Bluepetal1 · 06/06/2017 11:06

Hi all please may I join in . I have read about 4 pages of your thread but no time to read all but you are all so motivational , I am struggling but keen . I currently weigh at 196 lb .

I am going to SW but need more support .

Thanks

Racheljones405 · 06/06/2017 11:31

I'd like to join you please. I'm looking for some motivation to lose some weight. I seem to have the exercise bit mostly sorted, but it's not enough for me to actually lose any weight. I'm logging on MFP (again) from today. I have two stone to lose.
current weight: 13 stone
target: 11stone
Any craving busting tips would be welcome!!

FreeNiki · 06/06/2017 11:33

Its alot of money to pay to track steps that's why I didnt buy one. I was going to buy one but then figured simple walking has never made me lose weight and MFP has virtually every type of class that I do to enter in the app and I can use that free.

I am going to try weights today in the scary weights room. I havent lost weight again but my fat percentages and everything else on boditrax has improved.

FreeNiki · 06/06/2017 11:35

Hi racheljones! Welcome aboard!

HairsprayBabe · 06/06/2017 11:38

Welcome welcome petal and Rachel

Do you have plans that you are following? We all do different things, SW, LCHF, blood sugar diet, fasting, 16:8 etc.

Craving busting, I would recommend a high protein breakky so you aren't hungry at elevenses and then a good selection of herbal tea/sparkling water/hot bovril/broth so you can have something if you want to mid afternoon.

After dinner try "closing the kitchen" so you can't just mindlessly snack in the evening. If cravings are strong take a shower/clean/go for a walk to take your mind off it!

This is the best thread on mumsnet (TM) you will be kicking linda to the curb in to time!

Racheljones405 · 06/06/2017 11:43

Thanks for the tips.
I'm calorie counting on MFP at the minute - i've done this before and it's worked best for me.
You're right about closing the kitchen at night. That's my worse time for me once the kids are in bed. Good idea re. bovril. I haven't tried that before so will give it a go.

Bluepetal1 · 06/06/2017 11:45

Thanks hairspray yes I'm on SW . I need the weekly weigh in but I fell down last week and didn't go . I really want to lose. 7 lbs this month . I do great for a few weeks then fall off the wagon . I have a step counter it's not a Fitbit and perhaps 5 days out of 7 I go over 10k steps.

HairsprayBabe · 06/06/2017 12:41

I think getting back on the wagon is one of the hardest things about dieting, it is so easy to let it spiral! I have a lot of making up to do this week after a very indulgent weekend, but I weigh in everyday, only way to keep me in the zone is knowing I face the shame of the scales in the morning!

Don't give in, keep plodding away and it will work!

FreeNiki · 06/06/2017 12:51

I have made some ok progress and I look back at old photos or remember how I used to feel overweight and say im not going back to that.

Softpebbles · 06/06/2017 13:32

Pot of humour, necklace of the woods.

*will read before I post 🙈

readyforsunshine · 06/06/2017 13:40

Feeling so much better thanks, so much so that I came out of pt & felt like I may be able to manage a run againShock
Maybe I should give c25k a go with you walkers? I last ran about 2 years ago & even then not very far, how are you getting on? Need to up my steps for the challenge somehow if I'm going to get anywhere close to the other slenderistas Grin

QuimReaper · 06/06/2017 13:44

Welcome petal and rachel. This thread has been great for several people who often manage a few Lindas and then drift off the wagon; most people know perfectly well how it's done but find it hard to keep up their motivation, but having a posse makes it easier to retain focus!

lastqueenofscotland · 06/06/2017 14:24

I've had a few too many office biscuits Blush but apart from that meals were mixed bean salad with leaves and red onion and dinner will be Dahl and roasted cauliflower (no rice) plus on my feed all day at work and I'll run a 10k at least tonight.

MUST STOP WITH WORK SNACKS

WalkersNotLays · 06/06/2017 14:41

Sunshine I'm doing OK really need to put myself into gear and stick to a schedule. I am really noticing a difference in my stamina which is amazing

No! Stop right now koko Have a big glass of water and go do something with your hands, cleaning, drawing, gardening whatever.

QuimReaper · 06/06/2017 15:01

on my feed all day at work Great Freudian slip!

koko Tomorrow I want you to write out every scrap of food you're going to eat, and put all the food to one side. Just make a separate pile of it in the fridge, or leave it on the counter if any of it can be left out. If you want to be super-strict, you can even write yourself out a timetable writing in cups of tea / coffee, even water if you need to keep that under control. If you can manage it for a couple of days it will get much easier to break The Graze.

Deal?

HairsprayBabe · 06/06/2017 15:23

Oh Niki I am so glad you are feeling more positive!

Something I neglected to tell you all about my night out, I wore a dress that I bought for my sixth form leavers party! Very very tight and vixen like, and it fit me lovely didn't even wear spanx!

QuimReaper · 06/06/2017 15:36

Oh my God Hairspray, what a NSV! You'll be sitting there in your school uniform this time next month!

Niki I so badly want you to have a steamy hook-up with Hot PT and tell us all the details Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 06/06/2017 15:37

Rachel I'm using MFP as well. How many calories a day are you on? I try to stick below 1200 and I don't easy my exercise calories. I've sort of been bumping round the same few pounds for a few weeks now. Can't quite seem to get my arse into gear to lose the last few pounds Blush

Quim I want so much to have a hook up with PT but more so want to date.

You know the song I want to break free?

I keep hearing that in my head but replacing it with the words:

I want to fuck Sam
I want to FUCK SAM

I have got it bad. Class with him tonight!

Oh and to all the newbies, I have a HUGE crush on one of the pts at my gym.

Oh yes there will be frequent updates about my interactions with him as well as diet updates.

I am going to make it my lifes mission to do him
