So over the last few months I have been messing around trying to lose weight and getting nowhere - I am actually heavier than ever. As some of you may have seen from another thread I thought that trying something different might help so I went to my first slimming world class yesterday - unfortunately I was not impressed and I don't think it's for me. So I am using a brand new month to motivate me and spending today planning are more positive May and my meals this week. Anyone else out there also struggling but feeling positive about the new month?

How does a Fitbit work, pinkie? Heard a lot about them. Do they measure your steps and heart rate etc?

Designerenvy · 03/05/2017 16:33

I'm hungry Sad! Doing well all day. No rubbish , lots of water and not hungry til just now! Drinking more water to curb it ! Had a small snack ( cracker and peanut butter) , about 3 hours to dinner. Avoiding treat press !
ellie I feel your pain. I'm working tomorrow and there's always loads of treats hanging around , hope I can hold out !

pinkieandperkie · 03/05/2017 16:40

Star, I've ordered the Fitbit Alta and this is what it does.

I hope everyone is doing well! i haven't had a snack so far too, last time it was difficult the first two weeks or so (not snacking), but after that it became part of my routine, snacking was just not a part of my day. I hope it will be that easy this time too. I wish 'snacking in moderation' would work for me, but i'm a all or nothing person, if i snack, i want all the snacks. I'm not drinking, and try to keep my portion sizes small. Reading about your days feels relatable, in a way it's comforting

good luck everyone, keep me updated Flowers

Why is it when u have a good swim it makes u starving??

I think whats making it more difficult is I have dinner in the oven and its mouth watering!

Had a crumpet to try and hold it off for a few hours, probably not the best snack but it was the only thing in the cupboards lol

Designerenvy · 03/05/2017 16:57

Emmmm, crumpet sounds gooood!

StarHeartDiamond · 03/05/2017 18:28

Thanks pinkie, the Fitbit looks good, I might have to invest in one!

Designerenvy · 03/05/2017 18:30

My sister has a fit bit and swears by it ! Wld love one. Might drop hints for birthday in SeptWink. Enjoy yours pinkie

369thegoosedrankwine · 03/05/2017 18:37

Pinkie you will be addicted to your Fitbit. I bought a new one a few weeks ago and I aim for 11.500 steps for weight loss.

It made me realise I don't get enough sleep and I am quite still at the weekends.

Enjoy it. Mine does motivate me.

pinkieandperkie · 03/05/2017 18:54

I've had a text, my Fitbit is out for delivery!

It will be interesting to see how many steps I actually do. I have that health app on my iPhone but it has to be in your pocket all day to give a realistic count but I keep forgetting to put my phone back in my pocket so I never really know.

I'm excited Smile

Designerenvy · 03/05/2017 19:29

Grinpinkie, excited for u !

TheOriginalAngel · 03/05/2017 19:37

Thank you Shark 😊

BeyondStrongAndStable · 03/05/2017 19:55

I'm eyeing up the Alta - I have the old HR and it is slowly dying. Has a great crack in the screen now too, which I think may be related to an alcohol induced accident Confused

My aim at the moment is 3000 steps a day, which is just about achievable on a good day. :)

d270r0 · 03/05/2017 20:03

Today went ok for me- skipped breakfast but had 2 ginger biscuits at 11.00, then lunch- 1 slice toast with 2 scrambled eggs. Snack was 1 oatie biscuit and grapes, then dinner- chicken, roast potatoes, gravy and loads of veg. Am now done so quite pleased with that.

I love chocolate rice cakes- but if I get them I just end up scoffing the entire pack :( No willpower. If I don't have bad food in the house I don't eat it but if its there I end up eating the lot.

Designerenvy · 03/05/2017 20:18

Today went well. Avoided the sugar! Had a couple of hungry hours in the evening but that's to be expected . Happy enough ! Hope tomorrow goes as well Smile

Seav · 03/05/2017 20:32

Another easy day for me (so pleased!) - I know they won't all be easy but I really, really needed for these first few days to be easy as I am very diet jaded...after so many years yo-yoing.

Thighsaplenty · 03/05/2017 20:33

Just fucking ruined it by eating The best part of a pack of chocolate digestives. Day was so horrific and I was so tired I justified it to myself. Now I hate myself. Why can't I have self control?

lamado · 03/05/2017 20:34

I got through today as well. Had a tough hour late afternoon but that passed. It was great to sit down to dinner and be hungry, I actually really enjoyed it even though it was just a chicken curry that I often make. Normally I've had quite a few tastes when cooking and serving up.
Think I might get a Fitbit for my birthday, i definitely need to up my activity levels.

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 03/05/2017 20:40

I love my new Fitbit

It measures steps, distance, floors, calories in and out, logs food and water intake, and logs sleep.

I love it!

Jacket potato/slimming world chili and salad for dinner.

Jus done 3k on treadmill straight from work for runeverydaymay running streak

pinkieandperkie · 03/05/2017 20:41

Thighs don't feel bad and hate yourself. We will all mess up sooner or later so you are not alone. Just move on and start a fresh tomorrow. It's done now. Smile

honeyroar · 03/05/2017 20:41

You all sound like you're making a great start. I think the trick is to not deprive yourself too much and find tasty heathy things that you like. For me it's been berries and grapes in Greek yogurt, I have it three or four times a week and it seems to stop any hunger pangs or sugar craves! And I've ditched anything diet, the real versions fill you more anyway. For the first time ever I don't feel on a diet, and don't have any guilt.

Today I went shopping for some clothes for a girls weekend and I've gone down a size, easily. Still a big size, still a lot more work to do, but it's a nice feeling!

Lubilu28 · 03/05/2017 21:12

Dinner was worth the wait, slimming world beef and red wine casserole mmmmmm 😋 with jacket potato and veg!!

Ended the day on 1500 calories!! Will be aiming for 1300 tomorrow. I have a Fitbit Alta and has really helped me step up my game, 11,000 steps today, and a 40 min swim :)

I love how u can sync it with MyFitnessPal

Designerenvy · 03/05/2017 21:39

Ah don't beat yourself up plenty.. Tomorrow is another day, new start ! We will all have days like that, keep going !
Well done honey being down a dress size is fab, well done u !

Designerenvy · 03/05/2017 21:40

Lubilu, not sure I could cope with 1,300 calorise, I'd die of hunger! Good going u!

Ellieboolou27 · 03/05/2017 22:13

thighs I was thinking of you as only just got both girls to sleep!
20 month old would not bloody sleep I've just come downstairs and eaten 2 rice cakes....good but smothered in peanut butter and a cam of full sugar Coke Blush
We can put it past us, like desinger said it's done what matters is tomorrow.
