Anyone want to start a diet tomorrow?

Well, I went out with friends on Saturday for a posh afternoon tea at a hotel. I didn't eat as much as I normally would but did have one scone and a couple of finger sandwiches. I didn't have any dinner when I got home though. But not exactly low carb! I did run 5k on Saturday morning befire I went and I did a 20 mile bike ride on Sunday morning in an effort to make up for it.

I've been fairly good the rest of the week but haven't lost a pound Sad. I think I need to be much more disciplined. It's very depressing.

My meals yesterday were:
B - 2 hard boiled eggs
L - cheese salad (grated cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber). 1 tbs dressing.
D - grilled chicken, aubergines and courgettes

I went to the gym for 2 hours in the evening and after that I had a small pot of natural yoghurt with a handful of blueberries.

I plan to cycle to work tomorrow - 11 miles each way. I'm also booked into 2 x 1 hour classes this evening at the gym. Hopefully it will all start to shift again. I did well losing weight last year but this year it just won't budge. So frustrating.

We'll done to everyone who has lost weight though.

Morning all! Forgot to check in for the last few days but still mostly sticking to the diet. I'm 4lb down in my first week which I'm pleased with, I had a curry on Friday night but I needed it to be able to carry on!
Today's meals are
B- Greek yoghurt with raspberries
L- egg mayo salad
D - gammon steak, egg and green veg
Remarkably I'm not constantly hungry like I was when I was doing SW and not feeling the need to snack so definitely feeling in the zone although I'd still kill for some crumpets!

pinkieandperkie · 04/04/2017 14:28

Checking in.

Just made dh an egg and bacon sandwich on fresh bread with loads of butter. I watched him eat every mouthful. What I wouldn't give!

exhaustedtwinmummy · 05/04/2017 07:14

Well. That did not go well. Have always had Wednesday as weigh-in day so have weighed this morning and...put on a pound Confused Now the most difficult part of not comfort eating after disappointment.
Well done everyone who's done brilliantly this week. Some good losses!

Steala · 05/04/2017 08:55

Don't be down-hearted, exhausted, it happens. It's probably natural fluctuations and next week will be a lovely big loss but before I started this thread, I thought I was being good but was still gaining. MFP told me how little I can actually eat and I lost nearly two pounds overnight due to the sheer weight of food that had been in my system. I don't know what plan you are following but my idea of portion size was way way off. I think because so many of us are onerweight nowadays, what seems normal or even slightly under will make us gain.
But like I said, could easily be natural fluctuation. Maybe weigh tomorrow to reassure yourself?

exhaustedtwinmummy · 05/04/2017 15:23

Thanks Steala Calorie counting so general portion size is ok but will try not to lose focus and keep going. Need to exercise more too.

DejaVuDieter · 06/04/2017 06:15

I'm having a good week with food but not managing much exercise. I probably won't get a chance to do any tonight as have an architect coming around but if there's time I'll try to get out and run. How's everyone else doing? It's quite quiet on here this week.

My meal plan is:

Breakfast: Greek yogurt with protein powder and strawberries

Lunch: leftover chicken stir fry and rice

Snack: Bounce ball

Dinner: ???

Have a great day everyone!

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 06/04/2017 07:07

Deja what is a bounce ball? Sounds intriguing!

Yesterday I ate:
B = hardboiled egg and slice of ham
L = tuna salad
D =:chicken with courgettes, peppers and tomatoes
S (after gym session) = low call ice cream and blueberries

I cycled to work (about 11 miles each way) and then did a HIIT session at the gym in the evening so hopefully burned off lots of calories. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that when I weigh myself on Friday I'll have lost a pound.

Balonder · 06/04/2017 11:30

I put up a lb between Friday and Sunday (too much weighing, I know). The only difference was exercise as I kept to my way of eating over the weekend. I did my first kettlebells class though so I think it might have been muscles retaining water. Very disheartening though. Anyone else experience something similar?

Dollface7 · 06/04/2017 21:37

Ahhh balonder...you can put a pound up in 6 hours...and have it gone in another....it depends on water retention, hormones...etc. basically everything so ignore that pleeeeease... i think..... its even extra pressure on you then... exercise is good and that is the main thing isn't it...and you did a new class-so a new approach.... i hear people are frustrated with the lack of weight loss but still remember these changes have only been over a short period and you may not see the effect until another few days...we have all experienced that.... lots of food sharing... i nearly ate the tray of cupcakes off my screen when i saw them...but a computer screen would be less satisfying me thinks....please keep going everyone....approaching our next weekend-yes you read that correctly our "next" weekend...we are a lot better off than we were when we started... remember the sun quote!!!

OP posts:
Dollface7 · 06/04/2017 21:39

bounce ball: a protein mass....like coconut and macadamia ball....yum yum... is what i know them as....
Dejavu...i bet knows some really nice ones...based on food ideas alone!

Ds1 had a great parents everning (18 and struggling but all his teachers are very pleased with his improvement)

So we have celebrated Blush

I think i know what is causing me some issues though...so i am quite looking forward to confirming my theory next week

Jumpolining · 06/04/2017 21:50

Howdy! How's everyone doing? I'm not losing this week- I'm logging everything and under my calorie goal BUT too much bread. It just doesn't agree with me at all. Last week I felt great though weekend was more difficult- I defo went over Sat/Sun. But I'm still thinking 'If I was sunburnt would I think F*ck it and carry on frying in the sun? Noooooo, is try and limit the damage. It's definitely an analogy that resonated with me.

DejaVuDieter · 06/04/2017 22:04

Yes Bounce balls/bars are protein snacks. They have quite a bit of sugar and carbs in them but make a handy snack. I love the almond one and the cacao mint one.

Dinner was pizza and crudités with dip. I then ate one of those cupcakes after my run Blush Under my calorie count though so not going to beat myself up too much.

I'm off to London to see family tomorrow night so might struggle with food but will try and get a run in and will probably walk a lot.

Balonder · 06/04/2017 22:14

Thanks dollface, scales in the bin. Out with the measuring tape - would be delighted with some inch loss

poorpaws · 06/04/2017 22:19

Checking in and feeling positive.

Had an amazing meal last night. No alcohol, no starter but a TRIO of desserts, probably a billion calories!

Three hour walk and been busy today to make up for it a little.

Keep on keeping on everyone, weigh day soon.

exhaustedtwinmummy · 06/04/2017 22:44

Yes thanks Dollface. Didn't binge eat or drown my sorrows with wine so am hopefully back on it!!! Even jogged todaySmile

pinkieandperkie · 07/04/2017 12:36

I've been ill for four days and am now on antibiotics. Yesterday I ate whatever I felt like as I was feelings very sorry for myself.

Yesterday I ate

Large packet of kettle crisps for breakfast!
Four mini custard doughnuts
One small cadburys buttons Easter egg

Today I don't feel like eating as the antibiotics are making me feel a little sick.
