So over the last few months I have been messing around trying to lose weight and getting nowhere - I am actually heavier than ever. As some of you may have seen from another thread I thought that trying something different might help so I went to my first slimming world class yesterday - unfortunately I was not impressed and I don't think it's for me. So I am using a brand new month to motivate me and spending today planning are more positive May and my meals this week. Anyone else out there also struggling but feeling positive about the new month?

Thanks designer and Ellie Smile

Some days/weeks I feel really motivated but some weeks I just feel so hungry! Even an extra bowl of cereal can push over the days calorie allowance and means a maintain day after day..

I know other people find exercise motivating but I haven't got into that yet. I find new clothes to look forward to and taking care of myself motivating. When one element slips it all slips!! Grin

So tonight. It's bath, do feet, facepack and early night with fresh pjs and bedding. Tomorrow I'm getting my nails done Smile and I think I'm due a trip to the hairdressers so I might do that next week.

Thanks for the support guys... you're the best Flowers

Hope you enjoyed your bath Star ! Sounds lovely ! Sounds lie you didn't go too far off track, especially if your avoiding the bad stuff ! It amazes me how much my appetite fluctuates too....one day I find it hard to eat the Amy I should and the next I could gladly devour the while contents of the fridge and cupboards in one sitting ! ....what's that about ???Hmm
Ellie, you seem to be back on track too ! Well done on the 3 pound loss....that's fab and will keep you motivated !
I'm not one bit jealous of Panda....off on her hols!Envy.... seriously, hope she has a ball ! Smile

StarHeartDiamond · 11/06/2017 14:44

I did Designer, it would have been perfect if not for kids banging on the bathroom door Grin but I managed face pack, foot and body scrub with my nice Sanctuary stuff from Boots (for special bath nights only) Smile also have been taking my vitamins fir the last couple of days and maybe it's all psychosomatic but I do feel more energised.

Hope Panda is having a lovely holiday!

How are you doing for staying on track this weekend Ellie? Hope it's going well. I resisted a macdonalds yesterday so I felt quite proud, would have been so easy to snaffle a Big Mac meal with extra cheeseburger on the side...

Ellieboolou27 · 11/06/2017 15:32

Bath sounds lovely star, I might indulge in some pampering tonight as I've been wobbly over the weekend! Resisted dh Indian takeaway Friday night but yesterday ate a huge wedge of cheesecake and 2 bags ready salted Blush

Did lots of waking today and yesterday but doubt it will counteract the calories I consumed!
Since having the weighing scales back in the bathroom I've become a bit weigh in obsessed again, they may have to go back to desk drawer at work Grin

Designerenvy · 12/06/2017 22:29

Hi ladies. Walking away but not eating great today and yesterday. Wrong choices and too much of everything. Definitely getting back on track tomorrow!

Lol Ellie at the scales going back in the work drawer !

Ellieboolou27 · 13/06/2017 06:55

Morning all, there must be something in the air again! Too much nibbling, a few glasses of wine once the kids in bed Grin
4 weeks left until holiday so got to knuckle down now, I found s lovely costume in m&s yesterday but if I manage to lose 7-10lbs it will make it more lovely!
Scales say 1lb gain yesterday so keeping off them for a while.

I find I tend to go off track when I fail to plan my meals and weigh myself too often
Design it's a new day so let's stay focused and motivated.

StarHeartDiamond · 13/06/2017 08:29

Ellie - I can really recommend a bath with Epsom salts, my local Tesco has two kinds in - pink and ordinary. They are detoxifying so I find it gives a boost to dieting! Stay on track, you've done so well and with only 4 weeks to go you can definitely lose at least another half stone in that time. We're all with you! And you, designer. You've done so well too. Let's just say today we'll all make the right choices no matter what temptations cross our path! Smile

Still struggling to stay on the path but overall better this week, I might be a pound or half a pound down on weds, it's not the 2lb I had as a goal but any loss is good!

StarHeartDiamond · 13/06/2017 08:33

What's your new cossie like, Ellie? I used to go for black always but now I like a jazzy pattern (although I eye up white too, but worry it'll turn see-through in the water!) But any costume for me is governed first by how well it covers my bum... sigh...

Ellieboolou27 · 13/06/2017 10:42

This is the costume star, looks boring but very flattering on, ive big boobs and it's really supportive. Ive 2 quite jazzy costumes already at home, but not quite sure if I can brave them this year Grin

Will check out those bath salts, I need some pampering!

StarHeartDiamond · 13/06/2017 10:57

Oh it's lovely Ellie, very chic! I can see that with a floppy hat and some cats eye sunglasses. Audrey Hepburn eat your heart out!

I have big boobs too but I usually go for a bandeau top style to contain those girls! Funnily enough I feel better in jazzy suits - I must feel they are camouflage! Grin I would love to wear a cut out, high leg white suit but that's not gonna happen any time soon Grin

Ellieboolou27 · 13/06/2017 12:13

Yes to high cut but no in my current body Grin
ive a lovely coloured sarong to go with it to do pool to lounger dashes, I always say this year I'm going for a bikini but it never happens! If I continue with weight loss then maybe next year.....Wink

Designerenvy · 13/06/2017 20:45

That looks fab Ellie. It will be fab with the colourful sarong!
I had ds graduation ceremony today ( leaving primary school) so we went for a pizza after as a treat ! Really dreading scales tomorrow now 😣

Ellieboolou27 · 13/06/2017 23:00

Aw that's a celebration you couldn't skimp on, bet your son would remember if mum took him to celebrate and didn't join, hope the scales are gentle on you tomorrow.

I'm saving my weigh in until next Monday as trying to rectify the wine damage over the last few days GrinWine

Designerenvy · 14/06/2017 08:13

Thanks Ellie had a lovely day and was quit emotional . Yeah, I did join in, garlic bread and all the trimmings..lol!

Down half a pound..... at least it's in the right direction but those scales can be very unforgiving ! TBH I wasn't as good as I should have been, 3 bad days,so I suppose any loss is good.
That's a good idea to wait til Monday.... I've a bbq at a friends on Sat night, so I probably won't behave there either !

StarHeartDiamond · 14/06/2017 12:13

Aw what a lovely occasion, designer! Like Ellie says, it's one you really couldn't skimp on. That's an occasion where pizza eating has to happen! Well done on the half pound loss. Any loss is fantastic!

Good luck for Monday's weigh in, Ellie!

I'm doing ok at the moment, managing to keep a lid on snacking etc. I'm absolutely sure the vitamins and extra fluids help me, I feel brighter in myself too. Making the most of this window of feeling on top of the diet as I know it can be followed by struggles to stay on track, but it's all about finding a balance you can live with...

Got family plans for Father's Day so going to try & stay on track for the next four days until Sunday so I can relax a bit more then SmileCakeWine

Ellieboolou27 · 14/06/2017 13:23

Star you've summed it up perfectly! Dieting / being good windows - I love that expression! It's so true. When I'm focussed I feel so empowered at times even smug but when I cheat I it all goes out that window Grin
Let's try and be Halo until the wkend

StarHeartDiamond · 14/06/2017 13:55

You're on, Ellie! Brew We can make it through to the weekend!

Designerenvy · 14/06/2017 16:16

Thanks star...it's all little milestones. He's my eldest so Sept will be a whole new experience for us but fingers crossed it goes well for him !
I did laugh at your window for being g good comment....it's so true ! When there are no real plans and the diet is going well it's the best feeling ever, if you fall off the wagon ( as we all do) you feel like crap.
I'll Join ye in trying to be good til the weekend....as I said I've a bbq Sat but will try my best to be good til then ! Here we go then ! Grin

Ellieboolou27 · 14/06/2017 18:19

Design the bar b que should be (in theory) be healthy, grilled meats, salad, in my experience though it's the coleslaw, potatoe salad, big juicy fat sausages in buns with loads of fried onions, burgers, I'd better stop now as I'm making myself hungry Grin
We are the 3 dieting musketeers minus missing panda but she's missing on hols so we can forgive
Grin

MissingPanda · 14/06/2017 18:37

Signing in from Lanzarote although coming home tomorrow so last day today. I was just reading through and thought of a tip although you'll probably already know it. We all have times where we can eat continuously but if you're feeling hungry and it's not a meal time try drinking water instead. It may be thirst instead of hunger.

Ellieboolou27 · 14/06/2017 19:13

Hey panda!!!! Hope your having a great time, I'm going costa teguise in lanzarote next month!
Totally agree about hunger being misplaced for thirst, I'm currently in the garden with a big glass of sparking water!
Safe flight home tomorrow, enjoy your last night

Designerenvy · 14/06/2017 22:26

Ha ha Ellie , I'm hungry now too...don't forget the wine too.... I'll be good though famous last words Grin
Hi Panda!!!! Hope u had a ball !! I'm so very jealous Envy.....enjoy the last night !!! Hope you're nice and relaxed after your break.
You're right about thirst....I often mistake it for hunger and that's when I reach for the bad stuff lie chocolate or crisps! Water definitely helps ward off hunger for a bit . Safe home tomorrow Smile

StarHeartDiamond · 14/06/2017 22:54

Hi panda! Hope you've had a lovely holiday! Definitely right about the water drinking. Have a fab last night tonight!

Another day avoiding snacks although had a hairy moment when going to the petrol station to fill up, the liquorice all sorts were calling me but I just didn't buy them (I don't know how!) nothing worse in a diet than getting to the end of the day successfully and blowing it last minute... whadda waste Smile ....

Designerenvy · 15/06/2017 14:11

Weighed myself this morning cos I felt all I ate on Tuesday evening may influence yesterday's weigh in. I was down another pound, so that's 10 in total since I started.... that's the motivation I needed now to keep going Smile.....I must stay away from the scales til next wed now !
