Dieting... again! Support needed!

Hey everyone!
I need to shift some weight!!
I gave birth to my daughter just over seven months ago and I lost the baby weight! (Woo!!) but to be fair it wasn't too much.
Basically, I've gained 9/10lbs recently and finding it hard to get back into the "Zone" and stay focused.
I weighed myself yesterday and I'm 11.9lbs (then ate Pizza Hut and brownies so i probably went up to 11.10 Blush
I've told my OH to hide my scales so I don't obsess with weighting myself and give them to me every Friday morning!!
I've gone out today and bought some slim fast milk shakes , 8 bought some salad , breakfast bars and fruit... I've started today!!!!
My plan is to have a banana before nursery run.
Come home and have a slim fast shake for my breakfast, have a healthy lunch or a shake and dinner and inbetween just have fruit or nuts etc.
I'm going to be doing my nursery run each weekday and my stepper, also crunches and squats.
(DVD when I have the energy!!)
I'm just looking for support so I stay focused, I'm thinking updated my progress on here will help!!
Anyone else dieting after baby or just in general!- please share your story Smile

Oh defiantly!!! When I'm tired or stressed dieting or eating well is just the last thing I care about!!!! But then, I feel low about my weight! You'd think that would be enough to keep me focused!!! Xx

Oh she's got a cold bless her..
I have a two year old son and a 7mo this old daughter- if one sleeps well the other doesn't!! Lol.
Hopefully she feels better soon!

It's all good!! We can do this!!! I'm starting 11.10 and a half... just stay strong today and each day will get easier! Today I'm finding already is easier than yesterday.
But I cannot wait until Friday morning to weigh myself!!!!!! Even to see that half a LB is gone!!!! Xx

Hi there. Jumping in to join you. I've been trying all January to be good but have had a lot of parties and weighed myself this morning to find I'm 11 stone 9lb which is only 3lbs off over the whole month!!! So I clearly need to be stricter with the food during February. We're going to Portugal on 1st April and really wanted to be 11 stone (or less preferably) by then.

Well.... my plan was to have porridge and banana for breakfast (fine, fills me up till lunchtime) then a diet shake for lunch (getting a bit bored of them after a month) then a normal tea. I think where I am falling down is that when I get in and make the kids tea I am starving so am eating far too much plus we've had a lot of birthdays and nights out and meals out this month so haven't taken any of those into consideration. I'm also trying to do 3 body balance classes a week but had a problem with my joints and had to pause that for 2 weeks where I just had to sit around until things got better. Back on it now.... and then of course half term comes around.

Well.. we're here to keep you strong!!
I know what you mean when it comes to the evening as I'll over eat by just picking.. normally my sons food!!! Blush
I'm the hungriest when it gets to mid day so now I'm just eating a large meal around 1pm to fill myself up and that I'm happy with and then a bar or shake for dinner and just fruit when I'm feeling to pick!!!!
I've had a breakfast bar this morning now just having a shake, I've just bought slim fast bars so tomorrow I can have a banana before school run then having a shake or bar for breakfast when I come in.

What shakes have you been having?
I'm being slack with the exercise!!! I just always feel so tired!!! Try and do my squats and crunches daily also walk when doing the school run.
Have you started again today? ..

Yes went to Body Balance last night - it's the Les Mills one and I love it.

I'm doing the Celebrity Slim shakes as I find the Slimfast ones too sweet. I actually like the taste of the CS ones.

I have an apple in my desk drawer as a snack for 11sies. And I have a coffee with one sugar. Otherwise I'm on herbal tea.

I find it easy to be good at work, it's just when I get home and the madness begins... plus it's not helped having chocolate lying around left over from Christmas but I finished that off last night Blush

Eugh I did the same a couple weeks ago.. if it's there it's soooo much harder to have the will power!!!! If it's just not in my house I'm happier!! Lol.

Oh okay I've never heard of them? They sound nice!
This is my first time starting with the slim fast and I'm actually surprised I like them!!!

For lunch I have my main meal- so I've just breaded some chicken breasts an swill have that with some veg or salad. Then later fruit.. a shake for dinner and more fruit in the late evening if I am hungry.

Oh the joys of losing weight!! Lol.
I already can't wait to weigh myself on Friday morning.
Even though I would have only been doing it from Tuesday morning, even seeing half a LB down I'll be happier and even more focused!
You sound like you do really well at work defiantly!

Why can't I be on or those women that can eat what they want as still look amazing?? Lol

I ate pizza!!! 😭😭😣😣😠😡 angry at myself for having no damn self control BUT I've not given up. Carrying on- chicken and veg in a min then fruit later and a shake..

This morning I've had two breakfast bars (not slim fast bars) a shake a banana ... then had pizza because I have no self control 🙄😒
Not letting that bring me down though and carrying on.

I'm hiding in my room feeling really grumpy as I stuck to it all day, came home and had spaghetti with a tin of tomatoes and leftover chilli burgers for tea which in itself was fine. But now I am feeling really grumpy and it's only 5pm. I fancy something sweet so have grabbed myself an apple and a cup of herbal tea..... mmmmmm.

Hi both!

I know exactly how you feel, I have no idea why but I have a habit of sabotaging myself and just eating rubbish and throwing in the towel. You're both doing really well and well done for not using one bad meal as an excuse to give up, which is what I always do.

I've not had a great day. I haven't eaten badly exactly but it wasn't the great start I wanted. I've had a stressful day, have a splitting headache and it's time of the month so I just feel awful and gross. I've also felt really fed up since weighing myself this morning - I'm the heaviest I've been and instead of motivating me I just feel annoyed with myself for putting on all this weight after working so hard to lose it a few years ago and I just feel low and like I can't do it!

You can!! Just think positive!!! I know it's hard... trust me.. (with a belly full of pizza 😑 ) if you eat crap just carry on, don't throw in the towel.
Nothing tastes as good as slim feels!!! That's all I keep thinking..
just think by summer how you'll look and feel/ that's all I think of/ especially when I have a blip and just want to give up!!
Tomorrow is always a new day to start!
Oh tell me about it!!! Time of the month here and it sucks injust want to eat the world!!! My partner just come in and said "I'm going shop for chocolate" 😩 While I sit here eating an apple and a banana!
But... we can do it girls!!!!

Just wish I felt a bit more motivated! I think I'm just going to treat these three days like a bit of a test run - I'm not expecting to lose as I tend to gain when it's time of the month whatever I eat! - so I'm going to do my best but try not to stress too much. As my week starts on Saturday, hopefully I'll be feeling better by then and I'm also hoping my new diet and exercise journal should be here by then which should help!

You'll get motivation and get into the zone and be focused at some point.
Don't put too much pressure on yourself.
Yeah I'm doing the same, in just using this week as a time to just start, not be perfect but be better!!
Yeah your journal will defiantly help you aswell.
Eugh it just sucks as you feel bloated and horrible aswell!!! Xx

I know, I hate feeling like this! And cannot get rid of this headache :( You're right I feel so bloated! I haven't had any of the shakes for ages and I had one today and found it a bit sickly, hope I get used to them!

I tried the slimfast but it was disgusting - way too sweet. The Celebrity Slim taste much better. I also bought some of these which are very nice: www.purition.co.uk/shop-by-product.html

Eugh it's such a horrible feeling!!!!
Time of the month and dieting does not mix well at all!! It makes it soo much harder!! Think that's why I over ate earlier today!!
Maybe try some different shakes??
I thought I wouldn't like them but I'm surprised that I do!! But you're right they can be sickly- if they were any bigger it would be hard to drink it all!!
I'm always here if you're feeling shit or need support.. as even today writing I had eaten pizza helped!!! Made me think, no I will not quit!!
I'm going to do better tomorrow.

I'm still kind of getting used to when I should have a shake or a bar to when I'm picking my son up or going to be hungry as I only started on Tuesday.
I'll get there!! Lol xx

You're doing so well! I feel rubbish because I couldn't even get through one day properly. I think one of my big problems is that I am so stressed at the moment due to work that I feel like I can't focus on dieting and losing weight but on the other hand I am the heaviest I have ever been so I'm desperate to lose weight and can't put it off until other things are better! Hoping to at least feel a bit better after the next couple of days - I know you can't be crap on your diet every time your on your period but it does make it so hard when you're only just starting and not in the zone yet!

OMG inget like that!! When something's stressing me out or when I'm going through something I push dieting or eating well to the side!!!! And it NEVER does me any good!
Hence why I gained 10lbs in about 6wks!!!! All over my bday and Xmas I was just so stressed with so much and I had worked hard and lost a stone- to just gain most of it back!!!! 🙄😒
Just eat better than normal then over a few days get stricter with yourself and up the exercise - I'm gutted I ate pizza today!!!!! So gutted- but, I just carried on like normal and done my exercise (only a little) - had a healthy main meal and fruit then a bar. I'm now in bed... and tomorrow I'm defiantly going to try for a better day!! Xx

Just weighed myself as I couldn't wait!!!! And I've lost two lbs!!!!!
That's given me soo much motivation!!!!
Stick with it ladies- we can do this!!!
Will weigh myself next Saturday morning just to keep myself motivated over the wkend.
Last night my partner bought pizza.. garlic bread with cheese on and chocolate cup cakes!!!!!!
I had my bowl of fruit and my bar and carried on my night.... WILL POWER!!! Lol xx

Well done! You've done so well. I've woken up feeling rough - still have a banging headache, wish I could stay off work! I think I'm going to go shopping after work (I got a few bits the other day but don't have a supermarket near me so was just a few bits) so going to do a proper shop and get lots of healthy stuff in. Bit worried about the shakes, I really like the idea of them and they are especially good when I'm working but think I might struggle as I don't like them very much!
