I've been doing it for 4 weeks. First two weeks were easy and lost 8lbs, but I keep lapsing. Would like to copmpare notes with anyone else doing it...

Well done Tilly - you must be really toning up!

Poor dog is shattered, his little legs must be an inch shorter now! (not really, he is a spaniel and thrives on long country rambles, so he is in his element. And dh is pleased that I have taken over dog-walking duty too!)

I sort of regret weighing myself now, because I know that when I will weight myself again in another 3 weeks time I will be disappointed if I have not lost another 6lbs. No pleasing me is there?

Anyhow, time to listen to the CD and then sleep!

See you all tomorrow!

Tillyboo · 02/05/2007 22:46

Yep, me too ...
I hear the CD calling me.
D'you know, the funny thing is that I find Paul quite attractive in some way. Didn't really before so I reckon he puts something in his CD to make women fancy him !!!!

Have you got a Springer ? I've had a couple and they are 'unknackerable'. Fantastic dogs with loads of character and ENERGY !!!

hippipotami · 03/05/2007 07:57

Phew! I am soo glad you admitted to finding Paul quite attractive - I thought I was the only one!!
He is really quite nice looking, and I could listen to his voice for hours (good thing too...)

We have a Cocker Spaniel, a gorgeous, daft, brown little bear of a dog.
He is not as active as a springer (could not have coped with that) but still needs a good 45mins romp in the woods every day to keep him calm and happy.

DH used to take him running with him in the mornings, but got so fed up with Dill (the dog) weaving between his legs and tripping him up that he is more than happy for me to take him for a brisk walk every day instead.
DD is now at nursery in the afternoon, so I have time to take him, there is no way DD's little legs would cope with a long walk.

arfur · 03/05/2007 12:04

Have been doing this for 3 weeks since coming back from holiday and seeing the photos of myself in a bikini need to lose around 2 stone and have done 4 - 5lbs so far so am quite pleased. Someone said on another post that its such a relief. Totally agree, I am a compusive overeater and I feel totally in control at the moment which is rare for me. He is exactly right with his theory about thinking about food constantly except when you are actually eating it. I am finding it very empowering so Paul rocks! Keep up the good work everyone.

Tillyboo · 03/05/2007 13:39

Love the name Hippipotami - Did you take it from 'The Herb Garden' ? Dil the dog ?
Wish I had another dog but waiting til dd is a little older.
I love Springers but they are flippin hard work sometimes. Cockers are a bit more subtle !

Just going to do a Boden order now so...., do I order a 16 or 14 top. Hmmm .....

Off to Badminton Horse Trials tomorrow so me thinks I'll have a night off walking tonight as we'll probably get a good walk in tomorrow. It's dressage so no tromping around the course, but the shopping village takes a couple of rounds to get everything in

Arfur, that's a really good start, the old bikini shot is a killer. I did the underwear one and I could have jumped out the window. I've hidden it from dh except I can't remember where ?

hippipotami · 03/05/2007 14:01

Badminton Horse Trials - Tillyboo you lucky girl!

Dillon is a bit of a misnomer. We got him was when The Magic Roundabout was on in all the cinemas. DD was nearly 3, DS was nearly 6, and both were adamant that the dog in the film was called Dillon. (He was not, Dougal was the dog and Dillon was the stoned rabbit, but try telling my DC that) Hence Dillon the dog in our house (sigh...)

It suits him though, he has that typical 'friendly but a little daft' cocker personality and we all love him to bits...

Feeling cross with myself - just got the munchies and grabbed a Twix. So much for 'automatically chosing healthy options'.
AAARRRGGG

hippipotami · 03/05/2007 14:02

Well done arfur - we CAN do this, and we WILL do this!!

Tillyboo · 03/05/2007 14:53

Tell yourself that Twix's look like turds ....

Works for me - just go on to the Green & Blacks instead.
Get the highest Coco content, think mine is 80% + but it's strong so you an only manage a small square every now and again.

Yes, looking forward to Badminton. I love horses and am a regular racegoer being an annual member to my local racecourse. My dd who is just 3 comes with me and loves it too. We have to get to the rails to watch the horses fly past - she gets so excited, it's lovely to watch.
I'm going to Royal Ascot this year (not ladies day tho - can't stand the drunken girls tippy toeing around absolutely trolleyed looking for blokes) which'll be fab

hippipotami · 03/05/2007 19:24

Twixs' look like Turds - I like it!!

My selfcontrol is useless, even with Paul's help!

Never mind...

Did another lovely walk with Dill today, and then spent an hour in the park with the DC after school. Most of that was spent sitting on a bench chatting to the other mums though...

saggers · 03/05/2007 21:17

arfur - Glad you're doing well on it. I feel the same as you about it, but have a bit more to lose than you.
Hippipotami - I'm reading Jason Vale's book "Chocolate Busters" at the moment. I haven't wanted chocolate at all since I started reading it. It's frightening stuff. Think that the McKenna/Vale combination has put me off it completely. I know it's only been three weeks really, but don't think I've EVER gone so long without wanting chocolate. Just hope it lasts.
Tillyboo - order a 14 and a 16, and then hopefully you can just return the 16.
Can't say I'm with you two on finding Paul attractive, so don't think it can be the cd. Having said that, if I manage to get back down to the weight I want to be using his system , then he will take on god-like status in my eyes.

hippipotami · 03/05/2007 23:10

saggers - Jason Vale anti-chocolate book sounds good. Will have a look out for one!

Do you think it is the CD making us find Paul attractive. Subliminal messages cleverly woven into the text - Y"ou will eat less and feel satisfied and think I am the sexiest man you have ever seen"

Anyhoo, it is late, must go and listen to my CD before bed!

Nighty night!

arfur · 04/05/2007 11:16

Must admit that at the start of the cd when his voice gets slower and slower I always start to giggle as I think he sounds a bit pervy! Keep picturing him in a dirty rainmac - so I dont think its the cd making him appear attractive unless I am not susceptible to those powers . Altho I havent listened to it every day!

hippipotami · 04/05/2007 11:54

Listen to it every day arfur - Pauls' seductive powers will overcome you too!!

Tillyboo · 04/05/2007 20:55

'Look into my eyes, look into my eyes, not around the eyes ....'

Pauls voice is sooooo smooth (but that naff American twang does make me giggle).

Badminton was fab ! Flippin cold tho. Dressage today. Great shopping !

Lots and lots of walking & pushing an almost 3st toddler in a three wheeler buggy - great exercise.

I did have a 'Feast' ice cream as a treat BUT I was hungry an I did eat it consciously and I really wanted it

Anyone got any exciting exercise planned for this weekend ? We've hired a skip - lots of garden clearing and shed demolishing to be done. Does that count as exercise?, I don't think I'll be up for any walking after all that.

hippipotami · 05/05/2007 10:14

I had some chocolate last night, but ate it slowly and enjoyed every mouthful, so that was ok!

Not a lot planned for the weekend, gardening, diy etc...

tortoise · 05/05/2007 14:26

I am not doing very well with this yet. I think another read through of the book is needed.
Glad i am not the only one who giggles at the start of the cd. Can't say i find him attractive though!
I will have to look out for the Jason vale book. i have a few of his others and found them good.

suzi2 · 05/05/2007 15:40

I'm naughty... I weighed myself last night! I didn't exactly intend to - I was weighing DD roughly then realised that I had to weigh myself to calculate her weight IYSWIM. Anyway, I was down 4lbs - that's in a week and it was a night time weight! VERY chuffed! I'm amazed, I've eaten what I want when I want and plenty of junk food! I do have a fair bit to lose and I reckon the effects of breastfeeding might also be helping a bit.

not doing so well today as we've had a BBQ and I can't seem to NOT eat too much.

Finally listened (well, slept) to the CD the other night. Glad someone mentioned the slowing down thing... I thought my CD player was going wonky!

saggers · 06/05/2007 09:19

That's brilliant, Suzi2! It's good incentive to keep going.
I'm doing yoga every night before bed, and running 3x a week, and even went for an impromptu run last night.
I'm feeling slimmer, and my clothes are looser. But...I made the mistake of trying on an old pair of jeans this morning. I could barely get them up my legs, let alone try to fasten them! Paul's positive thinking ust be working though, for me to think I might be able to get them on!!
Thanks to arfur, I now picture him in a dirty raincoat, lurking in the bushes somewhere!

hippipotami · 09/05/2007 09:17

How is it going guys?
I have been eating loads these last few days, not sure if the CD is losing its grip on my subconcious!

Am not going to weigh myself yet though, will only end up being disappointed at any weight I will have put back on (and am sure I am putting on at the mo...)

Tillyboo · 09/05/2007 10:09

Hmmm ... not so good at the moment. DH has chicken pox and is pretty ill with it so I haven't been able to get out and have my long walks.
On top of that, I have woken up with a rash that suspiciously looks like shingles ! I'm just waiting for the duty doc to call me back. I've not felt right for a few days and have had no patience with my 3yo dd who talks for England !
All we need now is for little munchkin to go down with Chicken Pox. I'll be amazed if she misses out.
What a healthy household. Mind you, might lose some weight
Hippipotomami - I was thinking the same about the CD too but put it down to not concentrating on account of what's going on at the moment.
Looking at my jelly belly today I'll be amazed if I've lost any weight - doesn't feel like it, although the measurements might say something different.
7 more days until weight in

hippipotami · 09/05/2007 11:14

Oh no Tilly!!! Sorry to hear you are all poorly - I really hope you all feel better soon.
I am hoping that the CD is in fact working super well, and that what I see as eating huge amounts are in fact mere tiny morsels , here's hoping!!

I have another 14 days before I weigh myself - am sticking to every 21 days for now.

Stick with it, am sure perserverance is the key (so says the woman with no will power )

Tillyboo · 09/05/2007 11:57

Great News ..... I have shingles !
So I am consoling myself with a small chocolate cake, yum! yum!

hippipotami · 09/05/2007 14:41

Oh Tilly, what a nightmare!! You do know all diets are off-limits whilst you are ill don't you?

Enjoy the choccie cake!

Tillyboo · 09/05/2007 16:59

Ooh yes, I've had a couple of little squares of Bendicks very high cocoa content dark choc choc
Def makes me feel better ...

suzi2 · 09/05/2007 20:18

You havemy sympathies Tilly - I've had shingles a couple of times. A sign you're run down perhaps so take good care of yourself and get plenty of rest.
