Arch that sounds less than fun :( are your children old enough to be sent to the local park on their own? Not sure what it is like in the antipodies but I used to take my younger siblings all the time in the summer hols when we were kids, and my bro is still in school so it wasn't that long ago!

Even for half an hour would give you some breathing space?

12.4 this morning, but AF is close and I don't expect she will let me loose for a day or so. Therefore I am been extra virtuous so I get a good woosh of linda's after she leaves.

teaping · 17/01/2017 08:56

Purple that meal sounds amazing! Spinach dhal - yum!!

Well done though arch for NOT eating your body weight in chocolate!

I am sulking today. I have put on another 3/4 of a pound today, so that's 1.5 in 48 hours. Where am I going wrong!!?!

Archduke · 17/01/2017 09:04

Hairspray and teapig thanks for the kind words. They are old enough to be left alone for an hour or so - So I can go for a walk/run/shops etc by myself, or indeed they can go out by themselves. DH took them to the cricket last night and I had an evening to myself. It was bliss. Children are just so needy.

teapig what are you eating mate? Are you MFP ing your intake? Larger portions? Too many lattes? Can you give us a brief rundown of the last few days food?

BitOutOfPractice · 17/01/2017 09:15

Oh god Archie that sounds hellish.

I think I might have lost something but I'm weighing on the BF's scales and I think they weigh different from mine.

Just had a grill up. Cooked the full works he did. All for 360 calories including a milky latte.

Planning a golden day here. Not sure what exercise I'll be doing though as I'm feeling a bit grim

Arch, Children are just so needy - Yes! This!

I am struggling slightly with the slow pace of loss - I have been dieting since Wed 4th Jan, so not quite two weeks, but I was expecting to see big whooshes after every fast day (I'm doing 5:2) and I'm lucky if I lose a lb - which mainly goes back on over the weekend! Grr! I weighed the exact same this Monday as I did last Monday. I thought the first two weeks were supposed to be all about dramatic losses!

I wore my trainers and got off the bus a stop early and the bliss of walking in trainers! My feet were practically orgasmic! I'm going to go out for a 45 minute walk at lunchtime and try to avoid having to march around the house after dinner trying to get my step count up to 10k.

lastqueenofscotland · 17/01/2017 09:35

Arch nothing worse than an ungrateful guest, child or not!!

I am so hungryyyyy Angry
But trying to be good this week as its my birthday on Friday and there will be a couple of days of decadent food!

Literally daydreaming about hula hoops.

ArseyTussle · 17/01/2017 09:37

Morning all. I too am a woman. Smile

Good day for food yesterday, not a morsel til 12 then just lunch and dinner. No snacking at all.

Just done a 28 minute run - how far through C25K are you, Arch? I'm very slow so including the warm up and cool down (38 mins in total) I've just done 3.9km. Hardly Zola Budd, but going for it regardless!

teaping · 17/01/2017 09:56

Archduke Sunday admittedly wasn't ideal. I had lunch at a friend's and had a v small piece of pork belly with a spoon of rice, some beans and salad. (And 2 glasses of wine, ooops).

Yesterday for lunch I had a salad of boiled egg, small amount of chicken breast, cucumber, tomato, bit of mayo, lettuce.

Then for dinner I had roast gammon, cabbage, leeks and green beans followed by plain fat free Greek yogurt and a square of 85% plain choc.

I guess I'm just eating too much. It's annoying cause I'm doing exactly the same as the last couple of weeks except it's no longer working!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 17/01/2017 10:04

Teaping, unless your portions are enormous then it doesn't sound like you're eating too much. Are you doing calorie restriction? It could be week 3 effect - where in weeks 1 & 2 you lose a lot of water weight, and then in weeks 3 & 4 it stabilises and it looks like you aren't losing weight but really your body has just got used to the new diet? If you stick it out you'll probably see losses in week 5.

BitOutOfPractice · 17/01/2017 10:16

Oh yes, thexwerk three stall. This is where most people drop out I think. But not us eh Slenderistas? Onwards and downwards. We can do this HaloStar

Tea You need to swap to full fat greek or greek style yog. Fat free is full of sugar and that will cause your weight loss to slow down. Especially if the rest of your diet is relatively low carb, which from your menu it looks like. Full fat will keep you fuller longer and doesn't have any hidden sugars.

What do you have for breakfast? Nothing is fine, but you could try eggs for a protein hit in the morning.

Could be water retention from the wine on sunday or the gammon as it is quite salty? Are you drinking enough water to flush your system? And finally are you "going" regularly, because you could just be weighing food that hasn't left your system yet.

Archduke · 17/01/2017 10:45

Oh, yes to water water water teapig. Pork belly sounds yum.

To round off a shithouse day the puppy has just crapped all over the shagpile carpet. Honestly I could weep.

teaping · 17/01/2017 10:45

Thanks ladies. I didn't feel like I was eating too much, but I could cut down my dinner portion a bit (and make myself fully miserable! Haha).

Hairspray I checked the nutrition info for several yogurts before I bought the fat free one - it's Libertee and seems to have only 3.6g of carbs / sugar per 100g which is less than most. I am focusing much more on low carb and sugar than fat.

I'm not doing brekky as I'm not a fan anyway but combining 16.8 with low carb.

Perhaps you're right though and I need to drink more water. off to fetch pint number 2...!

Practice - absolutely...I won't give up!! I cannotttttt be a lardy bride!

Arsey I'm on W9R1 of c25k. I've mostly loved it. Am pretty plodding but hoping to up my pace as I go on. Are you in the c25k beginners thread? It's very nice.

Archduke · 17/01/2017 11:00

Teaping I'm so sorry I keep calling you teapig by mistake Blush

teaping · 17/01/2017 11:25

Hahahaha archduke please don't worry - pig is quite fitting for me at the moment!! Blush hehe

lastqueenofscotland · 17/01/2017 11:33

Tea that doesn't sound like much at all,

I caved and had two biscuits from the office tin Blush

BitOutOfPractice · 17/01/2017 11:35

I did c25k last year. I'm now sort of using the 5k Pacer app to try and up my speed. I'm aiming to be under 30 mins for 5km by my birthday in June. So far I've edged it down from 35:30 to 32:28. Getting there. Still pitifully slow of course but I'm very old

Much simpler in haiku form:

We are to be wed.
We do not want any gifts.
Kids are not welcome.

HairsprayBabe · 17/01/2017 11:46

oops wrong thread Blush

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 17/01/2017 11:51

Isn't teapig a brand of teabags?

Sorry to hear that your day has been so shit (literally) Archduke

I have booked into a bodypump class this afternoon so I can't back out, it'll be my first one since before Christmas (oops) so I am expecting to be pretty achey tomorrow.

ArseyTussle · 17/01/2017 11:52

I'm doing a C210K plan, which I'm enjoying. The problem with the app I used for C25K was that it assumed that once you'd managed to run for 30 mins you'd completed 5K, which of course is not true for the plodders and trotters amongst us. This one measures distance as well as time, so I'm expecting to have to repeat the last few weeks quite a few times to get my speed up.

I sometimes feel rather anarchic, being both fat AND a runner, challenging societal norms and all that.

Sorry to hear about The Shagpile Incident. Envy

QuimReaper · 17/01/2017 11:53

Oh, I full on just thought your name was teapig teaping, glad Archie pointed it out!

Three weeks is definitely about where most people give up. Their enthusiasm for dieting that carried them through the first couple of weeks starts to wane, and combined with a stall in weight loss it all just gets demoralising. Then they make a thread on MN called "why aren't I losing?" and they get 45 different conflicting dictines, with a load of nonsense myths thrown in like "well muscle weighs more than fat, if you spent twenty minutes on an elliptical trainer last Tuesday that's why", and a load of brisk bossyboots who maintain that you're being ridiculous and the ONLY way to lose weight is to eat 1600 calories a day, any less and your body will get fatter Hmm, and altogether the poster just gives up and throws themselves into a tub of icecream.

But as BOOP says, NOT ON THIS THREAD! Just plug, plug, plug away and you shall be rewarded (but not necessarily in a fair, logical or predictable way).

HairsprayBabe · 17/01/2017 12:02

I assumed it was in homage to said teabag brand.

I have done my menu plan for the week:

M: Asparagus, broccoli and tofu stir fry
T: Fishcakes, kale and edamame
W: Beetroot falafel, roasted mediterranean veg
T: Italian Aubergine Bake
F: Omelettes
S: Curry
S: Cold things
