2 stone in 37 days

Right. I have been trying to loose weight for the last 2 - 3 years now. When I started trying I was 11.5 and now I am 13.9

In 37 days I am going away on holiday - activity holiday not relaxing - and I really, really need to be slimmer.

So this is my goal, no more gently does it because clearly that doesn't work. I am going to have to be brutal with myself and need you guys to be brutal with me as well to keep me on track.

So it starts tomorrow with scrambled eggs on 1 slice of toast for breakfast. I'll do a HIT workout, walk the dog twice and ride my horse. Not sure what I'll have to eat for the rest of the day.

Really need your encouragement with this! I'll check in every day and let you guys know how I am getting on.....(hollow laugh....)

Morning everyone,

Stuck to 16:8 yesterday, only ate 3 small things at the BBQ as was to busy sorting everyone else out. Unfortunately, far to much cider was consumed so 1.5lb back on.

Starting dry may today. The money I'd normally spend is going into my Disney fund. I'm determined to need gorgeous new clothes for it.

I'm starting to put together a Pinterest board especially for my planned wardrobe. It's a good distraction!!

I'm aiming for a low calorie day today too to prepare for starting the blood sugar diet. I'm starting with 2 800cal days per week, adding in more each week with June being an 800 cal month.

SpaghettiMeatballs · 01/05/2017 08:48

I know what you mean lostwithinthehills I'm not convinced of the need to drink 3 litres a day or whatever it is they say. It ignores the volume of water gained from food and as you say I'm not sure of the science.

That said I know having my entire daily fluid intake from coffee and tea isn't healthy either so I'm aiming for somewhere in the middle!

KRG13 · 01/05/2017 10:06

Ach DutchMummy I've had the same thoughts- but I don't weigh myself often so I just blunder on in blissful ignorance mainly.
I've lost a stone or so since Feb but can genuinely say I can't see or feel ANY difference (which is staggering considering I'm a short arse) so maybe my scales were screwed Hmm

Anyhoo, yes I think I will also do Dry May as wine is clearly my downfall looking at this past weekend Blush

I know we are all trying to boost our weight loss but a whole month on 800 cals does not sound good at all. I think 1200 is the minimum to aim for? Two 800 cal days a week or less I have heard of and even then the rest of the week is closer to 2000 a day, but not a whole month on calorie restriction.

I had an ok ish day yesterday and a good start to today so here's hoping for more good news on the scales in the coming days.

InfinityPlusOne · 01/05/2017 13:43

Oh hang on I've just realised it's the blood sugar diet you are talking about. Is it not really hard to do so much time on so little calories? I think I'd really struggle although I imagine the weight loss are significant. Can they be sustained though?

iloveruby · 01/05/2017 13:54

Yep, wine and cider is my downfall too (as well as cheese, chocolate, crisps etc.....)

In fact maybe if I did the no-C diet I might see some improvement Grin

I'm also seeing a therapist about my relationship with food (and other things....)and one of the first things she said is that while of course the root issue to over eating etc is emotional, if you dont stabilise your blood sugar then you dont stand a chance!

Is anybody following a particular plan or diet to address blood sugar?

Anyway, I lost another 1lb today so am down to 13.6

Hope everyone else is doing ok?

Well I'm coming in at 950 calories today and I've eaten well.

Had bacon and tomatoes for lunch and am having pork loin and salad for tea.

My biggest challenge will be cutting back on tea, just over 1/3 of my calories have been drunk in tea today, or at least the cream I add to it. I've switched to mint tea for today and am going to cut down gradually until I'm on mostly green tea.

Well done on the loss ilove.

I'm reading the blood sugar diet and adopting the principles in there. Bought the recipe book last week and have meal planned for this week. Here's to a good week for everyone

DutchMummy88 · 01/05/2017 19:35

12.3 this morning. It's going down!
KRG I'm going to give Dry May a shot too, I've noticed I'm starting to drink a bit too much and it's no good. Also fairly sure it could be what I need to really get the weight down.
Didn't manage my 16:8 today but I think that's because I was a little bit hungover and really needed some food this morning. Still ate healthily though. I will be back on track tomorrow as I actually quite like the fast in the morning. Makes me realise how much food I could have already eaten without really thinking about it in that time.
Very happy to see we are all still trying!
1 week done: 12.7 -> 12.3 Yay!

SpaghettiMeatballs · 02/05/2017 07:58

Ooo! 1.5lb down so 2.5lb overall!

DutchMummy88 · 02/05/2017 08:07

Amazing Spagetti! !

My aim is to be at 11.9 by Sunday. Going to try and go for a run this evening and Thursday after work.

Although I've lost some weight, I don't think I look any smaller at all. I've always had quite a flat stomach (and a massive butt) but after 2 kids in 2 years it's sad situation. So floppy, blurgh!

glenthebattleostrich · 03/05/2017 07:48

Morning everyone

How are we all doing today? Well done on the losses so far?

I weighed in at 14 2 exactly this morning, which is a loss off 4lb since I started I think. I'd really like another 3 by Friday if possible, I'm having about 1100 calories a day so fingers crossed between that and jump combat and yoga I'll see a happy number on Friday morning!!!

glenthebattleostrich · 03/05/2017 07:49

1.8 down since I logged on here but 4 since I logged in my diary IYSWIM

SpaghettiMeatballs · 03/05/2017 08:07

Thanks Dutch. No one is more surprised than me! Another 0.5 this morning so 3lb overall.

DH is away with work for a few weeks which is really helping with 16:8. I have lunch at 12 and I've been going upstairs at 8pm with my iPad and book. Once I'm up there the temptation for a 9pm chocolate bar and cup of tea is gone. I hate cooking for myself when he's away so an M&S Balanced for You meal or a big salad seems ideal.

Kim82 · 03/05/2017 08:21

Can I join please? I think I'm just going to go for low calorie and log my food on my fitness pal. I'm not sure exactly how much I weigh (I need to put some new batteries in my scales which I'll do later) but it was my wedding anniversary yesterday and I have put on roughly 4 stone in the 8 years we've been married and I think now is the time to do something about it.

I'll start from lunchtime today and will have a massive, leafy tuna salad I think. You've all done so well so far and it has spurred me on to get off my arse and do something about my weight so thank you.

DutchMummy88 · 03/05/2017 12:28

Brilliant, I just had a McDonald's Blush
I was in town with the baby who all of a sudden got super hungry and I got a bit flustered and ended up in maccie d's
What a twat!
Maybe if I just drink water for the rest of the day it can still be salvaged...

DutchMummy88 · 03/05/2017 13:34

Just realised that sounds like I gave the baby a McDonald's... I meant I went there so I could sit down and make a bottle haha

Mudmagnetoftheworld · 03/05/2017 14:41

I'm back.
I slipped up over the weekend while we were visiting friends and then a pub lunch on Monday!
Weight went back up, but now down again to 14st 4.

Am reading the blood sugar diet...I think this could work but wondered if it would still work if I had weekends off. Still being careful obviously, but not quite as strict.

Mudmagnetoftheworld · 04/05/2017 18:13

Where's everyone gone?Sad

Lost 2 more at weigh in this morning...really need to keep on track now.

SpaghettiMeatballs · 04/05/2017 18:14

mudmagnet I think you'd just lose weight slower if you did that?

The only thing I'd say from experience or low carb diets is that it's hard to kick carbs and you need to be in a bit of a zone with it. It might make it harder to stick to if you had carbs at the weekend.

SpaghettiMeatballs · 04/05/2017 18:16

X post! I'm here! Have stuck to it. Still at 3lb this morning although the scales momentarily thought about going down by another 0.5lb so fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Salad for lunch with gorgeous M&S prepared chicken. Kiwi and a slice of cheese later afternoon and I've got an M&S meal for dinner once I get my DCs to bed.

OnePlanOnHouzz · 04/05/2017 20:13

I'm here -just been really busy working - took a screenshot of my progress earlier - this is the first spare moment to actually post it ! Lol !

OnePlanOnHouzz · 04/05/2017 20:15

Lost almost 6 lbs ! Am sure lists of that is down to being too busy to stop to eat !!

KRG13 · 05/05/2017 06:55

Well done losers!

I might weigh myself tomorrow, although...might hold on til Monday.

If I weigh and the scales don't show a great result, I tend to go on a downer and think stuff it.

I'm not much better if I get a good result tbh, I think I can eat like a slim person Grin

My jeans are fresh out of the wash this morning and don't feel horribly tight so I think that's a good sign. But I'm on the train now and realised that my lovingly prepared breakfast smoothie is sitting on the kitchen counter. Gah

Lostwithinthehills · 05/05/2017 13:22

Hi everyone. I finally have some batteries in my scales, I plan to weigh myself tomorrow, although I'm not sure I am brave enough to know my weight! It could be worse than I think. I have had a few days where I haven't been able to be as strict as I wanted / have allowed myself to be led astray by my dh (garlic bread I'm thinking of you!) but over all I have managed to continue to eat less than normal and stay away from the cake and chocolate. I still need to start an exercise programme, I have 30 Day Shred on DVD so I don't have a really good excuse for not exercising. I am on track with my meals so far today, although I am not sure about my evening meal. I am thinking of a roast chicken breast and asparagus. I am tempted to wrap the breast in bacon but I know I'd be better off just adding some shake on flavoured seasoning.

glenthebattleostrich · 05/05/2017 19:39

Hello

Well done everyone who's lost.

I'm a daily weigher and so far the scales have been creeping down bit by bit.

I've been more relaxed today as I was just to chilled out after an amazing massage but I did go for a swim and I'll be running at 8 am tomorrow.

The weekend is definitely proving a challenge, I'm usually halfway down my first glass of something delicious and I just can't get excited about water with ice and lemon. I might push the boat out for the next one and go for some lime!! Or a mint tea, decisions, decisions...
