2 stone in 37 days

Right. I have been trying to loose weight for the last 2 - 3 years now. When I started trying I was 11.5 and now I am 13.9

In 37 days I am going away on holiday - activity holiday not relaxing - and I really, really need to be slimmer.

So this is my goal, no more gently does it because clearly that doesn't work. I am going to have to be brutal with myself and need you guys to be brutal with me as well to keep me on track.

So it starts tomorrow with scrambled eggs on 1 slice of toast for breakfast. I'll do a HIT workout, walk the dog twice and ride my horse. Not sure what I'll have to eat for the rest of the day.

Really need your encouragement with this! I'll check in every day and let you guys know how I am getting on.....(hollow laugh....)

I found this book already on my Kindle, bought in Feb and not looked at. Started reading it last night and have ordered the recipe book so i can start it. It just makes so much sense.

Oblomov17 · 27/04/2017 07:00

What is the shitter tea, of which you speak shit?

DutchMummy88 · 27/04/2017 07:20

Going to weigh myself in a bit when I get ready for work... I better have lost some weight. Once it stops going down or even up the smallest bit I get so demotivated and end up massively stuffing my face in one big depressing session Hmm
First day back at work today after maternity leave... I work in a cafe that focusses on vegetarian/vegan lunches so that should be fine. They do sell the scrummiest bread ever though! I CAN DO THIS!

Lostwithinthehills · 27/04/2017 07:57

I would be so happy if I could lose 21lbs in 30 days! My experiences are so similar to so much of what has been written here. I have put on one and a half stones in addition to the starting weight that I wanted to lose a stone from. The open door description is so true for me. I began yesterday by trying to be very strict with my food intake and I managed okay - except a handful of Easter mini eggs found their way into my mouth. I've woken up this morning not feeling particularly hungry so I'm hopeful that I can swerve the chocolate today. I have some clothes that I really need to fit into at the end of May, I was two stone lighter when they last fitted.

Morning all.
Weighed in at 14st 3, so that's 3lb down. Not holding my breath as it'll probably go back up again in a few days!
Perhaps we should post on here before giving in to any cravings so we can give each other a good slap.

DutchMummy88 · 27/04/2017 08:30

1.1lbs down this morning. I normally count in kg so for me that was the difference between going from 80.3 to 79.8! Out of the 80's and in to the 70's, feeling very motivated Smile
Good luck today everyone, keep that door shut!!!

InfinityPlusOne · 27/04/2017 08:33

Not ready to post my weight as too embarrassed, but I like the idea of this. I have a wedding of college friends at the end of June and I don't want to go the way I look now. So I have to knuckle down and get serious with this.

I like the idea of this blood sugar diet, I'll have to go find out some more about that. I'm a total apple shape as I carry a lot of my weight around my middle which is the worst place to have it for your health. It doesn't help that I have digestive issues that make me look 6 months pregnant most of the time.

Was rushing around this morning and haven't had anything to eat yet so I'll go with the 11-7 idea and try cutting down carbs.

InfinityPlusOne · 27/04/2017 08:35

I'm a size 16-18 at the moment. A 14 would be great, a 12 seems an impossible dream (not by the wedding just in general).

Junebugjr · 27/04/2017 08:47

Oblomov - it's called Slimmatee and its from Holland and Barrett.
Only have one cup a day though in the night, otherwise it'll scour you from oesophagus to the other end, it's like scorched earth.
Tmi alert but I suffer terribly on a low carb with constipation, but this sorts it out.
Have so far lost about a stone on a mixture of calorie counting and Blood sugar diet.
Another stone to go to get into my summer gear.
Well done on losses, am weighing on Saturday

OnePlanOnHouzz · 27/04/2017 08:54

Hi ! Wow ! Some great tips here !! Can I join too please ?? I've been steadily increasing weight over the last couple of years -need to get it off again !
I started actively trying to loose weight on Monday - not sure I will keep this rate up as mad busy with work so not able to do as much phyzz as I'd like ... I have 12.9lbs to go - but really want it to stay off !!!

glenthebattleostrich · 27/04/2017 09:09

When i weighed in this morning i was 14 stone 3.8 lb.

I'm doing ok with 16:8 today, it's the first day I've not woken up starving so hopefully the corner is being turned.

I'm aiming for a 1200 cal low carb day with 12000 steps min.

InfinityPlusOne · 27/04/2017 10:21

I assume the 11-7 or 12-8 idea is 'nil by mouth' outside of those hours, except perhaps water? I did have a few rushed mouthfuls of tea this morning so today won't work from that point of view but I can start properly tomorrow.

Do most people following this pattern just two meals - lunch and dinner?

Oblomov17 · 27/04/2017 12:44

Thank you June Grin
I have been on the Blood sugar diet thread for some time. I don't seem to get the constipation that others get. And I don't fancy the stomach cramps and the squits!! But I will bear it in mind, if I get desperate.

Laughsandgiggles · 27/04/2017 12:56

I'd like to join in too please. Put on 3 stone in 2 years (after loosing 2 stone) following a broken collarbone and then a stressful house move (still ongoing) Now nearly 14st. Not good.
I'm fairly active as work with horses and dogs but even doing average 18000 steps a day I'm still putting weight on which says a lot about my diet.
Off to look at BSD and others mentioned.
Weigh in today - 13st 12llbs

DutchMummy88 · 27/04/2017 14:10

Finally having my lunch! So far so good. Trying to keep away from the lovely bread and cakes we sell at work...
I'm so surprised that not eating actually makes you less hungry!

SpaghettiMeatballs · 27/04/2017 15:51

Having posted on this thread last night I did manage to make it to 12 before eating albeit I had a coffee. Like people who say they can't do without a glass of wine I cannot go 16 hours without a coffee!

I've had a ham salad, Greek yoghurt and a few grapes. I don't even know what I'm doing because I'm sure you're not allowed fruit on these low carb diets.

InfinityPlusOne · 27/04/2017 16:32

Thats an interesting looking plate of food DutchMummy what are the brown things on the right hand side- they look like giant cinnamon sticks but I'm fairly sore that isn't right!

So far today I didn't actually eat until almost 1 o'clock (not intentionally, just busy at work) and because I hadn't prepped for starting anything today I had a low cal tuna wrap and some tomato soup. I've also had a lot more water than usual and few cups of tea. It's a start anyway.

Would be great if those more experienced with this way of eating could provide a few tips re what they eat on an average day etc?

InfinityPlusOne · 27/04/2017 16:33
  • fairly sure Grin
iloveruby · 28/04/2017 08:34

@InfinityPlusOne - I think they are veggie sausages?!

How is everyone doing today? I've lost 1lb so am down to 13.7

Yesterday was good - although I always find the evenings the hardest. Last night I felt so unsatisfied! After dinner it was like I was missing something...... I'm sure a big tub of icecream would have sorted it!
But, I held out (smug face).

How is everyone else doing?!

InfinityPlusOne · 28/04/2017 10:47

I'm doing ok. Slightly hungry but nothing unmanageable and it's almost 11 anyway. Last night was fine. Had dinner before 7 and was quite full after it. Took myself to bed earlyish to avoid any temptation to snack.

glenthebattleostrich · 28/04/2017 10:48

Morning,

Day 5 of 16:8.

I've been for a run this morning and done an exercise video. Need to walk to the shops to buy tea for the kids bit will grab a shower first I think.

Food is good, m sticking to my eating window and mostly low carb. No crisps or chocolate for a week so very pleased.

Well done on the loss.

Lostwithinthehills · 28/04/2017 11:46

I snacked on fat free cottage cheese, a small bag of twiglets and two mini eggs yesterday, so a bit of progress on the chocolate front. Maybe I can resist them today? I wasn't planning on eating the twiglets or cottage cheese but hopefully they won't cost me too much. I'd like to think that I will get used to my very small meals soon so won't feel so much like snacking. I need to put some batteries in my scales! I'd like to start making time for some exercise soon too.

iloveruby · 28/04/2017 12:35

@InfinityPlusOne - well done for not snacking last night, going to bed early is definitely a good call! I might try that tonight...

@glenthebattleostrich - Shock amazing on the exercise! Which exercise video was it? I'm about to take the dog out - does that count....Grin

Am also very impressed with the no chocolate or crisps - have you replaced them with anything or just gone cold turkey??

@lostinthehills I'm sure the snacks won't have made a difference especially as they were healthy! And I'm impressed that you managed to stop at 2 mini eggs - I would have eaten the whole bag....let me know how you get on today
