That's so true Jumpoling. There is something like that in the Louise Parker book. Along the lines of - you wouldn't have a few drinks, think "ah well" and then head off to Vegas on a bender as you might as well

Jumpolining · 29/03/2017 21:38

Balonder- yes, it was her book I read it in. Loving the psychology of her ideas.

Balonder · 29/03/2017 21:42

She's great, isn't she

NutButterNutter · 29/03/2017 22:11

Balonder and Jump that's just what I needed to read!! Great advice Smile

walruswhiskers · 29/03/2017 22:16

That snippet really switched something in my head when I read it.

glenthebattleostrich · 30/03/2017 06:38

Morning everyone.

Not had the chance to post this week. It's going well on food. I'm sticking to low carb and am exercising. Hitting between 12 and 13000 steps per day, did jump combat yesterday and because I'm back in ketosis i forgot to eat before hand so felt a bit unwell towards the end. Must have a snack next week and go kick arse.

I need to remember to drink more water. I'm rubbish. And replace some of my many many cups of tea with mint tea and green tea.

There will be wine tonight but will be running 2.5 miles and walking to the supermarket in the morning to make up it. I have lovelynuts and pork scratchings in for snacks too.

Food and exercise plan today is -

B - yogurt and chia seeds
L- cheese omlette with mixed leaves and cucumber
D - Bolognese

If i need a snack i have nuts, pork scratchings and left over pork from yesterday.

Going for a 2 mile walk and visiting a lovely park with some friends and kids this morning then quick HIIT video this evening before getting my nails done. Aiming for 13500 steps, while pushing a double buggy.

Have a fabulous day everyone.

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 30/03/2017 06:47

I have got a very long day today - an all day meeting 50 miles away but at least I won't be tempted to snack on something as I won't take anything with me apart from my lunch! I don't think I'll be home until 7pm and then I'm straight out again to my book group. So there will be no time for any exercise - I'll be either in my car, in meetings or at book group. And there will be wine and crisps at book group......

Tomorrow morning I've got a really early start - I've got a 7am meeting an hours drive away so will have to be up by 5.15 in order to get ready. We're out to dinner with friends in the evening so I will have to be careful about what I eat.

Does anyone else here work full time and find that some days these just no opportunity to exercise? I do try to do lots of gym classes but this week is a nightmare. I've only done three classes, hence why I cycled to work on Tuesday. But I'm not in my office for the rest of the week, I'm out and about.

walruswhiskers · 30/03/2017 08:36

Day off today after a v stressful and tiring week. Gonna treat myself with a breakfast out with my H in a bit.

Ooh and I've lost 2lbs since Monday. Well done to the rest of you - I'm in awe of the exercise some of you are doing!!

danTDM · 30/03/2017 08:39

Balonder your diet sounds absolutely fab for proper sustainable weightloss!

Mine is a quick fix! You're so right about keeping it up, I am worried the first plate of pasta or bit of bread and it'll be blown. I am hoping the big difference I am seeing will just prevent me from going back to eating all the carbs (at least over summer, anyway)

I would love to make my own bread. Grin

Balonder · 30/03/2017 11:18

Thanks danTDM I hope it is sustainable. I know with low carb if I slip and have bread or fruit I adopt a "may as well be hanged for a sheep as a lamb" attitude and crack out the chocolate so it doesn't work for me. I have a lovely brown soda recipe for when you start to reintroduce healthy carbs if you're interested. It's very easy
Have a lovely, relaxing day walrus

NutButterNutter · 30/03/2017 11:38

Paxman I work full time from home but have a 6 month old as my assistant, so between her, work, the other kids and bastard housework, it already seems to be bedtime before I can contemplate an exercise DVD. I am trying to up my walking, e.g. going an extra long way to school, finding excuses to need to go to the shops (walking) but I know I need to work in more than just walking. Anyone got the increase-hours-in-a-day machine?! Grin

Titsywoo · 30/03/2017 12:03

Morning all,

I'm still on track. Doing a lot of meal prepping for an hour on Monday helped a lot (I have lunches and 2 snacks a day prepped until Sunday). Managed to lose 3lbs in 2 days so was clearly hanging on to water weight! Today will be:-

B - Tuna and courgette fritters - 188 cals
L - Moroccan honey chicken with cous cous and broccoli - 570 cals
D - Chicken pie and lots of veg - 492 cals
Total - 1250 (not exercising today so no snacks)

Good luck all :)

Longji · 30/03/2017 13:51

Ooh Titsywoo how do you do your fritters? They sound nice.

I'm miserable today, don't feel like eating although I've forced myself to, I am craving bread but I'm determined not to give in!

Planning steak with peppercorn butter for tea, not sure what with it yet...

NewPuppyMum · 30/03/2017 15:43

Hi everyone. Everyone is doing so well.

I was shocked to have another pound off this morning. My Wii was bossy yesterday so I've had granary toast with strawberry and champagne jam on for breakfast and a salad wrap for a very late lunch. I've been out with the dog for over an hour, then errands to the tip and the supermarket. Home to paint the little loo then 30 minutes on the Wii.

mrszebrastripe · 30/03/2017 16:38

A good day for me so far. I'm doing16:8 and trying to eat only when hungry and stopping when no longer hungry.
B: Banana
L: Cheese and smoked salmon
D: Tuna pasta bake

Tonight I am doing a circuits class.
It's so good reading all your posts, it's really motivating to know I a not alone!

poorpaws · 30/03/2017 16:49

I Really struggled last night! I had a massive chicken stirfry but it just didn't fill me and so I was very tempted to chocolate and crisps. I did keep the chocolate down to 99 cal bars but I did have a packet of crisps and some mini cheddars which wasn't on my plan!

Unfortunately I am having stirfry again tonight to use up all the food I bought so I've got to be very careful. I'm also eating out tomorrow which I find difficult when trying to lose weight. I am going to try very very hard to say no to the desserts but they are the best bits aren't they.

I am very impressed with all your posts and will try to catch up. I did do a three hour dog walk today but it wasn't as good as it sounds because I think I stood talking for an hour of it 😂

phoenixtherabbit · 30/03/2017 21:30

Hello!

Haven't actually counted my calories today yet, but from prev experience I think I'm probably just about on target.

Had a crazy busy stressful day too so I'm impressed I have not reached for a giant chocolate bar like I did yesterday

Going to weigh in in the mornings don't think I'll have lost anything but won't be too bothered as long as I've not put on!

I'll prob end up having a cheat day as I do most some Friday's, but again I'm not being too strict because I'm quite close to other original target and I'd rather get down to new target slowly, rather than quickly but feeling deprived and moody. Plus once I get there if I'm feeling deprived il probably eat all the weight back on and I definitely don't want to do that!!

Dollface7 · 30/03/2017 21:41

well done everyone.... weight loss and healthy eating all around... Day 5 (already) tomorrow...go us!!!! :-))))))))))) didn't get to post...i've been too busy getting slim...kidding....everyone has either achieved what they set out to do or else made progress towards their 'ideal' days...it's a long way since last Sunday and it is a better way...so KEEP GOING...!!!

OP posts:
UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 30/03/2017 23:08

Today I have eaten:
B = egg and bacon
L = low carb bread with cheese spread
D = chicken with roasted veg (leftovers from.yeasterday)
Then I went to.book group and had a glass of white wine and a piece of cheese

Tomorrow we are out to dinner with friends so don't know how careful I can be. Dinner is a formal.black tie do so will probably involve carbs......Sad

NutButterNutter · 31/03/2017 13:50

Totally run out of food (aghhh to money woes) so muesli for brekkie and probably lentils for dinner. At least it'll be a low cal day, even if not low carb! Just waiting for the baby to wake up before we go for a nice long walk Smile

pinkieandperkie · 31/03/2017 16:16

Hello everyone

Day 5 today and I am still on track, hope that you are all doing ok. I'm drinking loads of water but the downside to that is the constant need for a wee. I have had a headache for the first four days but today it has finally gone so feel loads better. I've kept off the chocolate, cakes, biscuits, bread, pasta and rice which is quite miraculous for me.

goingonabearhunt1 · 31/03/2017 17:07

Hi, can I join?

I gave in and had some crisps this afternoon. The afternoons at work just seem to drag so much sometimes, its hard to not eat anything from lunch till dinner. They were low calorie crisps but still.

So today I've had:

B Muesli/Yoghurt
L Salad, small amount of feta and 3 small falafels that my DP made
S Bag of crisps
D Paneer Tika Masala (we're going out for a meal and I've already looked at the menu online)

I will try and not drink a ridiculous amount of wine tonight then I will not be too far over my calorie aim for the day.

poorpaws · 31/03/2017 19:54

Well done to all of us.

I went to preschool Easter concert and won an Easter egg in the tombola. They were selling the most delicious cupcakes I think I've ever seen and the lady next to me bought no end and Sat with a boxful open on her knee right next to me, they smelled divine but I didn't buy any.

I went out for lunch later and I think it must be the first time in my entire life that I didn't have dessert. After an early lunch I ended up in Marks & Spencer's cafe later in the afternoon and just had a diet Coke. I love their cakes but I didn't even look at them!! 😇

If I don't lose at least 1 pound this week I'm not playing any more.

Well done to everyone so far. Not long to weighin.

phoenixtherabbit · 31/03/2017 21:42

Weighed in today, I'm now 10st 6lb 8oz and so I'm under my original target of 10st 7! Think new target is 10st. Think I'll look silly anything under that.

Main goal is to tone up now. Starting 30 day squat challenge tomorrow. Wish me luck 💪

Well done everyone!

exhaustedtwinmummy · 01/04/2017 06:54

Have had the most stressful week and have not been great the last few days and now I have two weeks off. School holidays are always worse for me (it's so much easier to be good when you're too busy at work to think about food!) Trying to stay positive and plan ahead. Well done everyone...sounds like some very focused people!!
