillyboo and Suzi2. If you've only got to lose 10lbs () Tillyboo, then maybe you should just be going on what you lokk and feel like, rather than what the scales say. They're only really ever a guide aren't they, I suppose, as our weight can fluctuate so much from day to day. If people are saying they can see a difference then you know it must be working!
I've eaten too much today. I didn't really wait 'til I was hungry, and I certainly didn't stop when I was full... only when I'd finished the entire plateful of tuna burger and chips. I need to get back on track tomorrow, or I'll end up slipping back into my old ways. Will try to stay awake when I listen to the cd tonight.

saggers · 17/05/2007 20:08

look, not lokk!

Tillyboo · 17/05/2007 23:28

You're probably right but at 11st 13lb's, phsycologically I feel very overweight.
My tummy is the main culprit. I'm sure if I lost some of it I'd be at least 6lbs lighter !

I have always been quite athletic in my build but since I had my dd 3 yrs ago, the 3.5st I put on has been very slow to come off. Age is a factor too, being 44 this year
I have always had big arms and a very broad back due to swimming (and my inherited physique) but the layer of blub over the top is accentuating my build.

My family are all very heavy - even when slim. At 8.5st when I was 17, I was stick thin but too heavy to work in a pony stud. So at 10st 10lb's when I got married and just before I fell pregnant, I was nicely slim.

I'd love to get down to just over 11st so I'm off to bed with Paul now for some ...

299, 298, 297, 296 "That's Right", 295 etc. etc.
Always makes me giggle the "That's Right" bit. Paul has such an American twang when he say's that

saggers · 18/05/2007 21:14

I find myself laughing at his "That's right" bit - especially when I haven't been concentrating, and am thinking about something else instead of counting. Have you ever made it down to zero? I have tried, but haven't ever done it.

suzi2 · 18/05/2007 21:36

lol, dare I admit that I think he sounds a bit dirty when he's saying the "That's right" and it gets me a little turned on?

My mum managed to listen to it right through. She struggles with sleep and was hoping to fall asleep but didn't manage. Poor mum, when reading the book she was trying to think of someone who loved her unconditionally (to see through their eyes thing) and after racking her brains for ages, she came up with the cat!

Tillyboo · 18/05/2007 21:59

Bugger ! After dh just recovering from chicken pox and me suspected shingles, my dd has come out in blistery spots so I'll be housebound this week.

Good job we have a big garden, I'll have to do a few laps in the day and try and get out and walk in the evening.

My poor little dd has got horrible chicken pox spots inside her bits so she's very sore. Bless her she's so good natured, an absolute angel.

Dh has just moved back into our bedroom after being banished to the spare room as he was pretty poorly so I won't be able to listen to Paul in bed now. Dh just laughs and takes the P when I've tried to play it in bed before.

No, never managed to count down to 0, I either zonk out way before or I sort of feel all weird, like I've had one too many so I'm incapable of counting forwards let alone backwards !

saggers · 19/05/2007 09:19

Lol suzi2!! Are you serious!!
(And could your mum not have used you for her unconditional love bit, instead of the cat?!!)
Sorry to hear about your little dd. I hope she makes a speedy recovery. She must feel very uncomfortable, poor thing.
Good luck over the weekend, girls!! x

saggers · 19/05/2007 09:20

I mean your dd, Tillyboo, just forgot to put your name in that sentence.

saggers · 19/05/2007 09:22

Wonder where arfur and hippipotomi etc have gone? Have they wasted away, d'you think?
