2 stone in 37 days

iloveruby · 26/04/2017 20:22

Right. I have been trying to loose weight for the last 2 - 3 years now. When I started trying I was 11.5 and now I am 13.9

In 37 days I am going away on holiday - activity holiday not relaxing - and I really, really need to be slimmer.

So this is my goal, no more gently does it because clearly that doesn't work. I am going to have to be brutal with myself and need you guys to be brutal with me as well to keep me on track.

So it starts tomorrow with scrambled eggs on 1 slice of toast for breakfast. I'll do a HIT workout, walk the dog twice and ride my horse. Not sure what I'll have to eat for the rest of the day.

Really need your encouragement with this! I'll check in every day and let you guys know how I am getting on.....(hollow laugh....)

I tend to binge exercise, I'll hit it hard for a couple of months then do nothing, I just need to keep momentum this time!

Well done on the biscuit battle, I have had to stop buying DDs favourites as they are also my favorites and I just can't resist a gold bar or 3!

Lostwithinthehills · 09/05/2017 06:50

Before I had my DD I used to be pretty committed to exercising but I'm having trouble making the space and re-creating the habit at the moment. I hope you manage to stick with it past the first few months.

I'm 2lbs up this morning - I have to believe in my 'general trend' now.

glenthebattleostrich · 09/05/2017 09:01

Half a pound up today, but AF is due I think.

I've just eaten cheese crisps (from BSD book) but don't think you're supposed to eat the whole tray with some ham :(. Need to pull it back for the rest of today.

SpaghettiMeatballs · 09/05/2017 22:05

I was 0.5lb down today which pleased me as the scales hadn't shifted for days.

Very good eating day today as I ended up on 950 calories. I worked from home though so I barely moved out of my chair.

Lostwithinthehills · 10/05/2017 07:12

Well I'm feeling rather sorry for myself today. I ate quite a lot yesterday because I had been feeling hungry for a couple of days and I was fed up with battling to ignore it. Today the scales tell me I am back to the weight I guesstimated that I started at two weeks ago. So two weeks of trying really hard to cut my calorie intake has got me no where.

I'm not going to give up, I'm going to try again today, but it feels a bit pointless this morning. My earlier posts feel ridiculously optimistic now!

Lostwithinthehills · 10/05/2017 07:14

To make matters worse my dh has lost about 5lbs in two days of dieting.

KRG13 · 10/05/2017 07:24

Don't get disheartened Lost.

Easier said than done I know, what helps me is to stay right away from the scales for as long as possible- my head knows that logically it is completely normal for weight to fluctuate by several pounds day to day, but when I see those numbers, I panic! So weighing every other weekend or so, suits me better because then I see the general downward trend .

Are you following a specific 'plan'?

So 0.8 kg off in the last fortnight which sounds tiny, but it's 7 point summat kilos off since the start of March and I'm in size 10 jeans. Admittedly vanity sizing at its worst as I wouldn't get near a 12 still in most clothes, but still classing it as a win

Lostwithinthehills · 10/05/2017 16:47

Thanks KRG, I have managed to not give up and keep trying today.

I'm not following any plan at the moment, I'm aiming for around 1000 calories a day, probably coming in at around 1200 most days. I wanted to get a few lbs shifted quickly this month.

I'm signed up to the Hairy Dieters Diet Club, it I'm not following it at the moment. I like the look of it, calorie counting, meal plans and recipes, online support and I like their jolly persona. Once my event on 31st passes I will revert to their plan and try and lose weight a bit more slowly and steadily.

I'm going to come in at around 1200 calories today. Roast chicken with vegetables but no potatoes for dinner tonight.

glenthebattleostrich · 12/05/2017 19:26

Hello everyone

How has the rest of your week been? I've managed a couple of 800 kcal days, but had beer and crisps yesterday (well at 1am after I got home!)

Managed a couple of runs and an exercise class through the week so pleased with that.

Looking for bits to keep me active over the weekend with DD.

Planning to run at 7:30 tomorrow morning and again on Sunday night. Also booked an exercise class for Wednesday evening. And DH looked at me and told me I looked less chunky this morning (high praise indeed from him!)

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Lostwithinthehills · 12/05/2017 21:51

Hello. I'm glad to say that my weight fluctuation has sorted itself out and was about half a stone lighter today than I was on Wednesday! I've been taught my own lesson about looking at the trend.

I've had around 1000 calories today. If I stick with it I might actually have lost a stone by 31st May.

Keep up the good work glen!

glenthebattleostrich · 13/05/2017 14:49

Glad you've got it sorted lost.

OnePlanOnHouzz · 13/05/2017 15:54

I've been mad busy all week - but managed to keep most of it off !

2 stone in 37 days
glenthebattleostrich · 14/05/2017 11:11

Well done one.

Weight hasn't moved this week but inches are dropping and I wore jeans I couldn't fit into a few weeks ago so I can live with the scales not moving.

glenthebattleostrich · 15/05/2017 06:50

Woo hoo, I'm down into the 13s! Only just but I'm there!

Feeling very pleased (you might have noticed). I did proper low carb all weekend, followed the boot camp light rules so very happy. Also did 16000 steps yesterday as took DD to park run and trampolining.

A rest day today, just some ab and arm work later, bit will be keeping to low carb 16:8.

glenthebattleostrich · 15/05/2017 12:19

@iloveruby how are you getting on?

Procrastination4 · 15/05/2017 18:27

glenthebattleostrich
I was wondering the very same thing as I was watching this thread with interest to see if iloveruby would manage it. I could never lose that amount of weight so quickly but I know some people lose astonishing amounts in a relatively short time. I think iloverubuy managed to lose 3lbs in 6 days. It would take me three weeks to lose 3lbs. Hopefully she'll keep update the thread soon.

Procrastination4 · 15/05/2017 18:28

A rogue "keep" there!

glenthebattleostrich · 16/05/2017 06:16

Hopefully someone will come back soon!!!

A really good day yesterday, hit all my targets so very happy. It paid off as I'm not 13 st 11.4 lb. Very pleased considering a month ago I was 14 st 7.8 according to my diary.

Procrastination4 · 16/05/2017 06:44

Congratulations on that weight loss! That's an average of 2lbs per week, which is fantastic for a lb-per-week person like me. Smile

glenthebattleostrich · 16/05/2017 08:56

Thanks Procrastination4.

I'm very pleased and instead of thinking wayhay, treat time I'm really motivated to keep going.

If I keep up the exercise and eating and water then there is no reason that I can't have lost a stone by the end of May.

The best bit is that my DD is wanting to come for long walks with me to be fit and strong like mummy and if I can start her good habits now then hopefully she won't be me in 30 years.

Lostwithinthehills · 16/05/2017 11:26

According to my scales I dropped around 3lbs between Saturday and yesterday. I don't know what I am today because my scales are electronic and keep having a 'moment', getting trapped on some strange mode that I don't know how to reset. If I were to believe them today I would be 6st 8lb!!

Yesterday I managed to resist buying a couple of those Cadbury's Amazebites tubs. I LOVE them and could have easily eaten both in one go. I told myself I can celebrate with them after my event on 31st before I continue to try to shift the rest of my weight. I have also managed to resist the Cadbury Fingers my DD wanted to buy.

Keep up the good work everyone!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 16/05/2017 11:48

Hi to all you on the Blood sugar diet- please come by and check in on our thread in the 5:2 section- if you're doing well, we need you. If you're struggling, you need us!! Everyone welcome.

glenthebattleostrich · 31/05/2017 06:33

I know this thread died but thought I'd do a last update. I lost 1 stone. A whole full one :). Really pleased and totally motivated to get rid of the other 3.5 stones I need to shift, with a big chunk coming off over the next 9 weeks of boot camp.

Fortysix · 31/05/2017 10:19

That's impressive Glen. Clever you.

Mudmagnetoftheworld · 01/06/2017 16:37

Well I'm now 13st 12, so 8lb down in 5wks. Not brilliant but it's coming off, so I'm sticking with it.

Well done to all of you making progress
