NutButterNutter · 29/03/2017 08:47

Forgot to check in yesterday! Was ok but phone in bag hanging on pushchair = long walk not recorded booooo. On with today!! Brew

pinkieandperkie · 29/03/2017 10:08

Just checking in. Day three today.

I hope everyone's doing ok. I've had a headache all night which is sugar withdrawal so not feeling great but I'm still motivated.

Good luck all. Smile

danTDM · 29/03/2017 10:29

Longii and all those doing well on low carb don't forget to drink loads and loads of water! I don't think I drank enough yesterday.

I enjoyed low carb too at the start. Week two I am sick of the food. I might make the cauliflower cheese recipe I found to ring the changes!

phoenixtherabbit · 29/03/2017 10:35

Well I've eaten a chocolate biscuit and had a glass of milkshake this morning and it's only 10:34. Just not feeling it today at all! I'll still have a healthy lunch and tea, though.

I'm only 1lb away from my original target so I'm probably just lacking motivation.

Longji · 29/03/2017 11:03

Thanks Dantdm, I've been drinking about 2l a day so far. Have had 2 boiled eggs this morning and am not even hungry which is a revelation. Sneaky weigh in showed 2lb down but I had just had a wee so may not be accurate.

danTDM · 29/03/2017 16:40

It will be accurate Longii. The weight loss in the first week is amazing. Great for the 2l h2o. The more you drink the more you lose weight and you stop weeing after a few days!!Grin

Yes, boiled eggs are my go to. Always have some in the fridge for emergencies!!

You will be soooooo sick of eggs soon. You must eat a bit even if not hungry. I currently am feeling distinctly queasy!

I am planning on one more week then letting up a little bit.
No wine, only ginGrin and zero carb tonic.

NutButterNutter · 29/03/2017 17:22

Totally fell off the low carb wagon this afternoon after failing to go shopping and have nothing in the house Sad Trying to stay positive and stick to low cal instead until payday and shopping. Halo

Chicoletta357 · 29/03/2017 17:35

Please can I join? 2 stone to lose and joined the gym today! Going to do SlimFast for breakfast and then two normal low carb meals. I've also realised I hardly drink any water and so aiming to do that! Good luck everybody!

RufusTheRenegadeReindeer · 29/03/2017 18:09

I have reported as well

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 29/03/2017 18:15

So far today I have eaten:
B = hard boiled egg with mayo andslice of ham (thick slice from the butcher not prepacked)

L = cold chicken, 5 cherry tomatoes, salad leaves, walnuts

Snack = small piece of strong cheddar

Just got dinner in the oven - chicken with roasted courgettes and aubergines.

I'm off to a gym class at 8pm.

I cycled to work yesterday for the first time - 22 mile round trip. Took me almost an hour each way but I managed it.

danTDM · 29/03/2017 18:25

usedtobe amazing effort there. Puts me to shame.

Me today

FF yog
few almonds
beef and veg chili no rice obvs
bit of cheddar
courgetini with garlic, chili flakes and cherry toms.
G&T
1 l h2o must drink more before bed.

Balonder · 29/03/2017 18:51

Wow used to be sounds great. I love seeing what others are eating as I can end up eating the same breakfast/lunch/snacks day after day when I am trying to eat healthily. It's great to get ideas
So today . . . B - apple bircher
S - pear and almonds
L - sourdough with ham and cheese
S - green smoothie
D - have made a 6 veg sauce to have with pasta. I can't go wheatfree but I think my problem is sugar anyway.
DD has athletics this evening so I will drop her and have arranged to go for a run with a friend whose daughter is in same group as DD while it's on. It will be after 8.30 when I have dinner (can't eat before a run) but haven't been nearly as picky as I usually am. Hope everyone is having a good day 3

danTDM · 29/03/2017 19:16

balonder low carb is no sugar.
Pasta/bread is masses of sugar. Just a thought.

Mermaidinthesea · 29/03/2017 19:19

Yes please I'm 4 stone overweight, look awful and desperately need some help. I'll join. Its the 29th today so I'll weight in in a week.

Longji · 29/03/2017 20:20

Had a horrific headache earlier, not sure if it was from leaving too long between eating or a come down from lack of carbs/sugar.
Cajun chicken with roasted courgette covered in cheese for dinner. Delicious and my headache has gone too!

Jumpolining · 29/03/2017 20:25

I'm still here! And I'm totally focussed. Tho has not happened in almost a decade. (Except for a handful of dry roasted nuts) as I was starving (not had dinner yet). I'm resisting lots of temptations - worried about tomorrow- lots of driving ( no time for stepping) and lunch with friends. Hmm

Really don't want to stall. I'll fall off the wagon big style. And I'm feeling so much better physically and psychologically already.

Chicoletta357 · 29/03/2017 20:26

Well done everybody! One day at a time! I have just been to the gym and run a 5k. I think my problem is portion control too and so using a smaller bowl to convince myself I've eaten enough. At least we are going in the right direction and on this thread!

danTDM · 29/03/2017 20:27

Longji well done! your body is burning fat and you have the low carb flu. You'll feel like that for two days and then be soooo perky!

Chicoletta357 · 29/03/2017 20:29

Are you all having an alcohol free month? I always seem to do better when not drinking. If I do, I feel like I've failed and so eat like there's no tomorrow!

Balonder · 29/03/2017 20:49

Thanks danTDM, I know but I can't get on with low carb. Have lost some weight with it but find it totally unsustainable. I need to ban sugary things like chocolate, biscuits and sweets as I binge on them. I can eat 500/600 calories of sugary rubbish in no time, usually in the afternoon when I get in from work. I don't think (homemade) sourdough or brown soda bread is the problem for me. DH makes bread and so do I so we never buy it. My meals are usually quite healthy, it's the after work danger time I am trying to quit. That's where my extra weight comes from. I don't really drink, exercise well but can't stop eating rubbish when I start. I have had a green smoothie instead at that time every day this week and it's really making a difference. I am looking for a slow, steady, sustainable change and while others get on with low carb, I just can't keep it up

Jumpolining · 29/03/2017 21:02

I read yesterday, "You wouldn't get sunburnt and think 'sod it, I may as well just stay out in the sun all day with no protection now and look after my skin again on Monday...'

It struck a chord for me- that's exactly what I do when I eat something I should have.

It doesn't make sense does it?!

Jumpolining · 29/03/2017 21:10

*shouldn't have
