So over the last few months I have been messing around trying to lose weight and getting nowhere - I am actually heavier than ever. As some of you may have seen from another thread I thought that trying something different might help so I went to my first slimming world class yesterday - unfortunately I was not impressed and I don't think it's for me. So I am using a brand new month to motivate me and spending today planning are more positive May and my meals this week. Anyone else out there also struggling but feeling positive about the new month?

Oh you would, designer - I don't know anyone who doesn't Grin

I am rewarded for my virtue with a running total this morning of -7.4lbs!!

StarHeartDiamond · 10/05/2017 08:08

Congratulations on your half stone, beyond! Star

Design - we had rainbow sponge with pink custard at primary school. Most popular pudding ever!

Im also another pound off - so 7lb today, although it feels like a fluke Blush Last night I tried some clothes on that were too tight before and they're definitely looser now, which was encouraging. Still got a stone to go though.

sallywiththegoodhurr · 10/05/2017 08:09

I did resist! Thank you for the encouragement. Black coffee and eggs for breakfast this morning, what is everyone else having?

StarHeartDiamond · 10/05/2017 08:12

Well done Sally! Smile that's fantastic.

Cereal bar and a cup of tea here, same as every day Smile with an apple when I can face it in an hour...

BeyondStrongAndStable · 10/05/2017 08:49

Thanks star and well done for the willpower sally!!

Same as usual breakfast here too - no added sugar muesli, blueberries and whole milk, with a giant cup of lemon and ginger tea

Designerenvy · 10/05/2017 09:17

Congratulations beyond and star Star ye are great losers Smile!
Well done Sally on resisting, bet you feel good today , it so hard though sometimes !
Star that sounds like real comfort childhood food.... never had that,...I live in Ireland, was deprived of such lovely puddings Grin
Well, my first weigh in after a week and I'm down 5 pounds. Luckily I don't feel as bloated today so I'm sure that's helping. Delighted now though, that'll hopefully keep me motivated for the coming week .....thank goodness for water loss Smile

Designerenvy · 10/05/2017 09:18

Oh Sally, I'm having eggs and brown bread, nothing groundbreaking really. Enjoy the day .

Ellieboolou27 · 10/05/2017 10:03

Weetabix skimmed milk and raisins, lunch is sweet potatoe falafel with flatbread salad and houmous, dinner is a courgette and feta omelette with salad.
Well done sally for resisting!

Ellieboolou27 · 10/05/2017 10:05

StarHeartDiamond · 10/05/2017 11:32

A big congratulations designer on your 5lb loss!

LapCatLicker · 10/05/2017 15:14

Well done losers! Wink
I switched from the regular pate sandwich to a herby roast chicken with salad for lunch. Currently riding the 3pm slump with a cup of tea with no milk.

What's everyone having for dinner?

Ellieboolou27 · 10/05/2017 16:17

Good swap lap I'm so hungry today, I had a really filling lunch but hour later hungry again! I think it's because the last 2 days I've been super strict.

Dinner is a courgette & feta omelette with salad and light dressing. I'm going out to a conference tonight so will be eating early at 5.30, how the hell will I cope without eating again until the morning!!! no more calories left after dinner either!

It's been a hungry hungry day Smile

StarHeartDiamond · 10/05/2017 17:42

Stir fry here tonight lapcat! My fave Smile

Designerenvy · 10/05/2017 18:45

That's a good swap Lap. All the little things make a big difference.

Lubilu28 · 10/05/2017 18:51

Well done everyone!!

I'm trying to wait till Saturday to weigh myself I'm hoping for a good loss!! I did have a lady comment today asking me if I'd lost weight which was so motivating to keep on going!!

likeababyelephant · 10/05/2017 18:52

Had 2 chicken fajitas cooked from scratch, salsa included on wholewheat tortillas.

Should have stuck with 1 but was hungry and still am.

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 10/05/2017 19:35

Well done everyone! It's so encouraging to see. Wonder what the total thread loss is? Must be loads already. I was going to weigh on Monday but am in the US for a week with work. Dreading it as its going to be continental (aka bread) for breakfast, working lunches (aka bread) and then heavy evening meals.

I have MFP on my phone now which is a huuuuuuuge help to working out where all those nasty calories come from (I'm looking at you stick of cheese).

LapCatLicker · 10/05/2017 22:25

What's in your fajitas babyelephant? That sounds lovely. I had coconut carrot lentil soup with cheese on toast. And no biscuits!!

Ellieboolou27 · 11/05/2017 07:05

Morning all.
I have a confession..... on the way home from confrence last night, myself and colleague went to a drive through KFC at 10pm and I ordered and ate a zinger burger, fries and Coke Blush
Back on track today, determined, however the greed monster reared its ugly head last night and beat me.

likeababyelephant · 11/05/2017 09:17

Lap

Coconut carrot lentil soup- I need to try!

For the fajitas
-red pepper
-yellow pepper
-white onion
-clove garlic
-chicken breast

Seasoning; tbsp chilli powder, tsp cayenne pepper, tsp cumin, tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp garlic powder and salt and pepper to taste

For salsa; 10 cherry toms, 1/4 red onion, clove garlic, dash white wine vinegar and few fresh coriander leaves

Simple to make. Put veg, chicken and seasoning in pan on high heat and cook for 10 mins.

Simply whizz salsa ingredients in chopper or blender.

I added lettuce to my fajitas and I also gave a squeeze of lime juice on the fajita mix.

Next time I think I'll leave out the tortillas.

likeababyelephant · 11/05/2017 09:18

Ellie if it's any consolation, I ate 2 of DDs yogurts on a late night binge. Thank god I stopped at 2

StarHeartDiamond · 11/05/2017 09:22

Ellie - I ate a curly wurly and five crackers with dairylea at 11pm last night. There must have been something in the air! I should have gone to bed earlier but stayed up to watch some nonsense and found myself with snack craving. It could have been worse though, there were more curly wurlies in the cupboard... (eyes them up)

Designerenvy · 11/05/2017 09:33

I find the night time the worst when the kids are in bed and I'm watching TV. I have a mini bar/ mini malteesers every night with a cuppa....not sure if it's allowed Hmm but it gets me through the day thinking about it ..lol !
Don't worry about laSt night, it's behind you, start fresh today.
My mood is very up and down at the moment. Anyone else the same? One day I'm in great for and full of energy , the next I'm wrecked and like a psycho !
Elephant, I'm definitely going to try those fajitas!
