10 stones, 140 lbs, a whole bloody person to lose!! Anyone else?

10stonestolose · 03/01/2017 12:18

Age:45
Starting weight: 19st 10lbs on 01/01/17
Goal: 9st 10lbs
Plan: low carb, high fat

Well, it's the biggest I've ever been. Feel horrid, but determined to make this the last year of being a fat person. I''m going to diet the shit out of this mess I'm in! I've see threads to lose 100lbs, but not 140. If anyone else is in the same scary boat and fancies friendly, non-judgmental journey sharing, please say hello and share away.

Shutty I'm so glad it's not just me! I'm trying to have a really good week, get my 3lb off from last week but I just feel like it's such a huge, wobbly mountain to climb and I'm still not seeing any results that it's hard to stay motivated...

10stonestolose · 06/04/2017 16:20

Thanks Twenty, I'm keeping everything crossed! Like the sound of your lentils, I have no idea if lentils are low carb or not, off to investigate.

Holy and Shutty, totally with you on the seeming to take forever slog. It does feel like we've been dieting for 14 months not 14 weeks! Dieting is bloody boring, no doubt about that. I just think let's get through today at the moment, the alternative (i.e.:staying fat) terrifies me enough to keep me focused for now, but it is one hell of a long slog (1-2 years for most of us, I'd say). We just have to KOKO and then never let this happen again!

Easter egg has now been bagged up into 25g bags (7sp each) and hidden in the freezer.

10stonestolose · 06/04/2017 17:39

Proud of you Fairfax, well done for resisting!

Lotsawobblybits · 06/04/2017 18:32

I hear you all - dieting is just boring and a slog and takes too long!

I probably shouldn't say this but I did have a lot of enjoyment getting fat, booze, cakes, pies etc! Grin

But .....I don't want to be fat anymore so for me this is the pain for that enjoyment.

Well I tried a Body Balance class (mix of yoga, pilates and tai chi) last night at the gym. It was still pretty hard, mainly because of how heavy I am, but I actually quite enjoyed it. I went for a short run this morning and I've done lots of walking today when I'd have normally used the car. I'm finally starting to feel slightly less stiff, so hopefully the gym will start to feel a little easier soon. It has to eventually, right?

Hope everyone's had a good week along our road to towards losing a whole bloody person. At least a finger or a toes worth, or at the very least an ear Smile

Thank you lotsa and twenty those all sound amazing! Apparently there's roughly 20g of carbs per 100g of lentils. They are high in fibre though. I'm having massive tummy issues and drs have decided to test for coeliacs disease. This stew thing I'm making is about the only thing I can stomach at the moment without massive issues. It will probably turn out to be nothing Smile

CrazyDuchess · 08/04/2017 09:14

Rolling into week 7 - the desire to give up just seems to go on and on...but I am a stubborn cow... well at least for this week.

So currently on holiday and on day 2 there has already been just enough far too much alcohol and cheese....

So not feeling hopeful (and no results til Tuesday morning when I get home!)

Will a least try to be a bit more active though Grin

10stonestolose · 08/04/2017 10:29

Narcs, I suffer with IBS type symptoms regularly, so feel for you if it's happening all the time...hopefully the docs will have some answers for you. It makes eating out or at friends/rellies houses really difficult too, is if dieting on its own isn't hard enough! Flowers

Duchess enjoy your holiday, you've got to live a little sometimes. With you on the stubbornness, I think about caving and then think there's no way I can give in now.

I was at the gym at 8am to do our 1hr cardio/weights programme. I do feel a bit stronger than I did on some of the machines, but totally shattered now. Going to try to do more walking later on today. Weigh-in tomorrow.

Enjoy the weekend sunshine everyone!

I've just put on £430!

Lotsawobblybits · 08/04/2017 20:55

narcs hope you have some answers & you are better soon. Flowers. I had issues for years even as a kid and was diagnosed with a loose egg intolerance. So I can't have omelette, scrambled or runny yolk eggs. It's okay as an ingredient in cake luckily!

Ace Fairfax that's great going!

Duchess have a fab holiday Wine. You can always get back on the wagon when you get back to normality

10stones good on you gym at 8am on a Saturday is some commitment! Fingers crossed for a good result tomorrow!

We have had such a lovely day doing the garden, however, I'm such an idiot as I currently look like this Angry (

10stonestolose · 09/04/2017 07:26

Fairfax maybe adjust your scalesGrindid you win on the GN?

Thanks Wobbly, hope the sunburn isn't as bad as you thought last night. Keep moisturising...with aloe if you have it, but anything that doesn't sting will help.

I've lost 2lbs this week...I should be pleased, but after all that exercise, I thought it might be more! The good news is that I've broken through the 3 stone barrier and have now lost 30% of what I have to lose. So that feels good and it's always good to tick another target off.

Stats on their way...

10stones oh my goodness! Look at you!

I'm starving and in macdonalds...having a Diet Coke

10stonestolose · 09/04/2017 18:26

Thanks holy, well it was all going so well....

I've managed 14 bloody weeks without cheating with food and today I attend a very chilled 70th garden party and we're all called out into the garden to sing happy birthday and then given a piece of cake. Choice of blueberry, carrot and chocolate...I plump for blueberry and then have the temerity to have a second bloody slice! Wtf? What's happened to me?! For 14 weeks I've turned down EVERYTHING with sugar in and now I cave! At a 70th! Aargh!!!! May have drank lots of whiite wine too Blush last time I did this I fell completely off the he wagon for a year, please, please help me to stay on it.

OP posts:
OhHolyFuck · 09/04/2017 18:58

Right 10stones listen, you are not off the wagon. You had the tiniest blip but it's done now. Completely over, you are not going to slip back

You are going to stop, right now. This won't turn into a binge - brush your teeth, drink a pint of water, dance like a maniac to one song if you feel yourself slipping. Tomorrow is a new day and you are right back on it

Look at this - *Starting weight: 19st 10lbs (BMI 43.2)
Weight now: 16st 9lbs (BMI 36.5)
Goal: 9st 10lbs (BMI 21.3)

Week 1 loss: 9lbs
Week 2 loss: 6lbs
Week 3 loss: 1lb
Week 4 loss: 5lbs
Week 5 loss: 2lbs
Week 6 loss: 2lbs
Week 7 loss: 3lbs
Week 8 loss: 1lb
Week 9 loss: 2lbs
Week 10 loss: 3lbs
Week 11 loss: 1lb
Week 12 loss: 4lbs
Week 13 loss: 2lbs
Week 14 loss: 2lbs*

That is you. You are kicking ass and it's not going to stop now

Think of 5 reasons you are doing this - your health, to look good in summer clothes? Focus on those

One pothole in the road, don't let it throw you off the whole bloody course, you've done too well for that

Koko, we can do it!

10stonestolose · 09/04/2017 19:33

Holy thank you for coming to my rescue! I know what you're saying makes total sense. I just need to stay strong. In car on way home now. I'm tipsy, so I think I need an early night and start afresh tom. I have a 7.15am yoga class to nail. Thanks again x

Oh don't feel bad 10stones this is one little blip. You hit the 3 stones mark this week and have been inspirational!

Fresh start tomorrow & you can carry on KOKOING! Wink

10stonestolose · 09/04/2017 20:33

Wobbly and Holy honestly, virtual friends are better than real ones at times like this. Thank you both so much! Home now and pjs on. I think I just need to forget this afternoon ever happened. This thread has literally been a lifesaver over the last 14 weeks. What a lovely group of people we have, I'm so grateful and I'm determined not to let you or myself down. Tomorrow I will be back on it! KOKO indeed!

Staring weight 138.5kg
Week one -2.5kg

OhHolyFuck · 10/04/2017 10:44

Morning guys!

10stone how you feeling today?

5lb off this week, least that's the 3lb gain from last week gone!

Going to koko, 0.5lb would mean 1.5stone off and 3lb would be into the next stone bracket so that's my aim this week

Well done to everyone, we're doing it guys!
